Sony Pictures has revealed a first look at a villain, played by Thomas Haden Church, from the highly-anticipated Spider-Man 3 at the film's official website. The studio is keeping the villain's name under wraps (though the Flint Marko name and clothes should give it away!) and you can talk about the new photo on the message boards!

 

Spider-Man 3, directed by Sam Raimi and produced by Laura Ziskin and Marvel Studios' Avi Arad, swings into theaters on May 4, 2007. Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and James Franco are joined by Church and Topher Grace in the third installment of the blockbuster franchise.

 

The "Spider-Man" film franchise has grossed more than $1.5 billion in worldwide ticket sales to date. Production on the third film, which was written by Alvin Sargent, is scheduled to begin early next year.

I think we already heard Sandman was in it, from the thread about Kirsten "Dunce" accidentally revealing a few things about the upcoming movie.

You know it'd be funny if he ended up being a cameo appearance, like Jubilee and Beast in X2.

But that is cool. I don't know too much about Sandman; I'll wait for the movie to tell me.

You are all heatens. He looks perfect for the role.

 

What's he do? :p

Think body out of sand, which he can manipulate in any way he want to. He can f.ex. spread out so that he avoid punches, or make himself stone hard when it is his turn to punch. He's way stronger than Spider-Man, so he always have to rely on his thinker when fighting him.

I think he looks great. I can't wait to see the SFX!

 

I really don't know too much about him, either. I guess I won't be able to say that for much longer.

Psst, Venom has been confirmed a long time ago when Dunst blurted it out at a press conference...

 

Also, I prefer someone who can act in my movies, but that's just me. :)

Oh for christ sake... The Rock should be playing Venom. He has the muscle needed for the part. What does this fragile whimp have that The Rock doesn't? Except for the blonde, flat hair that's needed for the part...

 

if you remember christian bale before batman begins, he was pretty scrawny. same with tobey before spider-man, but tehy were able to beef up for their roles. who's to say topher wont as well?

Yeah, but venom is huge. I still think Toby is too small for spiderman... sorta... he makes a good peter parker, but not hes not as tough and smart mouthed enough for spidey. As for venom, the rock would have been great... I mean crap... venom was giant...

Except the Rock isn't that great of an actor.

 

He's funny; but he wouldn't be a good fit for Venom even though he's muscular. We need someone more broadchested who can still act.
