Jae Onasi
So RJM and I don't drag other threads off topic anymore talking about Redheads. A thread devoted to all things related to Redheads, ranging from those with strawberry blond all the way to those with the darkest auburn, and everything in between, and those who wish they were. What's the best and worst about being a Redhead? Favorite Redheads? Famous Redheads? Infamous Redheads (for those of you who prefer the dark side view)? Rumors about Redheads? Anything else Redhead-related? Best--Red hair is rather unique (2% in the US). People pay good money to achieve the color that the Good Lord blessed me with. The association with Irish is fun, though I only have a wee bit in me. I play it up on St. Patrick's Day. Worst--Sunburns! Redheads tend to have very fair skin and I'm no exception. Second degree sunburns are brutally painful. Now I just stay out of the sun for the most part, which means I never tan well, but it also means I won't look like a prune when I'm 85, either. My sister and I had to brave the jokes about my mother and the mailman, since my parents both have brown hair. It's my great-grandfather who put the red hair gene into the family gene pool. Favorite Redhead--Jimbo, of course, since he's a strawberry blond. Famous Redheads--Lucille Ball (unbelievable comedienne), Carol Burnett (another great), Thomas Jefferson, Nicole Kidman, David Caruso, Napoleon, Elizabeth the First, among many others. I like to think that Katherine Hepburn, my favorite actress, also had some red in her hair. This doesn't happen very often since I'm a dark strawberry blond/light auburn redhead, but I hate the term carrot-top. My hair is not orange, and I'm not growing greenery out of the top of my head. Rumors--we have fiery tempers. Even if we don't, we cultivate the image. It comes in handy if someone makes the mistake of making some stupid Bozo joke. HerbieZ
I prefer dark hair or brunette or whatever the hell it's called. Specially short, short dark hair on a girl. Yep that's pretty much it.
Achilles
"If you love a redhead, set her free. If she follows you everywhere you go, pitches a tent in your front lawn and puts your new girlfriend in the hospital, she's yours." Unfortunately, I seem to have inherited my father's preference for redheads. Who wants to live forever anyways?
The Source
^^^ I want to live forever. I was going to marry a redhead, but we parted ways. Careers took us into two diferent directions. Lol....
Feagildin
Bryce Dallas Howard. And that's all I have to say about that. Oh! Mira too.

igyman
I want to live forever. Sorry man, but there's enough room for only one immortal on this planet. As for hot famous redheads, pick one, any one, they're all good, as long as they're females.
Jeff
I don't really know too many good looking redhead females, and some of my guy friends are redheads but their hair is more orange, I always ask them why it's called red hair when it's orange. And yeah, I always notice they burn very easily
Darth InSidious
Perhaps Jae and RJM should found some sort of...red-headed...league? ( )
Emperor Devon
It has been observed throughout the ages that redheads are much more mischievous than people with other hair colors, and that they are more susceptible to thermal pain. They also need more anesthesia than others do. It's definitely best not have red hair.
Feagildin
They also say that readheads, on average, have fewer hairs per surface area than any other hair color. Don't yell at me for this information, yell at my hairdresser. She told me so.

They also need more anesthesia than others do. It's definitely best not have red hair. My sisters would have to speak about the mischievous thing. Being more sensitive to thermal pain means we figure out that something's hot before it gives us a bad burn, unlike you non-redheads. Every time I've had to have surgery, my anesthesia has been more than adequate to do the job, and that's all that counts. @Achilles-- Funny saying. Emperor Devon
Redheads are not more sensitive to thermal pain, they are more susceptible to it. People of the other hair colors are just as aware of how burned they're getting as redheads are. And with the heat wave going on, many redheads will now be turning the color of their hair. Feagildin
I want to get entangled with a redhead. One with really pale skin. Idk why, but its just so.........entrancing. I like it. Well, the girls anyway. lol I have two cousins who are twin redheads. They're pretty cool to hang with. I can't wait until they're older so I can spar with them at family reunions and such. (I take American Shotokan and they take Tai Kwon Do.) ((and yes, they're guys))

That's why God made sunscreen. It also has a lot to do with acclimation to heat and drinking proper amounts of water during any activities outside when the temperature's high. I've done plenty of first aid for heat illness on people of all hair colors. @Feagildin--what's wrong with sparring with someone of the opposite sex? We do that in our dojang all the time. Tournaments are different, of course, but our adult class is small. There's only 1 gal who's at the same level I'm at, and we can only fight each other so many times. So we fight against the guys as well. I'm not as fast as most of them, but I am sneakier.

I've done plenty of first aid for heat illness on people of all hair colors. Even without the sunscreen, there's still the heat to contend with. Not all redheads have air conditioning, and they're now roasting even moreso than their non-redheaded friends. Although this is isn't entirely related to the topic, what exactly is your 'Hotel Asylum', Jae? I've heard you and RGN use the reference many times. Although this is isn't entirely related to the topic, what exactly is your 'Hotel Asylum', Jae? I've heard you and RGN use the reference many times. I grew up without air conditioning. As long as we drink enough water, we're no more susceptible than anyone else. No one is going to do well in 95+ degree heat for days in a row, I don't care what color hair you have. It started as a joke name for a mental hospital (which used to be called asylums). And no, I'm not making fun of mental illness itself, because that's a pretty serious problem. I was giving JediMaster12 a hard time about playing the game so much she was 'playing it in her head'. It's a 'special' place for our people who are especially crazy about Kotor to go. Emperor Devon
Is that your personal opinion?... No, although I doubt it's true. No one is going to do well in 95+ degree heat for days in a row, I don't care what color hair you have. Most likely. Although the facts I got about redheads aren't entirely true (well, maybe not the mischievous one) my main point is that it is better not to be a rehead because I like the other hair colors more (other than white and grey). @ ED: if you've been to teh (now locked) "You've played too much KotOR when..." thread, then you'll figure out it's origins I just went to it, and it looks like I'm qualified enough to go there... But I'm not sure if that's an entirely good thing...
