Diego Varen Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Is he trying to give peace a chance (Similar to the John Lennon song, Give Peace a Chance)? But over 5000 signatures was very good.
coupes. Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Reminded me of the videoclip for "Every Day" by the Dave Mattews Band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPvpnHhAztk
Totenkopf Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 So, who deleted my post from 2:45 (right after Pottsie's)? You can PM me with your reason if you don't want to post it in this thread. Seemed a bit arbitrary and uncalled for, frankly. thanks.
stoffe Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 That video made me smile in the non-humor way as well. Doesn't happen often when viewing youtube clips, but that one was emotionally touching in a way.
Jae Onasi Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Yeah, that was a good one. When they got banned, I just rolled my eyes and thought 'you gotta be kidding....' and was tickled it got overturned.
Aurora Merlow Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 That's gags, but in a nice way. I wonder where it was, it kinda looked like Sydney
Char Ell Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Interesting. I wouldn't have a problem hugging some stranger on the street if that was all it was. Caveats: - unless the other person had an obvious medical condition that might be contagious. - I would also be concerned about ulterior motives so yeah, I would also check my wallet afterwards to make sure I still had it and its contents. Gotta watch out for the con artists, know what I mean?
Rogue Nine Posted October 13, 2006 Author Posted October 13, 2006 As a disclaimer, I posted this thread as a means of getting people to smile and feel good. So if you have anything negative or cynical to say, please refrain from posting here. Thanks.
tk102 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Can't view it from here... but was this inspired by Amma? http://www.amritapuri.org/media/usa/20mill.php
Emperor Devon Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Awwww... That put a smile on my face. I can't believe someone would think of banning it.
The Source Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Are we done holding hands? Lol... Yeah. It was a weak moment for myself as well.
Rogue Nine Posted October 13, 2006 Author Posted October 13, 2006 Can't view it from here... but was this inspired by Amma? http://www.amritapuri.org/media/usa/20mill.php It may very well have been inspired by her. All I know is, they're doing a lot of good for this crazy, messed up world of ours by giving out simple acts of kindness. I would totally give them both great big hugs.
Commander Obi-Wan Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 That's pretty cool. Earlier this semester, two students were walking the school and had a sigh saying "Free Hugs".
Rogue15 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 that's the way humans should act towards each other.
milo Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Nobody's ever asked me if I wanted a hug. Except maybe my mom.
Rabish Bini Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 That made me and my brother smile. And to think they would ban it. But, just imagine, if this spread all arpound the world, even in war-torn Countries. For once we could have world peace.
Mav Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 huh, made me chuckle, not sure if it was because it was humorous or because it was "touching", but it made me chuckle, I was half-expecting it to be some sort of pick-pocket scam, shows what stereotyping does for ya. Edit to below: After I watched it I was quite pleased to know it wasn't a scam and just a guy trying to brighten others day, but I can't help my preconcieved thoughts. I saw a guy who was less than clean wearing a trenchcoat trying to get people close to him, I'm sorry if what was preprogrammed in my brain told me to "watch out", but thats the way it goes.
Rogue Nine Posted October 15, 2006 Author Posted October 15, 2006 It saddens me greatly to see a number of you view this as some sort of scam, when it really isn't anything close to resembling one. How hard is to understand that that guy just wants to give people hugs out of the goodness of his heart? Sigh. Now I need a hug.
Commander Obi-Wan Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 *hugs Rogue Nine* Hopefully, that will suffice. I see no problem wii it, it's just way te guy wanted to express himself, and there is really nothing wrong with that.
Rabish Bini Posted October 16, 2006 Posted October 16, 2006 If any of you saw it, it was on channel ten in Aus once, and he said that his mum (or someone close to him) had died and that this brightened him up.

With all the joke videos that get put here, I wasn't 100% sure what to expect at first. It wasn't that we thought it was a scam, I think some of us thought it _might_ be a scam at first. You should see the wacky things people do in Chicago to try to pickpocket or scam someone. In any case, once I realized that yes, this is the Real Deal, I thought it was very cool. *Jae gives everyone a hug*
