swphreak
I gave my cousin's Wii a go when he brought it with him to the ski resort. It's pretty nifty. I especially liked Wii Sports, but I still don't know about other games. The Wiimote seems like too much of a gimmick to me. Perhaps when the price drops to $150, I'll pick one up. Tyrion
I laugh when I hear that now since no one says it anymore... well no one except Phreak... That comment had absolutely no effect on Phreak's reputation because it was deflected by the ever so awesome Dr. Cox.
Lynk Former
Who said anything about doing anything to Phreak's reputation? All I was saying was that very few people have that opinion now that they've actually had the chance to play it. The only thing people are complaining about now is the overall lack of hardware power. All I was saying was that very few people have that opinion now that they've actually had the chance to play it. The only thing people are complaining about now is the overall lack of hardware power. Lack of hardware power as in what? Graphics? I don't really get that at all. Honestly, for $250, i'm rather impressed at what the machine can do. I also have to give mad props to Nintendo for making this machine so rediculously easy to set up and use right out of the box. And last night I became absolutely lost in just the Virtual Console alone. Nevermind the other Wii games I got for Christmas that I have not opened yet. I finally got a couple of days off, and now I shall spend some quality time on the Wii. My only gripe so far, is the annoying menu noises, and adding contacts is NOT a fun process at all. They should have made that a little bit easier. Oh well. Pretty minor stuff IMO. Whatever... Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!!!

To tell you the truth, that was less a defense of Phreak's reputation(pfft!) than it was a total celebration of everything good in life, and such is Scrubs. As to the actual topic, the Wii's last of hardware power really isn't that much of a problem. It's not meant to duel out the other two consoles in graphics competitions; I think Nintendo would much rather focus on the gameplay and for that I applaud them. Lynk Former
I get why people don't like Wii for its lack of hardware power and we all know that on a graphical level, Wii is lacking and yes (@ Tyrion) Nintendo isn't focusing on that side of things with Wii, but that wasn't my point. My point was that if people had a complaint about Wii, that's the one people speak of with the loudest voice. On a personal level, I think Wii has enough graphical power, it's just upto developers to spend time perfecting their games on a visual level to make them look as nice as Resident Evil 4 and Twilight Princess. And I don't mean that on a purely graphical level either, I'm talking artstyle and animation and all the little things that make a game look so good. IG-64
And remember, a lot of graphics juice can still be squeezed out of Wii. Hardware-wise, it's twice as powerful as gamecube (last I heard). If that means anywhere near twice as nice as, say, Resident Evil 4, that's dang good.
Lynk Former
Yeah it is "twice as powerful" as the GCN, but like I said, it depends on how much time a developer wants to put into making their games look as good as RE4 and TP.

Well, don't know what else to call it. Oooh, you shake the controller and the character moves. I'll stick with the standard controller. I just wish they'd port Super Smash Bros Brawl to the GameCube. I think you can play Gamecube games with the Classic controller too, if I'm not mistaken. But I probably am mistaken.
Datheus
They had lots of season 1 at my Best Buy. Typing on the Wii is very slow. Just like anything with no keyboard. Auto complete helps, though. I'm typing this on my Wii right now using my girlfriend's wireless. A patch adding support for USB keyboards would be a good idea.
