PS3 or 360?

Recommended Posts

GET THE WII!!!!11

Otherwise, I'd choose the Xbox 360. At the moment, the variety of games available beats the PS3 tenfold. As well as the games, like Halo, Gears of War, Mass Effect, etc. The only game that really appeals to me that is exclusive to the PS3 is Resistance: Fall of Man. The price is also a factor. You can get a Wii and an Xbox (thus comes the idea of 'Wii60') for the price of the PS3.

There also the difference between HD and blu-ray. Which one of those to you want?

I would definitely go with the Xbox 360. It has a lot more good games on it imo and I'm just not interested in spending $600 on a console.

Yeah, this is the opinion of most people. I have a PSP which i think is great and the only advantage for the PS3 is the whole PSP-PS3 connectivity thing.

Still, the PS3 is still new compared to the 360, and there are some good games that are on the horizon for the PS3 such as Final Fantasy XIII and Devil May Cry IV. However this is also the case for the 360 like Halo 3 and Mass-Effect, plus add to the fact that there could be potentially a Kotor 3 on the 360. I live in the UK and the PS3 has just come out at a stupid price of £500 so this is a real downer for me into getting one. Hmm... i may go with the 360 for now but may import the PS3, they are around £255 brand new on Amazon Japan which is a much better price than in the UK.

I might try the Nintendo WII, i don't usually go for Nintendo (however the SNES still rocks my world  ) but the console looks too good to pass up; the fact that it has back play for gamecube games and you can download the entire Nintendo back catalogue onto the internal hardrive makes it a winner for me. Decisions, Decisions....

Yeah the WII looks appealing. Between HD or blu-ray? Hmmm... well both formats are similar when comparing picture quality etc. but blu-ray can hold more data with a ratio of 25GB to the HD's 15GB. The PS3 has it's blu-ray drive already built-in, the 360's HD drive isn't but this could be the reason for the PS3's higher price which really doesn't make it any better value for money. Overall i may go HD, and thus the 360 (aswell as a WII)

P.S. I noticed the RAMMSTEIN picture, Commander Obi-Wan; you have great taste in music my friend - definately one of the better foreign bands out there! (My personal favourite song definately being Ich Will)

I have the Wii and I love it. I would recommend it over the other 2 systems. The only thing about it I don't like right now is the lack of games that I'm interested in enough to buy. But they have a strong lineup coming soon.

Upgrade your PC or get a new one. The 360 will last a few years before another bigger and better console comes out, but computers have been popular for decades.

But if you're not interested in PCs I'd get the 360. The PS3 is more expensive and doesn't have the Mass Effect series.

Give it it time, and it will have more titles. The WII is very unique and thus will allow titles to be released that will be WII only; there are examples already such as "Red Steel" and "Sonic and the Secret Rings". The Gamecube was a bit naff at first, but in time got an impressive array of games such as the "Rogue Squadron" sequels, "Resident Evil Zero" and "Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes" amongst others.

I'm all for the Xbox 360 or Wii. I have played on both my 360 and a friend's ps3, and I really do not like it. It's slow, the games suck, and I've heard many horror stories on installation. In fact, playing on the ps3 has made me want to keep the 360 more and spend my $600 elsewhere

This may not help much but to tell you the absolute honest truth... I would buy both. That way you get the best of both worlds. Now if you plan on buying them like one at a time or something like that I would go with the 360 or the Wii first then get the PS3.;)

Yeah i was thinking of doing this - great advice!

I would definately import the PS3 though, £500 in my country is way too much for me!

Get a new PC, me and my fiancee are going to build our own dream compy, and for 500 quid, we're gonna get a PC with very good specs (AMD X2 4600+, 2GB DDR2 RAM, ATI 256Mb X1950GT (Yeah baby!), 300Gb HDD) and a 19" screen to view it all on :)

Think about it, it can do whatever a console can, plus more...With a console, you're stuck with this one thing, that's it, a PC is upgradeable and moddable (legally ;)) to the extreme...

Brilliant! I use PC Games at the moment, but its quite a pain in the ass and is quite slow. I love PC Games, so i might just give this a try, Thanks for the info Negative Sun.

Check this site, it's where we're buying all of our computer stuff, it's almost ridiculously expensive compared to what you'd pay in stores or on other sites...

Trust me, it's a lot better than Dell...If you take the time to inform yourself, you could end up paying half of what they would ask you for a system suth the exact same specs at Dell, plus I hate the way they patronise you, bah!

Personally, I don't think the Wii major titles (that are Wii exclusive) have yet to be released. I don't think Red Steel is a great example of a good game that is just for the Wii. I found the game to be "mediocre". Lack thereof, in many aspects of the game.

But, the big games that are just Wii exclusive aren't to be released till later this year. Specifically, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, in which, are not going to be released till Fall of this year.

It is indeed a great band. ;) My favourite song would have to be "Keine Lust". :)

if it had to be one or the other, i would go for the 360. besides, i am liking what Microsoft has planned with the interconnectivity of Xbox and Windows Live. there are some neat things that you could do with that, and i personally would like to lay to rest the whole "FPS games on console vs PC" debate that i get from time to time with a Halo 3 tourney involving PC's and 360's all LAN'ed together. :D

what can the PS3 connnect with?? oh yeah, just the PSP. that is so going to rock.

and, as already mentioned, the 360 has much, much better games available for it, and don't forget the the PS3's Cell Processor is much harder to code for than the 360's hardware. that means less exclusives for the PS3 (if you didn't already notice the "exclusives" hopping over to other consoles) since devs would rather code for more simplistic systems over a complex hardware scheme.

and don't forget the $200 price difference. or $100 if you go for the upcoming 360 "Elite" version. ;)

with the xbox 360 there are two versions the standard which you need to buy the hard drive separate or the pro which comes with two cordless control Internet connection wireless headset windows live TV and media remote and high definition and Internet camera one crappy thing with the 360 you need to update every three months to play the older games like kotor and others

I'm hoping to get the PS3, once the current problems with it are sorted out and when it gets cheaper. So I'm going with the PS3, but I don't mind the Xbox 360. The Wii just doesn't appeal to me and is the most overrated console of the lot.

Overreated? Not by a long shot. My mate has one and it is AWESOME!

Getting back on topic, I would take the 360. Cheaper, has better games plus i'm not that big a fan of Sony.
