lukeiamyourdad
30 years ago, 10 years before I was born, something came out into theaters and took the world by storm. This has become a rallying cry for geeks everywhere. Yes, Star Wars came out this day, 30 years ago. This is not only a celebration of Star Wars, but also of its fans. So say happy birthday to yourself today Happy 30th anniversary Star Wars!
Diego Varen
Happy Birthday A New Hope. 30 years ago, you were first released and I wasn't even born until much later. Now we just need Shem to make a funny screenshot, but until then. "I have a new hope. A new hope for KOTOR III." Once again, Happy Birthday and we could be celebrating this again in 2017. It is also Today's Featured Article on Wikipedia.
Negative Sun
In celebration, I've ordered this beauty: ANH kicks so much behind! I'll never forget the Leia-Han banter, or the wise Obi-Wan words, classic movie, not as good as ESB, but definitely one of the best movies ever. Char Ell
30 years ago, 10 years before I was born, something came out into theaters and took the world by storm... LOL. Well, at least I can say I was born and old enough to run around though I barely knew what was going on at the time. It's funny and kind of weird when I think of the fact that there are people that love Star Wars even though they weren't born when the whole thing started back in 1977. Happy Birthday Star Wars!!! May the Force be with you always!!!

I love bands whose lead singers were long dead before I was even born lol Thanks Pho3nix, I'm looking forward to getting it in the mail!

Pavlos
Hmm... may as well join in, even though we are wishing happy birthday to a film... (does anyone else consider this slightly odd?) Happy Birthday, A New Hope! 30 years of Star Wars... long time for a film series to be going and the fact that it is stronger now than it has ever been makes it even more remarkable. Happy Birthday Frank Oz and Happy Anniversary to Star Wars & Return of the Jedi. I guess I am the first one in this thread that is old enough to see Star Wars on its' original run in the theater. I was just finishing 7th grade.

tk102
I saw ANH in a drive-in theater in the summer of 1978 I believe. I know I went to other movies in drive-ins but Star Wars is the only one I can actually remember.
Jae Onasi
You're forgetting Jae, who I think just celebrated the 11th anniversary of her 29th birthday not too long ago. I was 10 when it came out and saw it in the theaters. I was blown away by the special effects, the lightsaber dueling, and the idea of the Force and Jedi. Watching it on DVD does not do it justice.
