Jae Onasi
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=forde_pat&id=3001214&sportCat=ncf Wow. Just wow. Appalachian State stunned Michigan, in Ann Arbor no less, with this amazing win. I think I'm going to go buy an Appalachian State t-shirt to go along with my Ohio State ones. REDJOHNNYMIKE
Or.... I can't even understand how a school like TSUN thought they could stand up against appalachian state physically. ^_^

Taos
This puts a quick end to Michigan's hope of a BCS championship game. Unless the other top teams lose like 4 games each [which won't happen lol]. Michigan was clearly looking past this game and that's why they got beat. I love a good upset...was very surprised to see it happen to Michigan, but it's a good lesson to every team this season.

Astrotoy7
@That school up north:  @Astro, Umm yeah..... A sport where you get penalties for physical contact... fun fun fun two facts to consider: 1. Fun ?? A stop start game where you need to actually MEASURE how many yards of progress you make and count the amount of times you drop the ball...lolz...sure that's fun 2. Gridiron players are pansies... with all helmets, shoulder and knee pads... I'd love to see them take off their kit and square up against a team like the NZ All Blacks... they wouldnt get past the (pre-match traditional maori war dance) before crappin in their lycra pants. 3. Proof of the Puddin' : no one outside the US cares for Gridiron, ever wondered why ?? At least Rugby(and soccer) is a bit more fluid... mtfbwya
Char Ell
Wow. Just wow. Appalachian State stunned Michigan, in Ann Arbor no less, with this amazing win. I think I'm going to go buy an Appalachian State t-shirt to go along with my Ohio State ones. ***pulls bag off of head*** I couldn't believe it myself. What humiliation!!! What an embarassment!!! Hats off to Appalachian State for a well-played game of course. They do deserve much credit for the win. Where UofM is concerned though I have the feeling that Lloyd Carr needs to win out the season if he wants to coach at UofM next season. Any more losses in the first 5 games of the season and he is definitely history. And if the Wolverines lose to OSU again this year then I predict Carr won't be coaching them in any bowl appearance, assuming the Wolverines win enough games to appear in a bowl game. *** places bag over head again ***
Arátoeldar
Bleah, what an embarrassment. I don't understand how a school like Appalachian state can even stand up to Michigan physically. The one of biggest reason is the limit of 85 football scholarships that was enacted a few years back.
mimartin
Why am I not surprised Jae would bring this up. Be careful you may get more than you wished for when Michigan fires Lloyd Carr and actually hires a coach that can beat Jim Tressel and Ohio State. I can not talk trash about Michigan loss after Texas barely got past Arkansas State 21-13. So congratulations to Appalachian State. And shame on you Michigan for diminishing the shock value of Boise State beating Oklahoma in last years Fiesta Bowl.
tk102
@mimartin: Regarding BSU, I've heard there are two movie plans for that Fiesta Bowl. Thank goodness it really happened, because if it was pure fiction, it might get a review like this. tk102 = Boise native Edit: just to further remind folks what a great Fiesta Bowl that was here is the highlight vid
mimartin
@Tk102 Thanks, I never saw that before. Edit: Thanks also for the highlights; you began to forget how many great plays turn in by both teams at the end of the game till you view it again. I think I'm going to go buy an Appalachian State t-shirt to go along with my Ohio State ones.[/Quote] I'm stealing your idea and I've just ordered a shirt from Amazon to wear to the OU vs. Texas game.Boise State t-shirt
Art Of Betrayal
Bleah, what an embarrassment. I don't understand how a school like Appalachian state can even stand up to Michigan physically. See that is the miss conception of div 2 football, app state has won their national championship for the past two years they are the best team in division 2 football. On any given day under the lights one team can beat another team. And yes i might be bias due to the fact that Corey Lynch plays for app state ( #47) who blocked the kick who i might add had ten tackles that game and it is his 3rd blocked kick in his college career. I went to HS with him. GO APP STATE Oh and i might want to adda nother little thing after i talked to Corey the next day he informed that they played the entire game with 14 offensive players and 13 defensive players, he played every play on the defensive side and still blocked the kick at the end of the game. And yes michigane def had a crap ton more players than APP state and they were all getting subbed all game
Cygnus Q'ol
Wow. Just wow. Appalachian State stunned Michigan, in Ann Arbor no less, with this amazing win. I guess that leaves one less opponent for my Badgers when it comes time to crown this year's BigTen Champ. Ahem, oh, excuse me. Did I just write that out loud. Sorry. That just reiterates the truth of a very old and wise saying: EVERY DOG HAS HIS DAY! I was gonna say "Any Given Saturday", but that doesn't sound right. ...and Astro, I think you're right. I never really noticed it until just now. It's just so much fun watching a bunch of guys run around for three hours and only score one goal. I can't believe I've been missing all of that wonderful athletic drama for so long.
