Commander Obi-Wan Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Interestingly, cheesy title, but I'm sure the movie will make us forget the eccentric name of the movie. I also suggest checking out the Indiana Jones "official" website with all the new information and the awesome Indiana Jones theme song.
Jeff Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Yeah the title could be a little better, a bit too long, but it should be pretty kickass anyway. Looking forward to it.
mimartin Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I have no problem with title. Everyone is going to shorten it to Indy 4 anyways. The only things that curb my enthusiasm for this project are Sean Connery staying retired, Denholm Elliott’s death and the (reported) lack of an appearance of John Rhy-Davies. The reappearance of Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) does help with the lost of those three.
SilentScope001 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 ...How can a Crystal Skull run a Kingdom?
King_Zazu Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 honestly, i cant wait for Indy 4, no matter how cheesey the title is
Bob Lion54 Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Ok, so post do-over... My first reaction was - Stargate already did that, but with aliens! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crystal_Skull_%28Stargate_SG-1%29 I think I said something like "looks like Dr.Jones is following in the footsteps of Dr. Jackson." OH! And I said the title sounds more like an Indy game than an Indy movie. er... lets see... what else... Oh yea, I also pondered if people would accuse Lucas of stealing the idea from Stargate. I said there will certainly be jokes made and probably a few angry fans... Lucas fans are a passionate bunch, after all. I think I concluded that none of that mattered as long as it was a fun movie... which is what Indiana Jones is all about. er... yea. I think thats pretty much what I said first time around.
Diego Varen Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I agree with the title being a bit too long, but I don't care about the title, as long as the film makes up for it. I'm looking forward to it even more now.
Char Ell Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Hmmm... The title seems very Indy-ish to me. It has the same number of words in it as the re-titled original though it does have one more syllable.
Pho3nix Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Suitably cheesy and therefore awesome! Indeed. I'm definitely looking forward to this movie.
Shem Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Suitably cheesy and therefore awesome!Exactly. It wouldn't be George Lucas without a title like that.
spinkle Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 tk nailed it on the...er...skull. first thing that popped in my head was Zork as well. *spinkle lights the candle *spinkle reads the book *spinkle rings the bell *spinkle watches the movie XD
RedHawke Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 My first reaction was - Stargate already did that, but with aliens! How do we not know that Dr. Jones was not the one who found the Stargate! And the little girl who picked up the Ra necklace and later recruited Dr. Jackson wasn't Dr. Jones' daughter? Hmm? *A blaster sound is heard* I apologise for the above text the evil RedHawke clone has been dealt with!
Hayden Kered Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Weird! Hopefully the movie will be better than the title.
Cygnus Q'ol Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I'm sorry to be skeptical, it's my nature. Don't get me wrong, Ford is one of my very favorite actors. There's not much he's done that I don't like. I've been following him since "American Graffitti". However, does anyone else think he's too old for this character? Of course I'm going to go and see it, Spielberg will make it awesome, but I don't want to see another one of my iconical characters get old on screen. They waited too late in changing the first two James Bonds. "You Only Live Twice" is probably the worst Bond of it's time because Connery was old, slow and, well ...old. The same could be said of Moore. What was he in Moonraker, 50? No one can play this character like Ford and I know this, but there has got to be a stopping point at sometime. I mean, make-up artists and CGI can only get you so far. I really hope they don't screw this up trying to cash in.
Master Zionosis Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Exactly. It wouldn't be George Lucas without a title like that. ^^ That's true, I look forward to seeing indie 4
Ray Jones Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Indiana is my teenage time hero. He is soo kewl. And I would really appreciate it, if you, Mr. Lucas, would not make the fourth movie of the series so .. episode-1-2-3-ish. Please. Just make it a stoopi poopi loopi *normal* fourth Indiana Jones movie. Thank you.
mimartin Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 However' date=' does anyone else think he's too old for this character?[/quote']Yea, I thought this movie might be about Indiana breaking his hip and his son taking over the family business. One of the things I love about Indiana is he isn’t a super hero. He gets the bumps and bruises as he abuses his body in pursuit of the mysteries of the past. At 65 years old I don’t know how much abuse that body can still take, but I'm looking forward to spending my money to find out. I really hope they don't screw this up trying to cash in.Spielberg will not allow it to be screwed up.
Q Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 Indiana is my teenage time hero. He is soo kewl. And I would really appreciate it, if you, Mr. Lucas, would not make the fourth movie of the series so .. episode-1-2-3-ish. My sentiments exactly. With Spielberg's involvement, this film might actually fail to disappoint. And please, gentlemen, please make this film for adults, with no cutesy-cutesy BS.
Commander Obi-Wan Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 And please, gentlemen, please make this film for adults, with no cutesy-cutesy BS. I hope and I'm quite sure it will be rated at least 'PG-13'. IIRC, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was the first film to be rated 'PG-13'.
