Indeed.

Work was pretty slow again. Almost too much. The hours seemed to drag by interminably. For a while there I thought the day would never end.

Moved my XBox upstairs after work... though I haven't yet bothered to connect it. Perhaps in the morning,.. before I head off to work.

Practiced some guitar for a change. I need to get back in the habit of that... rather than wasting my life in front of the TV or surfing the 'Net without purpose.

Think I'll go read for a while now, before conking out.

Late nights for the rest of the week... better rest up while I can.

Hhhhmmmnnn... Sounds like a problem. One that I'm familiar with...

Show tonight was mostly easy. (One pain-in-the-ass setup.) Ran long (that sucks...)

Now I have to commute home with Sox fans just getting out of the game. Yippee. :dozey:

My long night just got a bit longer... oh happiness.

Another one down...

2 medium sized jazz bands tonight. I let a student mix... I really didn't feel up to sitting there again today. At least he was actually enthusiastic about being there. He did a good job.

Also: another Sox game. Promises to be yet another crappy commute back home (last night was horrendous...)

Oh well... better get started.

Been listening to some Tears for Fears lately. Their songs have a pretty distict production. Lots of sound, kind of washed out and echo-y, but with distict instrumental riffs still playing a part. I like it.

They were (are?) good players.

The first professional concert I ever worked was them... back in '93. It was a good show.

Busy day tomorrow for me.

1. Go to farmers market and get some fresh local food. (over 100 vendors)

2. Go get free golf clubs, and spend some time on the driving range with friend (Be the first time doing more then minigolf)

3. Look at sailboat and possibly buy

4. Get kitty stuff.. so I have more incentive to get cat.. hopfully get one this month

You can have my cat... she is still a pain in the ass.

Chill day at work. Good thing too... I was pretty wiped out all day.

Got home; took a nap; and am now heading out to a colleague's birthday party.

Gonna be a late night. Good thing I don't have to report back to work too awfully early tomorrow.

Got the XBox hooked back up again. (Finally! )

It's upstairs in my bedroom now. The TV I have it hooked to looks and sounds horrendous, though. This will not fly!

I think the cellar TV is going to have to come all the way up here... eventually. Still way too busy this week to do a lot of hardcore gaming.

But after this week... it's deathmatch time!

I have a lot of frustration and aggression to work off after the last month, let me tell you!

First I thought you wrote 'ceiling TV', and thought 'damn that would be awsome playing some halo or something in bed'

I don't want your cat Ed. I want to get one fresh and new from the factory after it has been weened.. cause then you can teach them some tricks

I got some clubs, driver, 6 iron, pitching wedge, putter. Need to find a 9 iron and 3 iron

I got the sailboat for $700. Even after 12 years the sail is still crisp and the lines look to be in good shape.

Going to go out to the driving range tomorrow

As soon as i get some money back from the government I wont have any excuse to not get a cat

That would be awesome... but this TV is HUUUUUGE! I hate the thought of even picking it up by myself.... suspending it from the ceiling is not much of an option.

But my bedroom TV is on death's door. The image is one big, faded-color blur. The sound is pretty shot. The remote doesn't even work anymore. Not much fun for playing high-def games...

The TV in the cellar den is probably just as old,.. but in much better shape. The big problem with it (besides the aforementioned size and weight, that is...) is that it doesn't have any line-ins. Just the co-ax feed. Which means that I'll have to bring up the VCR as well, so that I can plug the game through the line inputs on the VCR to get into the TV. Kind of a pain-in-the-ass...

Yesterday at work was OK. A lot of weird jazz. Let a student mix again. It was his last shift with us ever,.. and he asked if he could. I didn't put up much resistance.

Gotta go in this morning to set up an orchestra rehearsal. Yippee.

Oh well... should be a short, easy day for me... in theory.

I had one of those for my Gamecube with that TV. Looked terrible. Never worked right for me.

Running the inputs through the VCR looked fine.

If I just say "**** it!" and buy the new Hi-Def TV for the livingroom then I'll avoid all this hassle, as the good livingroom TV can come up to the bedroom. That has line-ins (but also a busted speaker...)

I just don't know if I'm willing to blow that much money at this point, until I pay off the credit card for the plane tickets, the cellar work, an eye exam and new glasses, and some new clothes... all of which I need more than a new TV... unfortunately.

I hit my first golf ball....

I did some practice at the driving range, only good get a good hit with a 6 iron. Kept hitting the ball too high tho. Had some consistant hits tho, went about 100 yards.

I have my doubts about golfing for a whole season. Especially for $30 a game.

Work was a snooze-fest. Giant orchestra on our stage, rehearsing Howard Shore music. Once it was set up, I really had nothing to do but wait for the other manager to show up and take over from me.

Fortunately for me, the stage is now set up for tomorrow night's concert, which is a different orchestra. Sweet!

Got home; ate; napped; and am now thinking about trying to tackle some very blurry XBox.

*Sigh*

This would all be so much easier if I had a broadband connection in the livingroom...

Well... as long as I don't mind not being on Live, I can use the good TV...

Otherwise: I would have to buy a very long ethernet line, and then pull cable through the walls of the house (again.) Or a wireless adaptor for the XBox... both of which seem like a more hassle and overkill for the amount of gaming time I actually have to spend at the moment.

However: My mom lives downstairs from me, and we share the livingroom... so she has control of that TV most of the time. I already know she wouldn't be too thrilled about me making it a game station.

I'd have to run the volume almost off as to not keep her awake at night with it too... so that is really not much of an option.

genereally if you topping the ball alot you are pulling your head early.

I am not a great golfer, and haven't played in years......but I remember what my gold pro used to tell me about hitting :D

yea that is what was happening. For a beginner it is not easy to stay "stooped" over. Nice thing is with my martial arts experience I know what I am doing wrong when it happens, i just need to teach my body to do the right thing constantly.

And i am quite surprised at the amount of hooey, superstition, pretentiousness, and bad advice that permeates the golf world.. i need waders to sift through it all

I've seen a bowling coach recently in an effort to find things about my game to work on, and a drill he suggested was one where you lay a dish towel on the lane in front of the foul line (long side parallel to the foul line) and try to get your ball to clear the towel. I've been getting better at the drill...today, I only had 6 shots in 3 games that moved the towel, and half of those came near the end when I was getting a bit tired. :D

I just got done with another stint at a driving range (one of the top 100 in the USA) and i did a WHOLE lot better. I don't know if it was the range itself, or that I didn't have a person watching over me. Almost every time i used my iron, I hit the ball. Then i practiced with my driver, it was a rough start but i started hitting it 200-250 yards out, tho i had a slight hook on most of my shots.

The biggest key for me was RELAXING. When I zoned in on the ball, and just thought about hitting it, and not hitting it with force I did great.

The best part was when I decided I was going to use my iron for the last 10 balls and gave my driver one last shot. WHACK! it went straight, rose up about 15-20 feet in the air, and it went for over 250 yards. Even the guy next to me gave a slight appreciative chuckle considering how poorly some of my other shots were.

my hands are a little sore.. but man.. that was a huge confidence builder for me.. tomorrow i have my first golf game
