Rinku Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Yeah TK's right we would still have to kill cows to make the hamburgers lol.
vader815 Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 as long as they don't genetically alter it (which they can do) without FDA approval... I see no problem with it. so i go yes.
DeadYorick Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 How do you figure on either point? We're cloning cows not hamburgers. What I meant was that we could finally create enough meat so we couldn't go overboard with killing cows and eventually wipe it's species off the face of the planet.
JoeDoe 2.0 Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 so we couldn't go overboard with killing cows and eventually wipe it's species off the face of the planet. Cows extinct? McDonald's would never allow that to happen
DeadYorick Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Cows extinct? McDonald's would never allow that to happen People thought that with the Dodo and look what happened with that. If cows died out Mcdonalds would find a meat alternative. Like some chicken injected with steroids and random chemicals to taste like beef
El Sitherino Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Cows won't go extinct unless some land is destroyed.
LargoLaGrande Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Since you probably won't know whether the food you gonna eat is cloned or not, you got no choice...
Rev7 Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 I don't think that I would mind eating cloned food, as long as it has the same exact taste, and the meat has no problems with it. I chose, "Yoda". I don't see the practicallity of it though. Cloning an animal is a lot more expensive than just raising one. I don't think that I would mind trying it though...
LargoLaGrande Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 I don't see the practicallity of it though. Cloning an animal is a lot more expensive than just raising one. says who? Remember, that by cloning an animal you got the possibility to pick the best and strongest cows or whatever to clone, and afterwards there will be no weak animals anymore on your farm.. good for the farmer, bad for the cow, cause cloned anymals are not the healthiest..
tk102 Posted January 20, 2008 Author Posted January 20, 2008 cloned anymals are not the healthiest It's a good point. If you can imagine an entire herd of cattle or an entire henhouse consisting of genetically identical animals, then you can also imagine the vulnerability to a single strain of flu or other malady. It's like not diversifying your stock portfolio. So what will farmers of clones do? Pump up the animals with vaccinations and antibiotics of course. Yum!
jawathehutt Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 As long as no body goes turnin into zombies and the such, Im fine. If they do, good thing Ive prepared...
Hallucination Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 I'm fine with it only if the original animals were bred for delicious.
urluckyday Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 Just something weird about it...probably not.
Halo_92 Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 food is food unless its radio active, gay, poisoned, green, or abstract in any shape or form.
jawathehutt Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 food is food unless its radio active, gay, poisoned, green, or abstract in any shape or form. But what about Soylent Green, its so good.
Ray Jones Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 So what will farmers of clones do? Pump up the animals with vaccinations and antibiotics of course. Yum!Not like they're not doing it for "normal" animals too.
El Sitherino Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 You could always get organic cloned cow stuff.
Darth Xander Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 I would not eat Yoda, cloned or not. I voted yes, since I most likely would eat cloned food. Not necessarily by choice, since you never really know where the food you buy comes from. Why wouldn't you eat Yoda? He is sooo tasty
Darth_Xasthur Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Why wouldn't you eat Yoda? He is sooo tasty First off buddy, way to have a name that looks like mine. Only im not too sure who xander is. My name : Darth Xasthur, thats a symboy for me as a person. I like starwars, so there is the darth, and i love music, and asthur is a death/ black metal band. O yah, my point is, cloned or not ,im a fat kid, so ill eate anything. IM glad to see the majority will so the same. You can also not eate yoda, he would kill your face.
Serpentine Cougar Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Cows won't go extinct unless some land is destroyed. Forests are already being destroyed to make room for cows....
