@Quanon - I have found that using the cut tool or the slice tool to make circular/other complex shape dents takes forever, using booleans saves a lot of time and hair pulling :).

 

Ow, yeah circles can be a pain in the **s.

I know another technique, though I'll have to redo it myself, before I can explain it.

 

Its been awhile since I used it, though I think you'll like what it can to add circular things or any shape you wish to "beam" onto another 3D shape.

 

Then ofcourse its your choice if you extrude -100 for pits and dents or +100 to pull the shape out.

 

But I'll have to look at it first, else I might give some bad advice...

 

 

And yeah that pyramid is sleek, radeant sexy as hell !

So anyways, getting away from Coruscant now, I have started work on the outer areas of that temple I was building earlier. This is the planet Croitia, which you can see from the planets section on the website. It is a purpleish planet so you will understand the color scheme. Here are a few early renders:

1) Hi, CC. I'm guessing another TG forumite came by. Its me, BIOS :)

 

2) AFAIK, there are only 3 Beta testers (Me, and 2 other guys who might not have accounts here. They probably do...) So theres a pretty good chance of being a Beta.

 

Actually, the whole team can test it according to Doc.

Marius Fett has it right, I am always accepting beta testers. So Commander Clone, if you would like to beta test for the mod, I would be more than happy to help you out there. Just send in an application at our forums and I will sign you up :).

Hello there Doc. I remember the "Rise of the Sith" mod. I've seen the old trailers you had uploaded into KotORFiles. Nice to see you coming back into the modding scene.

 

I've read mostly the entire topic, and I am shocked (in a good way ;D). Your creations are beautiful. I can't wait to see the when the mod is done. I know it's gonna take time and that it's coming when it's done but, if possible, I would like to beta-test it.

 

Seeing how you can create such beautiful environments for the game is making me interested in learning how to do it. Time to begin searching for tutorials! =D

 

Anyways, keep up the awesome work Doc! :D

good lord, this looks amazing. i especially love coruscant, it's exactly how i would imagine an apartment in an affluent section of the city :D

 

one think i'll suggest is toning down the saturation in the temple and on the new planet? they're a bit unrealistically vibrant at the moment - in the my opinion of course :D

Update

 

Sorry for the long time it has been since I have updated the thread. A lot has been going on lately so I haven't had the chance. Things are still moving along quite smoothly with the mod. I expect to have something very big for you guys by the end of July :). Right now I had to reformat my computer and had problems getting it working again, but now everything is back in ship shape and progress continues. I will be showing you pictures of the Players Ship soon.

Okay so I have made some progress in the Croitia area. Gave the temple some neon goodness, only now it looks like a neon version of the Luxor :/, but I guess that is not such a bad thing, I actually rather like it. I have also placed some boulders and rock archways here and there throughout the module, I think it is coming along quite well. See for yourself

The temple really stands out with it's neon lights in this rocky and barren world, but I guess that's the point. The temple looks really amazing. Good work. I agree about the beam, though it wouldn't really bother me should it stay that way. :)

The beam could do with a little more work; it looks abit flat atm.

 

Perhaps some small Gradients on the sides in the Alpha channel might help to make its less a HARD cut.

 

Or, hmmmz, CM_Bright might give this extra stronger glow, IIRC it does that.

Though I could be wrong.

 

Anyway, looks ACE Doc !

 

Man, if all our mods are going to get released K1 and TSL will be flooded with new build areas to explore :p

 

What a prospect to look out to !
