[spoiler] Do you do roleplaying in K1?

For an example my DS character gets his name changed by KSE to "Darth Revan" after Malak tells truth about his real identity. I also acquire Darth Revan's robe for him (modded one with hood and cape) + red saber in right hand and purple in left hand. Looks so damn cool! :)

How about you? Do you do roleplaying in KOTOR?

I have during my only play through. Playing as myself, I was a smart-assed, dex guardian. Doing very few DS things, some neutral, and a lot of LS things. Not because it is "right" to do them, but because in rl, friends>>>cash. At the end though, I went all DS. I know that if I could get a lot of power and a decent gal (especially after a long, lonely, time on a ship). I would do quite a lot to make it happen, intending to use it for good (simply because I'd like to be known as the saviour of the galaxy).

I do enjoy role playing in KOTOR. Sometimes I play as my self (a LS gaurdian) or sometimes I play as another star wars character, such as Tenel Ka ---> a strength based female gaurdian who always picks the harsh unemotional lines. Once I even played as Chloe O'Brian from 24 (she's in my sig). A mostly neutral/ LS scoundrel/sentinel who always picked the smart ass lines and maxed out computeruse. Not the best build, but still a fun playthrough.

I definately roleplay when I play KotOR. Sometimes I just stick to the lightside (I actually do this more than I play on the darkside), and then sometimes I just stick to the darkside. Normally when I do play the game, I choose to stick to one side, and only do LS or DS choices. I guess that I should really expand my horizons, thinking about it...

Just curoious about the others who play as themselves' date=' what major choices did you make/kind of character where you?[/quote']

There were no real major choices that defined me because k1 doesnt give that many. I guess I was generally a do gooder, but that didnt stop me from doing things like the bounties on Taris, lying to get Sunry vindicated, and doing the death match with Starkiller. I mean the Sunry thing is considered wrong but seriously the sith lie enough so why should I sacrifice one of the good guys just because he killed a bad guy. Its things like that where I follow my own ethics rather than the developer's. I was generally nice to my party members though I let Bastilla have it when she was being critical and purposely annoyed her by hitting on her.:D Those are just the kind of things I would do in real life if faced with those situations. Oh and I guess I pick the PC that looks most like me.

Although I was LS I pursued the romance story with Bastila whenever possible. I also went after Bendak, and bent the rules for Sunry. I did not do the bounties on Taris though. I felt like that was more in-line with my true self, however. I just tried to choose what I would have chosen if it were real.

I do that all the time. In fact, I won't roleplay for my first two games (Male LS, Female DS), which I consider as "my" canon. After that, everything I do, I try to put me on the character's place, just doing what I would do if I was there - or roleplaying. ;)

Sometimes I roleplay, sometimes I'm sort of goofing off along the way. On my second-last playthrough of KOTOR 1 my name was Kahn the Nefarious, and I usually went around with a mod that gave me a fedora and other out-of-universe things.

On my last playthrough, my name was Kahn the Second (also known as Kahn the Black), and used a mod that gave me a business suit. I also changed the dialogue files so they allowed me to insult the Selkath judges and although I was light-sided, I poisoned the giant shark just so I could laugh at the judges. Go figure.

It's a roleplaying game; just by playing it, you're roleplaying.

/sarcasm

I only played it once, but the way I played was that I picked the choices that seemed like they would lead to the most interesting story.

Perhaps roleplaying isn't the right term use, but my english isn't so good, so i didn't come up with better term to use about this matter.

Anyway i also play this game by making choises that seem interesting or solving things and problems in my way.

My first character in K1 was LS female Revan who did follow the light, but i also made choises that i was unsure about them were they LS, neutral or perhaps even DS.

For an example i didn't give any money to Griff, because i felt that he didn't deserve anything being so untrustworthy and because he dumped Mission to Taris.

I also saved Sunry in his trial, because i didn't think he deserved death sentence. He kills one sith, so what? My character kills them all the time + I felt sorry for her wife, so i even manipulated witnesses which maybe considered as a DS act just to save him because i felt it was right thing to do.

This is because i love Kotor 1, unlike in K2 everything is in black and white.

From the rest of your post it sounded like you think K1 is less black and white than K2' date=' so I don't think it was a mistake on your part. I however disagree, hence the "fixing":D[/quote']

Yes, i actually mean that K2 is in black and white, not in the other way.
