Vocalist Ronnie James Dio

Lead Guitarist: Gary Moore

Slide Guitarist: Derek Trucks

Bassist: Stu Hamm

Drummer: Neil Peart

Keyboards: Jon Lord

Fixed.

Excellent choice! I forgot about Geoff. I'd also have to include John Oliva (Savatage) on vocals.
I was never much into Savatage, but Geoff and Rob Halford with their 5 octave ranges kill me every time. Priest is on tour right now and playing Vancouver on July 24, IIRC. SO there.

Have you heard the rumors of the heavy metal "Three Tenors"? Supposedly, Tate and Halford would join with Bruce Dickenson (Iron Maiden) to record and tour. I doubt that it will ever happen, but wouldn't that be a concert to see?

The ultimate band already exists...

@OP: You sure like your metal, don't you? Try branching out sometime, I promise you it's rewarding.

hey look at that davin, you're on my ignore list in this forum too! i think like the ignore list message in rd's color scheme better though.

What did I do to earn the wrath of the internet's saviour anyways?

Lead singer: Mick Jagger (longevity),

Robert Plant (range and stage prowess)

Geoff Tate (pure vocal power and tremendous control)

Lead Guitar: Jimmie Hendrix, no if's, and's or but's.

Rhythm Guitar: Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn can fight it out.

Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen and Santana are on standby.

Bass: Stanley Clarke was the best bassist to ever pick up that instrument.

Drums: Tony Williams was arguably the most talented drummer that EVER

lived. Most people don't listen to Coltrane or Miles Davis, so I'll skip

him and say that Steward Copeland and Neil Peart can battle it out.

Piano: Herbie Hancock, Prince

Background singers: Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin and Shaka Kahn.

Valet/sidekick: Jerome

I could care less who was in every other position as long as Steve Walsh was the vocalist.:urpdude: Well, maybe like, that John Denver guy could be the guitar positions... (all of them at once, of course). If there was a violinist spot there, I would also add the Kansas, well, violinist. Have you listened to The Pinnacle? That instrument practically sings along.

Hmph. Okay, if we're counting dead people too, here's my All-Dead band:

Vocals: Duet--Bon Scott and Janis Joplin.

Guitars: Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Bass: Jaco Pastorius or John Entwistle.

Drums: Bonzo.

Oh, and I'm adding someone to my first list.

Remix Engineer: Al Jorgensen.

Hmph. Okay, if we're counting dead people .

Even though I already used one dead person I'll replace that dead person with another. Lead Guitar: Robert Johnson

Vocals: Duet--Bon Scott and Janis Joplin.

Guitars: Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Bass: Jaco Pastorius or John Entwistle.

Drums: Bonzo.

I can't argue with any of those. Nice picks.

Rhythm Guitar: ... Stevie Ray Vaughn can fight it out.
And I call myself a Texan and I left Stevie off my original list. I saw him a couple times in the early to mid 80’s at the Austin city Coliseum. He made my ears ring for a week. Ah, good times. :D

Aaaaack. Check that. Addendum to my all-dead band:

Substitute Gar Samuelson for Bonzo. Just because I've been sick of Led Zeppelin since about 1988. Was just flipping through wikipedia the other day looking for dead musicians. Did you know one of the guitar players from Ratt died of AIDS and weighed about 400 pounds when he died?

There's also a musician (stage)named Dead. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_(musician)

For your edification.

Alpine Valley, Wisconsin. Not too far from my home.

I should have been there for what turned out to be his last show.

...and an extremely awesome show, from what I was told.

Eric Clapton, SRV and Robert Cray torched the stage for over four mind-searing hours.

I had just almost gotten fired for ditching work for a previous Rush concert.

I was on thin ice. So when this show came around, my boss wouldn't give me that night off and told me if I went to it, I was fired.

I really needed that job at the time so, reluctantly, I missed the show.

If I could borrow H.G.Well's invention for a while, I'd definately go back and get fired.

Looking back, that job was hardly worth it and I'd much rather have seen the show.

...his last.

If I close my eyes, I can hear Little Wing right now.

Alas, yes, I heard about Robin Crosby's health before he died. I always liked him. He was a tall dude like me. 6'5" I think.

Did not notice this till today. Are you talking about Jerome “what time is it?” Benton formerly of the group “The Time”? If so he can teach everyone to dance the “Bird.”

Vocalists: Either, David Draiman and Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil) or Hetfield and Scabbia. (Yes, I AM in love with her, hahaha)

Guitarists: Lead - Paul Allender (Cradle of Filth) or Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi ... Duh! :p)

Rhythm - James Hetfield

Bassist: Flea

Drummer: Vinnie Paul (Yes, I liked Pantera BEFORE they were cool..)

Keyboardist: Janne Wirman [(Children of Bodom) .... Man, I love Children...]

Triangle: Meeee!!!!! (I am a GUN at Triangle!)

Anyway ... those people would create a band so awesome that God herself would be jealous.

Lead singer: Since I like the woman's voice over the man's I would go with Amy Lee, Melora Creager, or Doro Pesch

If I had to choose a guy it would be David Lee Roth just for the entertainment value

Lead Guitar: Slash (so many to choose from but I like his style)

Bass: Flea

Drums:Neal Peart (best drummer I've ever heard and I didn't listen to Rush much growing up)

I love Amy Lee's voice, but I am an old fan of Doro Pesch. She can really belt it out!
