Rev7
So I'm sure you all know Michael Phelps already broke an olympic record, and now he's going to win more gold medals than any one ever in swimming. That was amazing. The Volleyball match was a heartbreaker. :/ I have to say that those drummers where really impressive. Awesome. Today I watched the end of the mens bike race, a lot of swimming, and the volleyball match.
DarthAve
That was a pretty tense race for the swimming. The best was during the medal ceremony Phelps got all teary during the national anthem. One of the things I'm super pumped about is Men's Gymnastics. I originally wasn't gonna watch, cause I dislike Paul and Morgan Hamm, but when I found out Morgan dropped out and was being replaced by my boy Alexander Artemev, I was so there. I'm extremely happy that the men made it into the all around team, and Jonathan Horten and my boy Alex made it into individual all arounds. Than some other guy made it into indivuidual for, I believe, parallel bars, and Alexander, the beast he is, is in individual pommel horse. I thought the guys were supposed to suck without the Hamm twins?? HUH WORLD, HUH??? Anyways, tomarrow is women's qualifications, and with 5 years of world champions (2 for Shawn Johnsen, 3 for Nastia Liukin) I think US Women are gonna go far... Especially if Nastia does her special move on the balance beam where she does a front flip and lands on one foot, she is so awesome!
Rabish Bini
and now he's going to win more gold medals than any one ever in swimming. Pfft, no-one can touch the Thorpedo, the one whose name is Ian Thorpe.

Wait, the prelim where he broke the OR was tense? Or the final where he broke the WR was tense? When Lochte touched before Phelps after the first backstroke 50 I had a fit. Phelps demolished him in the breaststroke though, which was a bit surprising. Pfft, no-one can touch the Thorpedo, the one whose name is Ian Thorpe. Yeah well, the Aussies are the only people remotely close to matching us in swimming. Luckily the Thorpedo's retired _EW_
mur'phon
Watched the 96 and 2000 para olympics, then my cousin stopped participating, after that I got bored with it (it might also have something to do with not traveling to the event anymore). Astor
Hmm. We (Britain) didn't do too well with the Dressage - I guess I'll just have to place my hopes of some Equestrian success in eventing and cross country. Here's hoping.

EnderWiggin
This actually deserves a double post - did anyone see the 4x100 Men's Freestyle Relay? Oh My F**king God is the perfect expression. Anyone who didn't see it but would've liked to should find it on Nbc.com or somesuch. It was ridiculous. Broke the world record by 4 seconds. <3 American swimming. That's one thing we're damn good at. That was the most unbelievable thing ever. As you can tell, I'm still awestruck. _EW_

I love the fact that the French talked trash against us on how they're going to smoke us and got beat and the way they got beat was just awesome. I just have to say after that, "USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA,!!!!!"
jawathehutt
I completely agree, thats why I love swimming, there arent many other sports where things like that can come down to that small of a time difference. And Im also quite happy about our domination in water polo, huzzah for the only 2 sports I have some talent in.

Rabish Bini
If the Thorpedo was still around he'd have no chance at 8 golds, luckily for him, Thorpie's retired.

Yes, we beat China, but teams like Hungary will demolish us. The United States hasn't won the water polo gold since 1904. _EW_

How Lezak's able to catch up to Bernard is beyond me, but that was incredible. It'd be really cool if Phelps got 8 Gold medals, but it'll be very difficult, I think. DarthAve
Men's Gymnastic's team won bronze... I cried during the ceremony. Everyone totally underestimated them, and I was like "C'mon guys! You can do it!" And they totally did. When Sasha Artemev clinched that bronze with that spectacular pommel horse routine, That was the absolute highlight of my olympic expierence so far.
