RPG's in which you can play as a female character

I hearby claim that people should not be allowed to play online games

There are a fair number of exceptions, obviously, but a fairly large number of the people I encounter when playing multiplayer games tend to be obnoxious, irritating or extremely childish. Though I guess they could be a vocal minority and you just tend to notice them more than others. :)

you'll find that many girl gamers play MMOs and such undercover (like, say, play as a male character under a male name) because they don't want to deal with the BS that male gamers tend to throw at them.

This has been my experience as well. Though I guess that when games where voice talk or ventrilio becomes more and more common and expected that kind of anonymity will be harder to maintain.

Girls sometimes wont play a male character and will refuse to use voice chat... and so take the bashing of actually being a guy. Until they get sick of it and make all the harrassers eat crow. lol

Honestly, I dont really see how its anyones business if some one plays the opposite sex in an online game, or even a single player game. Why do you care so much? So what if someone is giving them free stuff and money? Jealous? lol. Its not your stuff and money they are giving away.

Also some people like to play the opposite sex because its ROLE PLAYING. Its an exercise in the imagination... and sometimes, you cant even tell, unless the person says so.

You know, I think the best MMORPG's are the military ones, where simply, you shoot the enemy...well, mabye not so much an MMORPG, but an MMO..

I'd have an AK-47, mowing down all these people, then suddenly, someone shouts,"Don't shoot me! I'm a girl"

I respond with a grenade often, mostly due to the fact that there are no girl characters in the MMO, and therefore, no need to be too careful...trigger happiness is fun...:D

It isn't like male gamers are any better. When I played WoW, it was all "show us pixs!" , "t**s or gtfo", and other lovely demands. The typical "male" talk doesn't help that much either in Vent and Chat. I put up with it, personally, but you'll find that many girl gamers play MMOs and such undercover (like, say, play as a male character under a male name) because they don't want to deal with the BS that male gamers tend to throw at them.
Oh Avery would you really have it any other way. >:3

What's wrong with the Gullwings? I enjoyed staring at Yuna's rear-end for the multitude of hours that it took to finish.
The Gullwings themselves are amusing, desu. The game was quite the contrary, though.

I notice this as well, but this entirely depends on how story oriented the game is. Having a male character does not guarantee you a good story; Halo and Gears of War have atrocious storylines.

Indeed, but considering the amount of games with male leads is the crushing majority, some games are simply meant to bomb somewhere down the road. While games featuring a female as the main are much less common.

I dunno, I liked the gameplay mechanics. The dress sphere gimmick was just the classic job system repackaged. Sure the story was a little weird, but I enjoyed actually playing the game.

I didn't. =\

Yeah, it was supposed to be ingenious, the dresspere changes on the heat of battle were pretty much like changing jobs real-time, with a few tweaks on the ATB here and there. Still, the game didn't suck me in at all. No atmosphere, no plot. It did kill some fond memories I had of Spira, though, being that the reason I prefer to pretend X-2 never existed and Tidus, well, share Aerith's fate.

I'm sorta with Niner on this one, yea the story wasn't great, but it was still fun to play for me. Plus with all the dress spheres, you got to see the Gullwings in a nice variety of apparel :naughty: The only thing that really pissed me off about X-2 was that they changed the Blitzball mini-game... *RAGE*

That and the coin game was just plain boring.

Makes me glad that Bioware and Obsidian made female models, but also drags out the fact that for most of the male models, are nearly the same as the ones on that image. Seems like most of these developers think that the character design is second rate to the plot and level design, even when it does concern a male.

And it doesn't scare me that most of those character design are disgustingly similar, it scares me that the meaning behind it, means that the majority of the gaming populace, likely males, need the bald or near bald hulking guys to play their RPGS, not a character who has a serious hairstyle(meaning not just various levels of straight short hair), and a memorable image that isn't done over fifty times afterwards.

Maybe I've said it before, but give me a rpg with a girl as the player, and i'd just pop the game in and immerse myself in the story, rather than scoff and not play it.

I made a female blood elf paladin.

And some bloke started hitting on me as soon as i logged it.

I'd love to blame the Americans for this failure of humanity, but I'm in the European realms. So wtf?

I stick with the ban all girls motion and then the problem will go away. :xp:

Honestly, it's not like guys have very many hairstyles in the first place, a lot of those charecters are military charecters too, meaning that they really have only one choice of hairstyle.

And don't even talk about any anime hairstyles, imagine how scary the Crysis:Warhead guy would look with Clouds hair style.

Honest to god though, Altair shouldn't be on that list, nobodies see's his face, and he's not some generic characters. I really enjoyed Assasins Creed, despite it's absolutely terribad combat system, seriously, once you were able to parry + instant kill, the game got pointless till a boss.

Fallout 3 allows you to play as a female character, but 90% of the mods for it are steel bikini mods, or female nude mods.

Same goes for Oblivion, or any Bethesda RPG, and it's mods. Just check out Fallout3Nexus or TESNexus's top 50, theres like 4 nude mods for Oblivion alone, all female of course.

Fable 2 allows you to play as a Female Character, in fact my main charecter in fable is female. It wasen't my first charecter, it was my second that I used to eff around in the towns. My main guy was cool and all, till I found a pie stall and ate the inventory, it's way to difficult to get "un-fat" in that game.

They are all inherently homosexual looking, I agree.

And It would have made much more sense to make them alliance and have something else for the horde.

And just not make Draenie -.-
