Interesting. Navies are usually a seperate service (like the navy is part of a military, but not of the army). I know it was the British (ie Royal)Navy (see original post)

p.o.ed is pissed off (I'm sure Britain has interservice rivalry.....If not, that'd be unreal, my bad.)

It's certainly an impressive haul. Congratulations to the crew of the Iron Duke for catching it.

thats kinda wat i ment. the navy is part of the military but i've been brought up to believe tjhey are the same thing...sorta...i kno there is the S.A.S and The Army And the Navy But i would say they are all part of the same army, the British

No, no, no!

There are three separate and distinct branches to Her Majesty's Armed Forces, Delta. The Royal Navy is the 'senior service', followed by the British Army (which can trace its history back to the civil war's New Model Army, and of which the SAS is a part), and then the Royal Air Force (the junior service).

They are part of the same armed forces, but not part of the same 'army'.

Or, in Americanese, it's just like how the U.S.'s military divided into separate branches, each with their own corps, etc.

Hopefully now people can understand it, Astor. :p
