Well i have been working on my latest and greatest enhancements to date. This will defiantly be the last visual enhancement for these planets. I will not be able to top this graphics mod anymore. Keep in mind this game has shared textures so there are some things i cannot help.

I am in agreement with ZimmMaster. The terminal reskin is simply beyond amazing.

 

Will the comic character reskins be optional?

 

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask about that because honestly, those comic reskins are not to my liking. It looks like the textures just got a major cartoonify filter on them. I would prefer to use just the high res textures. I'm sure these will look great on my new 24" 1080p LCD Monitor.

 

EDIT: I have a quick suggestion though, can you change the color of the Kolto Tanks? The way you have them now makes them look like an ultraviolet version of a rainbow.

Xar, do you have to keep releasing these?! My Override folder is going to be bigger than my music folder at this rate! :D

This is great. There were some things I did not really like about your previous release, but now this is perfect. What is the res on your high res textures.

 

Well the plc files are terrible lo res it just a smoothing out and lighter versions.

EDIT: May I suggest something for the PLC files? I don't know what image editing software you are using, but if you are using GIMP, I found this combination of two plugins that work great for enhancing images without it getting all pixelated. One filter is called upsize. The other I this is called LAB Sharpen. You really only need the Upsize one though.

Thanks i'll give the upsize one a look. The plc file main issue is just there 256 and lower. That causes some have to be replaced.

You know Xarwarz, there is only a slight problem: I don't think I'll be able to make a choice between your 2 versions of Peragus since both look so awesome!

 

Well you'll have to try this one to see which is better

 

i'm likin the comic style characters, would you be making an overhaul so that the whole game would cartoonified? i think thatd be quite interesting

 

Thanks and of coarse i would do the whole game that way but thats another mod for another time wont be this year.

It would be possible to animate it, but likely not as good as the things in more recent games. You'd just need to take the texture, and size it so you have more than one square of the texture, which would account for one frame of animation. As you might know, its the method that the fire effects and such that the game has, and a method behind allowing the lightsaber blades to flicker. But if the texture you have is 1024 or higher, as in the base, edited texture, it will be very large, depending on how many frames you want it to use.

 

I'm honestly wondering how your making the textures look like this. Even as they are, they do scream of a clean cut, glowing sci-fi look that I find interesting. Might not fit a planet such as Narr Shaddaa or Duxn, but it still would fit Telos or many of the Planets in K1(don't know if you will do any more with those, I'm just saying.)

As far as KOTOR 1 is concerned no i will not be doing those graphics over but the new sci fi panels should be ready to use in that game just by changing the tsl file name to the kotor file name

I installed the first one you did a while ago and I liked it but some skins looked so detailed it was like I couldn't see! This - IS - STUNNING!!!

 

I have to hand it to you, you are very talented at your Visual Enhancements. Only thing you need to do now is work out a way for us to finish downloading before your next one comes out :lol:

My main problem with this particular door texture is that it looks like all you did was colorize it yellow a little, then apply the plastic wrap filter. In some areas, it looks... all right (such as in that middle circle thing), but in most of it, it doesn't look that good.

It just looks like you took your graphic and blew it up. If you want your graphic to be that high-res, you should re-create it at the size you want.

I just plain don't like these. Mainly because comic-style looks out of place in a 3d world.

This is, so far, the only texture I have no problems with.

This is meant to be a junk speeder sitting on Nar Shaddaa. It looks much too clean. Dirt marks, blaster scorches, anything else. It just looks.. too clean.

I'd say change the gray floor texture blue, to be more in line with the rest of the room.

In the first pic, everything looks all right... but then you turn around and you see...

I can't really describe it. First off, the tanks look like their being lighted by ultraviolet rays, and I'm certain that these people aren't in tanks to get a tan. Second, the whatchamacallit that holds the tanks has colors that are wayyy too flat. Right now, I'm sure the texture looks almost completely red and black. For improvement, I'd say change the whatchamacallits red areas to something similar to the wall next to it or the floor its attached to, give the tubes on the side of it a real tube texture, and the black would be fine in that texture.

 

Ummm... how do you even do this?

he explained what he used a while back. From what I've discerned, he mainly took the stock textures that these programs had, tweaked them a bit, than slapped them on.

 

I'll be interested to see if you improve on this, but I probably won't download. Too devoted to Drewton's.
