Ping
The Beatles, pretty much any of their good songs. I've also taking a liking to some Human League songs ("Don't You want Me Baby" being my fave). Thomas Dobly's "She Blinded Me with Science" is also a fave. I have more, though I forget the artists or the song names. TBH, I rarely listen to any modern music, as the old artists seem to be better, IMO. Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) - Eurythmics ^You have good taste. Totenkopf
If you've ever seen Ford Fairlane, there's a bit in the end where Wayne Newton's charachter delivers a really cynical take on the music industry. Sort of sums up how I look at a lot of contemporary music.
Jae Onasi
Wham?!? They did something good? If that's the criteria, add in stuff from the Monkees, the Bangles, and Wang Chung. Eagles--'Hotel California', along with 'Life in the Fast Lane', along with the rest of the songs in this thread.

Mav
I don't wanna miss a thing - AerosmithAerosmith may be a product of the 70's, but that song is the product of a horrible 1998 movie with Ben Affleck... Also, Queen /thread
Q
^Both the song and the movie that bore it were vile abominations. Wham?!? They did something good? If that's the criteria, add in stuff from the Monkees, the Bangles, and Wang Chung. And every rendition of "Muskrat Love". This thread is fast becoming a "worst" list. Oh, and Pink Floyd. HdVaderII
The Grateful Dead, pioneers of the Jam, made some very good records through the 60's to 80's. The Band (as in the band The Band) is not to be forgotten, and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young all produced some great things, together and apart. Blix
My playlist manages to surprise me each time I update it, as of now it is a mix of the 70's-80's, 90's - current and some Indie thrown in there just for good measure. Some of my notable ones: *On the radio by Donna Summer *Rock you like a hurricane by the Scorpions *I want your sex by George Michael *The Power to Believe by Dream Academy *Jessie's girl by Rick Springfield *Electric Moon by Shakespeare's Sister *We do what we're told by Peter Gabriel *Strange Love by Depeche Mode *Girls just wanna have fun by Cyndi Lauper *Baba O'Riley(Teenage Wasteland) by the Who *Don't Stop believin' by Journey (Some of the best music I have heard has been featured in serial killer bio pics )
Mav
*Baba O'Riley(Teenage Wasteland) by the WhoI dunno why, it's probably irrational, but it pisses me off when I hear people call that song "Teenage Wasteland."
