Rogue15
had a crappy run this morning, did alright on the 1st mile then just sucked it the rest of the way, stopped a few times. very humid out. think i struggled a little because i went running twice yesterday. it's all good though, walked home from there. burning alot of calories and losing weight...hope to get most of my belly fat gone by september. found my mini whiteboard. i can start writing out my schedule for the day on it. I officially have orientation at SAM's on Saturday. Shouldn't be that bad...besides having to walk 2.5 miles to get there, which isn't really much i just hope i am not drenched in sweat by the time i get there. going to go cancel planet fitness membership, get a money order to pay the va hospital, get a haircut, and then go lifting for an hour. when i get home, going to play Skyrim. I have to keep busy i hate staring at the computer screen all day, especially when it's nice out.
Zoom Rabbit
Honestly, I don't mind Winter because of curling season But Overall I rather have summer, more things I can do I'll take winter over summer, thanks. It's easier to get warm by dressing up than it is to cool off. Air conditioner might be cheaper than heater, but I like it cooler, anyway. Also, in the winter you can make snow angels. Rogue15
**** the winter...i don't have a car, and have a 2.5 mile walk to work to look forward to. going to work my ass off so i can have a reliable means of driving myself around, avoiding all the bull**** of waiting around for the bus. got enough workout in today. got my hair cut down to high and tight, i look much better now. haha just hope i can keep at the workout routine once i start working...i think i'll be able to manage it. i don't want to be obese..... You can do it if you just stick to the routine. And remember that your diet really plays much more of a roll in your weight anyway.
Cmdr. Cracken
You can also wear snazzy outfits in the winter and not overheat/sweat through the clothes. Like, I would totally rock vests and collared shirts... but it's too damned hot outside.
Zoom Rabbit
In the winter, I can hide the over-40 muffin top. Not that I have much of one, but dammit! It's there.

Rogue15
The BlasTech Industries DL-44 heavy blaster pistol... I played the happy birthday song on my guitar for about an hour. I think I'll surprise my mom on her birthday with it, by then I shouldn't have any errors while playing it. lmao i guess playing 1 string instead of a chord is easier for me. chords i just make the guitar sound like nails on chalkboard, my fingers don't know their way around the frets and **** that well yet. youtube is awesome. going out for a few beers tonight...going to hit the track hard tomorrow morning, then I'm taking 2 days off to allow for my feet to recover. I didn't think I would be able to take consecutive running days, but I said hell with it and it's paying off. Just need to work on pushups and situps and I'll be good to go on the APFT and then I can sign on for some army schools (squad designated marksman, small arms master gunner, RAVEN, Warriors Leadership Course, Modern Army Combatives Level 2, etc. after I graduate college!!! Or just make the switch to active duty...but then I would REALLY miss my dog. AGR job maybe...then i'd get BAH on top of basic pay...but I'd probably have to reclass my MOS for that, and I love being a scout, so that won't happen. Exciting week up ahead of me...starting my new job on Saturday, and taking a test for correctional officer on Tuesday, then I have 3-day drill starting on Friday. and idk my friends didn't book OCMD for the following week, so god knows if I'll be going there. procrastination at its finest. Think I'll just bail on it, save my money...last minute decisions are damn expensive.
Keyan Farlander
That picture just brings up a question: What idiot propmaster would do that to a C96 'broomhandle' Mauser? I find guns pretty interesting and fun, but I find Star Wars more fun, so I'd say the sacrifice was worth it. Perfect weather this morning for a change. I took the opportunity to run 8 miles instead of my usual 5. I meant to keep doing longer runs one day a week during the summer, but the weather has interfered with those plans up to now. edlib
I'm taking the day off from work... just to sit at a desk and fill out paperwork for dad and make calls all day. Not really much of a trade off. I'd probably be less busy at work...
Rogue15
**** the weather, just get out and do it man, if you're hydrated enough it shouldn't hurt ya. just finished day 5 running 2 miles a day...time hasn't come down much but i'm burning fat, after the 2 miles i walk 4 home. i'm losing the fat around my face and a little bit off of my stomach. i didn't want to go this morning but forced myself to, my feet don't hurt when i run anymore. i do need to start drinking more water though, i'm almost always dehydrated before a run, i drink a bottle of water about 10 minutes prior to running. Wildstar
Really haven't logged in all week, b/c my mind's been occupied. My association's manager, who actually recommended me for the board in the first place, passed away Sunday and we waked him the other day (by the time a lot of you read this). However, the bowling community here got a much-needed morale lift on the night of the wake when a youth bowler buddy of mine bowled his first 300 game in his adult/junior summer league less than a week after coming back from the big national youth tournament in Buffalo. What didn't happen in my bowling world this week? My team didn't win points; but we're still in first b/c the team that was second also lost all eight and another team leapfrogged them into second. Keyan Farlander
Playing some guitar today. I wanted to experiment to see how loud I could get the AC30 before potentially bothering the neighbors, so I got someone to stand outside and help me experiment. Seems about half way at best. I wish I could turn it up all the way, if only occasionally to record. The amp is in an upstairs bedroom, so moving it to the basement would probably help, but I don't want to put my music stuff down there, in case of mold and floods. I've never had a flood, but you know it would happen if I ever actually moved anything nice down there. The master volume on this model is actually pretty dang good for getting overdriven sounds at lower volumes. It's totally fine for practicing and messing around, but if you really want to get that magical Vox tone on a recording, you really have to drive those power tubes and those speakers. A power soak is an option, but that still doesn't help with hitting the speakers hard. An isolation box might work, but this amp runs hot, so I don't know if that is a good idea. Having fun playing, though, and that's the most important thing.
Rogue15
sams club orientation went better than i thought...but i'm put down as a cashier. oh well, at least I will have more interaction with women this way. there's a sweet girl that also got hired on but she works more or less as a floater/cashier, but who knows. The nicest thing about this store is that there isn't really a dress code, very laid back. so i can dress to impress or dress like i don't give a ****. lol Took my mom to see Hercules, it was really good it blew away my expectations. The dilemma of old tube amps... the only way to really get "that" sound out of them is to crank them to lease-breaking, law-enforcement-involving extreme levels. I've only dimed my main amp a couple of times... and that was when we had access to a church building, far out in the woods miles from any other habitation. Made for a good jam spot. This old amp I got from my dad looks pretty sweet... though it doesn't have a master volume, so I doubt I'll ever get to test it's limits. http://ampwares.com/amplifiers/751/
K_Kinnison
about 95% packed for my camping trip Tomorrow, going 8 days primitive style with just a nearby portapotty. But with all the gear i have it isn't that bad. Probably have about $800 worth of gear.
Zoom Rabbit
I've always liked Pete Townshend's way of getting volume out of an amp...
edlib
It's a bit rough on all that vintage equipment, however. Which is fine if you are big enough to be able to find a new guitar and amps waiting for you at the next gig. Those of us who buy and maintain our own equipment tend to baby it a bit more than that...
