Improvements for JK3?

It looks likely that lucasarts will do another Jedi knight (woo hoo!) if they do what would you like to see done better/ changed or even left?

one thing i'd like to see is control over blocking in saber duels, i.e a blocking key which you have to press to parry attacks. also i like a choice over the character you use, or even one you can customise.

I would wrather see a expation pack for JK2... :D yes a block key would make it funner... but I would like to see a larger list of force powers too... dont get me wrong I like the list they have now but... Man MotS had a lot of force and I loved playing with all of it... :D

more stances and moves would be good, as long as they arent like those ridiculous orange and purple stances in jedi mod

Inclusion to an extent of hand to hand combat would rock, as would the ability to throw parts of the map at opponents (like dooku did to yoda)

2 on 2 duels.

visible damage during a fight. ie torn clothing when you get a hit.

Not annoying luke skywalker taunts would also be a bonus

not only nar shadda, but the whole color sceme is different also, where JKI was verry grim and dark, JKII is verry bright colored, even the imperial bases are bright colored!

what about characters, locations or era (pre / post empire)?

i would love to see a level on coruscant and i agree with Jah (not as stronghly though :p ) i would like to see a new main character or even characters so you can choose which one to want to be. maybe they can take a leaf out KOTOR's book and set it before Ep I.

i would love the option or becoming a sith or jedi like in JKI and have alternate endings to give it a longer playing life.

I'd love to see Kyle as a Jedi Master, maybe control him for a couple of levels, and then move on to new characters, who might be his apprentice(s), with their own grim history. Being able to play a couple of different characters throughout could add some real spice (a bit like MotS, but with a more cohesive storyline).

Of course, I'd have to agree about the engine limitations. Using the Q3 engine for JO was okay, but it does have it's limitations - and there are the obvious clipping issues. If a JKIII is being considered, then they really need to think carefully about the engine they're going to use. AFAIK, the new DOOM engine is more focused on internal levels again...so my obvious choice would be the current incarnation of the Unreal engine - or one of the other engines out there that can handle really large rolling terrain. I have to say the karma physics in UT2K3, particularly the rag-doll effects, are superb - right down to the muscle spasms in death.

Put all the options back in too...branching storyline, moral code (dark/light path), etc. Level design with multiple paths. True 'sneak' or 'shoot' tactical play (a la Deus Ex, NOLF).

The other major thing I'd like to see change is either have all CGI cut scenes (with a cinematic feel) or do away with them altogether, and opt for scripted sequences, like in Half-Life - i.e., you are free to move around and mess with the environment in first person while someone gives you information, etc.

Anyways, just some thoughts. ;)

hehe - was just thinking of that meself... BTW, is it Ice hockey you mean? or straight street hockey?

Jk3 yesss......

Expand the saber combat system in every possible way. Get rid of the ugly red stance, motion capture 100's of dozens of new swings - make it customizable in the very meaning of the word, include manual blocking, have each player play it his way, fully customizable blade colors etc...

Force should also be built on, at least so it's changed from using force as just another type of guns, to something more like a tool.

But, saber combat above all.

Hmm... Well I think a voice activated thing (like a microphone that hooks to your PC) would be cool "SO COM NAVY SEALS for PS2" You would be able to give commands to rebel soilders, Make your own taunts (sweetness) And be able to talk in Multiplayers. :)

One problem that really buged me about JK2 is the lack of atmosphere. I found that when you were running around in a huge populated city... i didn't feel like i was running around in a hug populated city.

When Kyle's life was in danger I didnt feel any excitement.

Atmosphere is very very VERY important. Look at Grim Fandango, that game achieved all important asspects for a game perfectly.

The thing that would bring back the exitement of the DarkForces series back to life woulbd be real time cutscenes. No in-game garbage. Using Real actors was amazing... or should I say real GOOD actors. I dont want no Episode 1 and Episode 2 no emotions crap.

However, if they do make a JediKnight3.... i think they need to kill of Kyle. He's become as exciting as a background actor that you walk by in a subway station.

I don't think Kyle is that bad a character, sure he's old and won't be the main character in the next game, but he's cool since he already has developed a past. I guess he'll be used a minor character like Luke was in JO. I don't think they'll kill him off though.

And his beard isn't ugly.

I think it should be a mix of jk1 and jk2. I loved destruction in jk1 and the vast levels where you got more of a vertigo feeling compared to JK2. They NEED the JK1 cutscenes, they gave you that aw feeling when you saw what happened next, not a sphere turning on a cylinder.

Drivable vehicles would kick arse, like when luke pinches a speeder bike or anakin steals the hover car thingy. Vehicles are a big part of the film, why not the game? JK2 meets battlefield 1942?

Choosable taunts would also be pleasant.

Also if the technology is there, why not make it possible for the server to stream audio to the clients like internet radio. Each server could be more like a club of sorts then. Man that would be wicked, DJ jedi's LOL
