Soromonu Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 w00t...just when I thought I was ready to give up on cartoons and read the paper lololololol.....
Hekx Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 I think this is a bad idea. Just another product being released to suck dry the SW franchise.
dark jedi 8 Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 i dont know, it just doesn't look right, the character models and stuff. i am still leary.
JediNyt Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 This doesnt look good. Star Wars selling out to the Cartoon Network of all places. I dont know if I even wanna acknowledge it. Well at least its not cannon. All I can say is...Whatever ...
Naphtali Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 I just hope they don't make the animation ridiculous, aside its not CN came to them, vice-versa, if the anime is good, and the sotry has depth, along with char already used Adi Gallia, plo KLoon then it will be great
Pedro The Hutt Posted February 24, 2003 Posted February 24, 2003 eh, I think Lucas lost it, the creators of the Powerpuffs of all people... if he really HAD to turn it into an animation he should have asked a quality japanese animation production house. (SPE Visual Works for example, responsible for the famed Rurouni Kenshin OVA Tsuiokuhen)
Darth_Rive Posted March 3, 2003 Posted March 3, 2003 I agree, I'd LOVE tp see an animé version of some of, if not all of the Star Wars stories. Imagine the lightsaber duels !!! FOOM! KA-TSCHHHH! ZINNNNG! SHUPEEEEN! Wow. Sorry folks, that looked great in my head.... But seriously, come on, be fair, the cartoon's animation will be great - bear in mind that the people that made "the Powerpuf Girls" (which is a frickin brilliant cartoon!) also made "Samurai Jack" which kicked arse as well. So I don't think the animation's going to be a problem. I foresee the biggest problem being the story, since Mr Lucas will probably have a hand in it somehow.... If he doesn't, then it's got a chance....
Pedro The Hutt Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 You might like to know that Episodes IV, V, VI and I have been turned into manga by now. I'm expecting an episode II one as well sometime >.>
Darth_Rive Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 Yeah, I know, I've got a few of them already. Episode I was also done in one book btw, not sure how good it was, but if it's anything as good as the OT ones, it's probably great. It's an anime version that I really want to see! I mean, as great as manga are, you don't really get the full picture until you see the anime. So if any of you folks from IG PLUS (the guys behind "Blood: The Last Vampire" ) are reading this, get on with it! Please?
Notion Posted March 11, 2003 Posted March 11, 2003 Well I'm psyched about it. I like Samuri Jack, and I don't really like cartoons. I hope they portray the Clone Wars accurately and make it fun. If they do that, then I'm all for it.
Carbon_sleeper Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 please don't flame me here, I know I'm in the minority, but I really can't stand anime. I, for one, would rather see a cartoon be more western. I'm looking forward to it.
Pedro The Hutt Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 Oh yes, there really are millions and millions of anime fanatics on here >.> anata wa bakana. XD
Darth_Rive Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 Umm, "Domo arigato, Misuta Robotoo-chan. Baka neko! Otobai. Watashi.... " <Rough translation "Thanks very much Mr Robot. Stupid cat! Motorbike. I...."> Ok, so that's about all the Japanese I know, and it's probably spelt completely wrong and grammatically incorrect. Aaaaaand it doesn't actually mean anything. I can count to (I think) 99, though.
platypus202 Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 I don't think it is a good idea. I think it will be a major flop.
TerribleDeli Posted March 18, 2003 Posted March 18, 2003 Tartakovsky didnt create The Powerpuff Girls. Craig McCracken did (Though Tartakovsky was involved with many of the original "What A Cartoon!"s since he was the first to get his foot in the door and never forgot those who helped get the Dexter episodes going). I'm glad Lucas decided to stay away from anime, there's plenty of good home grown cartoon studios (their main base, not counting the overseas animation that 99% of all cartoons produce rely on). Making it an anime would have just been playing into the hands of anime fans. Tartakovsky's work on Samurai Jack has been nothing but amazing.
leXX Posted March 18, 2003 Posted March 18, 2003 Originally posted by TerribleDeli Tartakovsky's work on Samurai Jack has been nothing but amazing. I totally agree. Dexter and Jack are 2 of my favourite cartoons. Jack is an utterley brilliant cartoon. The visuals, the music, the action, the storyline all combine to make Jack one of the best cartoons ever on tv. I'm extremely glad GL chose Genndy Tartakovsky, I couldn't think of a better person for the job. GL is huge Jack fan too, good taste or what? I think Tartakovsky will do an excellent job and I really look forward to watching them. My only complaint is the length, I mean 2-3 minutes each? WTF?
Pnut_Man Posted March 19, 2003 Posted March 19, 2003 I can see it now: I turn on Cartoon Network, my mom calls me from other room, I run to see what's going on.. The Clone Wars cartoon begins to play, I get back and I see 10 seconds of it..woot...:/
ronbrothers Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 Cartoon Star Wars... sheesh! Cartoon Network??? Arrrgh! Well, I'm a Star Wars fanatic since 1977. Hope it'll be released as a DVD, because I can't sit through Cartoon Network.
dark jedi 8 Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 and at a whoppin 3 minutes long, i'm never gonna know when there on or be able to catch them, i say just skip the series, and make a dvd!
Pedro The Hutt Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 Or even better.... STOP THE PRODUCTION OF IT! =D
SE_Vader_536 Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO! THAT DOES NOT LOOK ANYTHING LIKE STAR WARS !!!!! HOW CAN THEY IMPERSONATE VADER LIKE THAT!
Macbeth2k1 Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 Just adding my vote to the "Waiting for the DVD," group.
Sivy Posted April 23, 2003 Posted April 23, 2003 ditto, when (if) it comes out on DVD i'll watch them. in total there'll be an hours worth, but 3 minutes each episode is pretty pointless.
dark jedi 8 Posted April 28, 2003 Posted April 28, 2003 well there's gonna be 20 episodes, airing November 7, 8.pm(pretty sure thats right.) anyway, there will be 10 in november, and 10 in febuary. and i do hope that they put them on a dvd or something.
