in this thread you can post all the book you liked (or didn't like).

I suggest that anyone who likes sci-fi books, read Ender's Game. if you like that there are about five other books in the series.

for those who like the Rainbow Six game, read Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six (it's really good but very, very long).

for those who like young adult fantasy about necromancers and charter marks, Wes Marrakesh reccomended Sabriel. I read it and it's a very good book.

feel free to post book you think other people should read (or not read);)

I read Rainbow Six within about 4 weeks whilst travelling overseas. It's a very good read, considering the events that had just happened prior to when I was OS in October 2001.

I have read a lot of the LOTR books, not just the LOTR and The Hobbitt, but also Unfinished Tales and The Silmarillion.

Steven King is also a good author, I have one waiting to be read at the moment.

War Of The Worlds, The Time Machine, The Invisible Man, The Food Of The Gods, First Men In The Moon, The Island Of Dr. Moreau by H.G. Wells

The original Conan stories (and many others) by Robert E. Howard

The Swiss Family Robinson by Jonathan Swift

The Warlock In Spite Of Himself by Christopher Stasheff

The original Shannara series by Terry Brooks

The Deryni novels by Katherine Kurtz

The Great White Space by Basil Copper

The Spellsinger and Icerigger series by Alan Dean Foster

The Barsoom novels (A Princess Of Mars, Chessmen Of Mars, Thuvia Maid Of Mars etc) by Edgar Rice Burroughs

The Lost World by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Anything of the CTHULHU mythos by H. P. Lovecraft

Any of the works of William Shakespeare

The Forge of God, Eon, Eternity by Greg Bear

Any of the Robot stories of Isaac Asimov

They Walked Like Men, The Fellowship Of The Talisman, City, and anything else by Clifford D. Simak

The Dark, The Fog, The Rats etc., by James Herbert

Magician, Silverthorn, A Darkness At Sethanon (and others) by Raymond E. Feist

Elric Of Melnibone etc, by Michael Moorcock

"The Count of Monte Cristo" is a really good book. it's a great adventure story, and the character development is fantastic. Make sure you read the unabriged form, though.

Oh, and don't see the movie!! It stank!

Remeber: Never judge a book by it's movie ;)

Redwall

My all time favorite book. It is about a young mouse novice who becomes a hero while the kingdom lives in is under attack by the evil forces of a rat named Cluny the Scourge.

There are others, but none deal with Matthias so I never really read them...

That's the cover of the 20th Anniversery Edition, the one I own. I have read it at least half a dozen times.

Also, some other good books have already been mentioned here, so I won't bother...

I don't read books...not ever...it's really bad, cos I know I should, but I'm just way too impatient to sit there and look at words. Don't ask me why I can't, I just can't, wish I could though:(lol

That being said, I have read LOTR:FOTR and TTT, those were the best (and only) books I ever read;):DGonna start reading ROTK soon...hopefully...

LotR is simply a beuaty, and a must read.

Ender's Game is an excellent book, when reading it I couldn't get my nose out of it, not even to eat.

The area 51 novels are very interesting, they are about aliens, their contact with humans, and the technology they left on earh 5,000 years ago.

Almost any star wars book you read is good, my favorite is visions of the future.
