C'jais
Let's pretend that you have access to a time machine that can be used to visit the past. Time travel is complicated so you are going to have some constraints: - The machine can only be used to visit the past. The future is not accessible. - When visiting the past, you become an invisible and incorporeal observer. So you cannot go back in time to assassinate Hitler, you are more of a Time Tourist. - After 72 hours, the time machine automatically brings you back to your native time. - After two trips, your time machine wears out and you will never be able to travel in time again. So this brings us to the question: ------------------------------------- Given that you only have two trips, what times and places would you visit? -------------------------------------- Blatant rip-off from another forum

ET Warrior
I'd travel back to the beginning of time to see how things started. And my second trip would be to watch The first NHL game ever...yeah......that would be awesome.
C'jais
I'd probably go back to watch the beginning of the universe, to see if I can get some clues as to how it started (if it started at all). For the second trip, maybe some other great mystery, like Jesus' resurrection or the dinosaurs (how they looked and how they died). If enough people want it, I can easily change the rules to allow for interaction - I was just thinking it'd be too silly (hey, let's go back in time and kill Jesus! Hah! etc). But hey, if people want it, they can have it...
Darth Slayne
First stop for me would be to see how the pyramids of Egypt were built. My second trip into the past would be to witness the Battle of Trafalgar.
Darklighter
For my first trip, I'd visit the stable in Bethlehem where Jesus was born, and watch how the shepherds and three kings visited the Son of Christ. That is one of the most defining moments in all history, and I would want to see how (and indeed, if) it actually happened. Secondly, I'd go back to see the dinosaurs in action. The really big ones that no one categorised in history books, that would be so freaky.
munik
Well, considering the fact that you can't stay except for a limited amount of time, and you can't interact, I'd reckon I would use both my trips to gain some financial knowledge to help me in the present. You know, go back in time to when some spanish galleon loaded with gold sunk, that way I would know the coordinates. Then when I return I go and salvage it, and make some money. Going back for knowledge is a great idea, but if I only had two trips I would use them for personal gain in the present.

And knowledge, as they say, is power. Still solving one of the world's great mysteries would be enough for me, personally. If I could instruct an astronomer in how the universe really began, it'd just be a bonus. Still, with things like JFK, you could really be the hero and still solve one of the bigger riddles yourself. munik
JFK! I knew there was something that I wanted to know if I could go back in time. Yep, knowledge is power, but knowledge of where the stash is buried is more important to me. I guess I would use one trip for my financial gain, and the other for the truth in some great mystery. I would have to think long on that though, JFK would be neat to know but there is most likely something that I would find more interesting..... I will think of something. Rebel_Spy
I'm a soccer fan and also a star wars fan, so my two trips will be: 1. Go to the championship match on Mexico, 1970 (Brazil-Italy) and, 2. When ANH was released I was 1 year-old, so I like to go back and watch the first film on the original trilogy. That's my choice for now, maybe I could change my mind later. EDIT: Also, I will like to go back and see how Fermat could resolve his infamous third theorem without modern math???
ZBomber
I made something like this in RSN, but you had to change 1 thing in the past. 1. I would see the begining of the Earth 2. I would bring a cmera with me and take a picture of Jesus preforming a Miracle... That would show all of you... *rubs hand together evily*

jokemaster
Well, since everyone else here would go to the beginning and the dinosaur age they'll just have to tell me about it 1. November 1963: see who really killed JFK, find evidence, and take it back to the future (pun intended), solving the mistery 2.hmm, probably find some way to make money, probably with gold
