60's and 70's? Man, that covers a lot of bands. It would take me all night to list the ones I like from that era...and I'm not including solo artists. :eyeraise:

Here are some of them...

Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, Status Quo, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Abba, The Moody Blues, Steeleye Span, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, The Animals, The Hollies, The Carpenters, The Shadows, The Doors, Jethro Tull, Judas Priest, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creedence Clearwater Revival, ELO, Hawkwind, Steppenwolf, Slade, Yes, Gerry And The Pacemakers, Cream, The Yardbirds, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Troggs, The Beach Boys, The Seekers, AC/DC, Eagles, Van Halen, ZZ Top, Santana, Hendrix, KISS, Alice Cooper, Aphrodite's Child, Motorhead, Scorpions, Thin Lizzy, Rush, Uriah Heap, The Mamas and Papas, Whitesnake, UFO, IRON MAIDEN (how on earth did I forget one of my favourite bands?!? ), Saxon (just makes it in there from 1979)...

*takes a breath*

:D

HertogJan...Queen were actually established around 1969/1970, believe it or not. Their landmark hit, Bohemian Rhapsody, didn't appear until 1975 and really put them on the map...but before that they had already recorded a few albums, and the well-known track 'Seven Seas Of Rhye'.

[Edit - added a few more :D ]

Try mixing gregorian chants with Klingon psionic death metal. Guaranteed to sterilize sheep at a range of 500 meters at 10 decibels.

Favorite 60s/70s group. All must prostrate themselves and twitch in submission to the awe-inspring thunder of The Who at their prime. Listen to the fourteen minute version of 'My Generation' on Live at Leeds and tell me it isn't true. :D
