Who wants to hear my story? :p

I went roller skating last night for a school thing (I'm going to a new school next year, so its to meet new kids. Pft, I didn;t even do that, I just talked to my old friend for along time :p) Anyway, I was skating around, and then a kid lost his balance. I was just skating along, and next thing I know. POW! He hit me from behind. I fall on my head on the floor (And it wasn't very soft....) So, I just waited there for a few seconds. I was OK. I didn't cry or anything. But my head really hurt. So, for the rest of the ngiht, I just sat down, and my friend came over to talk to me, since I ddin't wanna skate anymore. So, later, it ended. My parents came, I told them what happened, they got really upset, yadada. So, I go home, my mom gives me tylanole. I go to sleep early. (about 10). Then, my parent's wake me up, at about 2 AM. They want me to go to the ER (Emergency Room) I go there, no concusion. That was a huge relief. But my head still hurt, so, they said that I had somethign wrong (it was something minor, I'll find out later) and that I should stay home and just be watched. So, i'm wondering. Have any of you ever had a similar experience, or worse, a concusion?

Indeed, i was running on holiday. I slipped around the swimming pool, my head cracked open and it was gushing out with blood. :(

I was rushed to ER, really quickly. They scared it all up etc, gave me some drugs to ease the pain.

I then was out in about 30 mins, this happend in spain by the way. Where there ER is amazing, so FAST. :D

I then puked up all night, but was better the next day. :) Anyway the moral of the story is: Don't run around a swimming pool. :p

And good luck Z, hope you get better mate. :)

I've had a couple injuries......in wrestling one time we were practicing, and my partner was practicing flipping me off of his back and onto mine.....well he did it really well one time, hard enough that my head hit the mat and bounced off a little....just as my head bounced off somebody ELSE got thrown RIGHT onto the side of my head, bashing my head down hard.

Bad concussion, i was very dazed....

Then one time in Gymnastics i was doing an Aerial Cartwheel (cartwheel with no hands) and I went over too far and landed all my weight on the side of my foot, spraining my ankle REALLY bad...I thought it was broken.

But I hope you get to feelin better Z

I got hit in the head by a softball fom a hit from the batter. Hit me on the side of my head and later I was woossy and had a humungous headache. They checked my eyes. (One way to see if there is a concussion.) and I felt like crap for a few hour each day, but ut got shorter and less frequent.

Yeh, they did that when i went into the ER. They checked my ears too, to check for blleding or soemthig. I also got hit by a baseball hard, once. I was playing outfield, and the ball started bouncing toward me. I tried to catch it, but it smack right in the face. It was going pretty fast. I got a black eye and a swollen lip. It was pretty bad. I started crying when that happned. But then again, I was 10 when that happened. :p

Actually, I'm feeling a lot better now, guys. Thanks for being so kind. :)

i've knocked myself unconscious twice. both times when i was quite young.

the first time was when i had a really tall bookshelf that reached the ceiling. i wanted a book that was on the top shelf so i thought i would climb up to get it. the whole thing collapsed and fell on top of me knocking me out.

second time was when i was playing football (soccer) at school.

i tripped and fell but couldn't stop myself from landing on my face. i was out cold for an hour.

I was quite accident prone when I was young.

not so much now

*elbow slides off desk... chin hits desk.... gets foot caught on wire.... falls back on chair... computer lands on groin 0.0 ...... clicks on 'submit'.... passes out*

Ouch Z! Hope you feel better.

I had a concussion about 2 years ago (High School). It happened after lunch ended and I needed to get to class. I took a "shortcut" to get there. This "shortcut" involved going down to ground level and walking around back to the other side of the school. So I began walking down the stairs (I was on the third floor). I noticed I was REALLY running late so I began to "slide" down the railing. I did this until I slammed into a teacher walking up the stairs. My body smashed into his and I fell the rest of the way down the stairs. I don't remember the rest other than waking up in ER........

Eh, sounds like you got pretty banged up, Z. I kind of feel your pain.

As for experiences, Seph rarely has major migraines, which is a very painful experience for him, and aside from that, he was sent to the ER when a hornet stung, and literally poisoned, him when he was about 10 years old. Now he's okay, he's just allergic to almost all types of bees.

I broke my arm when I was 7, almost nearly went into a state of seizure when I was 12, misplaced my knee-caps when I was 13 and 14, and literally got thrown off a horse and into a tractor cab when I was 16. Had to go to the hospital to make sure my spinal cord hadn't stabbed through one of my kidneys. Thank gawd my right kidney was only bruised when I found out! And my back was a little sore after that experience as well. But here I am, posting away! :D

See, you aren't the only one who has had such experiences, bud. Hope you get well soon, otherwise I'll have to cry! :cry7:

Get well soon, Z. I feel your pain

If you got a minute, here’s awful injury stories:

1. When I was, oh, probably six years old, my brother was carrying me around on his shoulders. He took me to the bathroom counter to set me down, and when he did, I slipped and banged my head on the bathtub. My parents took me to the hospital, and they stitched me up alright. Was a little dizzy for a few days after that.

2. When I was around ten years old, I was running my horse across a field. Something spooked her (still don't know what) and she bucked me off. But, as I went off, (I kind of slid off the side) the reigns wrapped around my neck and I blacked out. When I woke up, I was in the back of an ambulance where the paramedics were working on me. They just almost took me to the ER, but my mom insisted that they don't. So, I went home, and slept for a couple of days, and now, I still dont have complete feeling in my left shoulder.

3. Around the same age as the last, I was playing on a riding lawnmower with about 10 other kids. (I know, I was a moron) Well, my brother turned the mower all of the sudden, and I fell off, but got my leg caught between the blade adjust lever and the spinning wheel, so lost a few too many layers of skin that day.

4. Several years later my family was staying at a hotel. I was down swimming, and went to use the bathroom. In there, I stepped in something, and hopped up on the counter to wash my foot off before I got back in the pool. So, there I was sitting on the counter, feet in the sink, when, boom, the sink drops out from under me, and I fall through the opening. I stand up and look at myself to make sure I’m okay, but when I look down, there is about a three inch wide gash on top of my left foot and it is just gushing blood. I call for help and my brother gets mom who takes one look at it and knows it’s serious. At the hospital, they say that I cut every tendon and most of the nerves in my foot and shattered an artery, to where they couldn’t even find it. But they operated on it and got it patched up, and after three short months in a cast, I had full mobility. The nerves never fully healed, so all I have is a tingly sensation that turns to horrible pain if its hit hard, but I can walk without a limp, and it doesn’t bother me if nothing lands on it.

5. about two years later, I was, get this, playing the limbo, was going under the pole, and my knee just snapped out of place. I pretty much couldn’t walk for about two weeks, and to this day, it has a lump of fat floating around the knee cap, and is very susceptible to injury.

So, those are most of my major injuries. I know there are more, but can’t think of them right now. Believe it or not, I am not overly accident prone. Just for me, when something happens, it happens big. So, I have very few minor injuries with three lifetimes full of bad ones.

You see, it can be much worse. :D

I've been hit right above the eye with a full-swinging golfclub (that kid was a jerk).

I've been hit by a heavy closing door (stitches on that one)

I've gotten a minor concussion (no throwing up) by getting hit pretty hard.

I work at UPS and hitting your head and having it bleed is a common experience, heh.

When I was younger, I tripped and fell on one of those strips they use for carpet...with the hooks. Ouch. Bloody hands.

I also stepped on a nail before. It went clear through my foot.
