wassup
So they banned it because it does not agree with the idea of the creation of man? Well, technically, the Matrix universe STILL follows that belief. In the real world, it is the year 2199, and in the Matrix it is a simulated world in the year 1999, but in the real world the beliefs of God and how man was created still existed when humans were actually still living in the real world. Only in the Matrix does this "disagreement" with the creation of man exist, not in the real world. So I see no point in banning the Matrix, since you can argue that it still supports the idea of God, religion, etc., just in the real world, not the Matrix world. darth_yomama
That was a hilarious movie, but yeah, the message wasn't accurate according to the Christian religions. My favorite part is when Bruce parted his soup like the Red Sea. Oh, and good point on the Matrix movie, Wassup.
Thrackan Solo
Actually IS, Egypt is mostly Islamic and barely any protestant christian, considering ITS ILLEGAL THERE TO BE ONE!!! No offence man...
Master_Payne
! I'm shocked, it can't be true. Thank's my parents I didn't born on Egypt, here Matrix: Reloaded was for every audience (without cuts I belive). the only funny thing was that a lot of 12 years old didn't understood what happened the whole movie, but at least they have fun. That's usual to happen when religion becomes fanatism (<-- is that a word?).
Taos
This reminds me of when Greece tried to ban video games from people.....or maybe it was Italy. *shrugs* Their loss IMO.

People who are stoopid enough to ban clearly fictional movies like this probably aren't going to understand that concept.
Antilles_CL
Heh, that's ludacris. It's a good movie, and the movie itself dosn't state it's related religion wise... Oh well poor EGYPT....

Lunatic Jedi
Same here. I hate it when people are so hardassed that they can't set their beliefs aside for three hours and enjoy a good movie. Madkur Thabet (Egyptian Director of Artistic Censorship) really needs to have some surgery done to remove that enormous rod lodged in his ass. ET Warrior
Originally posted by Father Torque No it had a bad message, even though its a good movie they are putting a face on God. Add to that the fact that it was friggin hilarious.......SURE it may have misrepresented God, but it made a VERY good point I thought. And I think that is completely ludicrous that the government is CAPABLE of banning a movie just because it conflicts with religious idealogies. That's just ridiculous. HertogJan
Don't you guys think religion and state should be strictly divided (sp?)?? I think no government has the RIGHT to ban a movie, because it's against the principles of their religion... If the ppl of the country don't want the movie, they won't watch it. If they do want to watch it, they'll do so and prove the government wrong... I think it's very very wrong to have a government act out of the principles of a religion, for example: make every woman (muslim or not) wear a.. eh... 'towel' on their heads (don't know the word, sorry)...
