Interesting, but is it actually true? :)

you know all of those "facts" are fake right?

well except for the name one. but he did legally change it.

I've done biographies on him for school i've read every biographie that was written on him at the time. most of those facts were displayed in neo-nazi programs. just so you know. and back then everyone famous was somehow tied to "communists".

and take note this person who is so patriotic doesn't even take the time to spell interesting right.

that person got some of the facts from here

It never fails to amaze me how quick people are to believe the fantastic ;)

Here's a Link to go to and see for yourself: http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/hoaxes/hoax5.asp?HName=Martin+Luther+King+Hoax

Here's an excerpt from that link for those who are lazy:

This hoax email mentions several questionable statements about Martin Luther King, Jr. to push its malicious agenda. For the better informed, this email could appear racist and hate-driven. It pieces together unconfirmed information commonly found in known racial Web sites to depict King as morally-depraved and unworthy.

Email hoaxes are worse than viruses.... they propagate through ignorance rather than code.... Uhhh... no offense intended Bongobob. My best friends and favorite family members send me the same stuff on an almost daily basis... I have one friend that always sends this stuff to me and asks "is this real?"

She's a scientist, so you'd think she'd pick up on the pattern... whenever she asks that question, it is always a hoax! :D

Yeah,

Dunno about you, but I always believe email forwards.

Especially ones used to denounce a man with no personal intentions other than to seek peaceful coexistance between ethnic groups. Peace is just such a horrible thing.

Thanks for sharing this valuable tid bit with us.

P.S. I plagarized most of this post from myself, and now the FBI is following me.

P.P.S. My name is not really Darth Groovy, but I call myself Darth Groovy.

P.P.P.S. This post was actually written by someone else who happens to have the same user name I have.

I found that intresting but I knew it was all mostly maid up stuff. My ex girlfriend always said that he cheated on his wife and that she didn't like him and all that crap. I just find it sad how many people buy into trash like this.

And Groovy were always watching ;)

I will give the statement about black applicants getting in above more qualified white students some credit even if Bush did or did not say it. That is a good topic for the Senate. Should it be ethical to give less qualified people spots in colleges that are not privately owned based on their skin color? There are also economic and social things to help base your answer on too but it is still a good question.

Is it wrong if I, as a white male, not be accepted to a university but a black male or female with a lower GPA and no extra extracurricular activities be accepted to that same university based solely on gender and/or skin color?

No, of course that's not ethical. Not in any means. However, it can't be looked at just based on skin color. That, in a sense, really has nothing to do with it. I would hope that when they allow these black students with a lower GPA in that they EXAMINED their past. If they came from a small black community in Alabama with like 500 people, obviously this community wouldn't have the resources it required to teach these kids on a level expected by a university. Nonetheless, that doesn't effect your level of "wisdom". If said child had grown up in a rich white community, it is of my opinion that he would have as much intellectual potential as if he had grown up in the poor black community. If the college determines that the black guy with a lower GPA has more ACTUAL intellectual potential than the white kid, the college has every right to accept the black kid, not the white kid. That's what college is about to those people. Your potential. And potential can't be measured only by a number.

BUT!

If these black kids are coming from richer areas and have just as much an opportunity to "prove" themselves and simply screw around, I would be appalled that the colleges are accept these kids because they'd be accepting them ONLY because of the color of their skin. Obviously in this scenerio the white kid is much more deserving.

And of course, there are plenty of poor white communities across the country, so if a rich black kid with a high GPA is tossed out because they want this white kid with a low GPA but possibly high potential, I would again be quite angry if anyone tried to argue it. Just because you have a high GPA doesn't mean you're smart. I've seen plenty of complete idiots come from colleges. Intellegence and wisdom (and all of its potenial therein) is much more than the color of one's skin or the number written on their high school diploma.

-edit- And as I just said in #echonet:

<Datheus> That's the problem in the issue, I think.

<Datheus> People are too quick to play the race card these days.

<Datheus> And interestingly enough, some people would call me a racist for saying that.

<Datheus> And that just proves my point.

Then there is people like our president which may have went to a good school because his daddy had alot of money. His acts alone should demonstrate that the guy has no shread of common sense in him whatsoever. People with alot of money ALWAYS get to go where they want, and some of them are powerful enough to have the homework done for them.

If you look at the poorer communities and public schools in the area, and if you ever attended such a school (as I did) you will find the curiculum has a lower standard of requirments for graduation. Most teachers in those schools are simply trying to keep students from killing each other. Alot of good merrits go un-noticed in such schools, and over all self asteem is lower than your wildest imaginations. Sometimes all it takes, is to escape that environment and acomplish a few things before you reach your full potentional. I always thought I was a marginal student, and looked forward to a life of manual labor, until the econmy busted, and then I went back to college, and suddenly found myself doing things that I never before thought I could do. At first I thought maybe I was just doing better, but a few teachers that had been in the field many years told me of students that were lead astray, and were not aware of their "full potentional". Some of them went on to tell me that it was in me all along, I just doubted it so much, that I had believed it. I currently have a 3.6 GPA (only because I screwed up earlier on), and have pulled down streight A's for the last three semesters. Most people are not given a chance, but I speak from experience in saying that kids that go to public schools are normally overlooked and led astray. Trust me, the school you go to and the teachers you have make all the difference in the world, which has NOTHING to do with color, it's mostly the area, or region they grow up in, which normally and unfortunately consists of a large number of what the government still ignorantly classifies as "minority groups".

I think it is racist KKK propaganda, and a load of BS, that's what I think. If you really want to know who Martin Luther King was, and what he did in his lifetime, go the library and read about him. Do not ever believe anything you read in an email such as this.

It amazes me that people believe this stuff.

I could even believe it's a joke email. I mean, look at this:

No other public holiday in the United States honors a

> > single

> > individual. Of all the great leaders in our Nation's history - none of

> > them have their own holiday. All of our great war heroes share Memorial

>

> > Day. All

> > of our great presidents share President's Day.

Washington's Day? Columbus Day? I believe Lincoln has one as all, but I'm tired and can't say for sure.

I could look up every single "fact" listed in that little gem of bull****, and I'm sure I'd find out they were all made-up, but frankly I'm tired, want to go to bed, and don't feel like dedicating anymore of my time to racist propaganda like this.

Let's put it this way. Even if everything in that email was true, who cares? It's what he did for our country that counts. Even if he was really named Michael, plagarized half his material, beat prostitutes, and was a Communist, I say so what? It doesn't change what he did. Not that I believe a single word of it.

Well I believed it at first read but was kinda going.....wha??

Then I read the hoax thing.

You know why I believed it? Because there are bunch of people out there who are glorified and probably only did one great thing and a bunch of bad things. There are plenty of people out there in the world who go unrecognized that do a lot of great things and don't have a shady background.

Well at least Martin's not really hoax!

Oh he's right about the Bush thing though, why should black Americans, who are as American as any other American, get precedence over more qualified white applicants?? That's discrimination too you know :)
