  1. For sure. But did I have Macklunkey as my text alert after I saw it? You bet!
  2. How true. Won't go into it to keep this thread on topic and avoid the rabbit hole, but suffice it to say, the time is certainly right for more MI news to take my mind off certain developments. You better deliver, Nintendo 😂 But yes, very much looking forward to Marius' video
  3. The best part is in the Disney Plus version: Greedo now says "Macklunkey" for no reason before they shoot
  4. I don't think I've done a proper playthrough of AVS or Ghost Pirates since my first go when they came out. I remember them being visually good but very heavy on dialog. Still, I backed AVS Year One on Kickstarter despite it not being successfully funded cause I was interested in seeing more of the world. It sounds as though Bill Tiller has finally acquired the rights to do his second part which is exciting. That's probably the game's biggest weakness, it truly does feel incomplete. It also just straight up doesn't start without dgVoodoo, like no menu, nothing, just a hanging item in your task manager. Maybe that's been fixed by now, idk. Ghost Pirates on the other hand I remember just making me wish I was playing a new Monkey Island game, I feel like doing a pirate comedy adventure game is a pointless endeavour when it's been perfected 5 times over (soon to be 6) in one series; you're never going to do better than the world of Guybrush and friends. I'd actually be more interested in a pirate adventure game that comitted to being more gritty and played completely straight, with all the romanticism stripped out to show a more historically accurate depiction; that would be worthwhile. Ghost Pirates and others like it are just Diet Monkey Island which doesn't interest me, if I want that I'll just play the real deal. I feel like this post has leaned too negatively for an Appreciation thread, so I'll end on a more positive note; The idea of finding objects that you can't realistically pick up and take with you but will "keep in mind" being added to your inventory is a genius design choice, I love it.
  5. I hope that whatever the interface is, it allows for some interesting puzzles and a good amount of experimentation/exploration. I feel like there needs to be a good balance between streamlining the gameplay and having a satisfying amount of options. We do know at least from Ron's musings on his blog that he's not a fan of just a single click to interact, or what he called the "poke" verb (meaning "poke" this and see what happens, wash, rinse, repeat); I think that's probably Tales' biggest weakness, even though I'd still argue it has plenty of memorable puzzles.
  6. Amazing work, once again! Can they just hire you to work on the remasters from now on?
  7. Yeah that was kinda how I saw it if there was any intention at all. It certainly doesn't come near the Leisure Suit Larry levels of "humour".
  8. I'd rather not get banned for sexually explicit content 😂 I'm trying to be subtle guys come on 😜
  9. When you go to the Mysts O'Thyme and are faced with future Guybrush, one of the numbers he can say you're thinking of is 69. The line delivery sounds exactly like someone who finds that number funny for NSFW reasons. Maybe it's just my inner teenage boy hearing things, but it always sounded like the voice director knew what they were doing when they had Dom read that line.
  10. I can't wait for more outbursts of joy! It seems to me that whenever there's radio silence about something, especially with a Disney property, the next bit of news is just an onslaught of exciting content. I'm hopeful for that, even though I mostly just want a release date haha.
  11. Since we're on page 69, does anyone else find the delivery of that number as a guess in the Mysts O'Tyme in Escape kinda...suggestive?
  12. Another thing worth mentioning is that there are bugs in the SEs that can only be fixed by limiting the framerate: -The mouse appears before the Part 1 title card so it never triggers and the interface is temporarily gone until you talk to someone in the SCUMM bar -MI2 has a bunch of areas where the game just hangs and not even a restart will fix it; you have to limit the framerate.
  13. That would break me. There's still a part of me that won't believe this game is real until I'm playing it.
  14. I found the Reddit thread this is from and Dom is actually just responding to the question posed by the OP which was "are you also going crazy from not hearing more news about the game" so all this means is he is just as desperate as us...impressive since he still knows more than we do 😂
  15. At the very least, we know there's an inventory, or at least some way to use items with the environment, given Ron's tweet about the bug with using the lamp in the galley. I'm very curious about what changes (if any) will be made to the dialog system aswell. Of course, these questions could all be addressed with a simple gameplay preview... ...I'm losing my mind a little bit.
  16. I don't care if the whole game is an extended Monkey Kombat sequence, I just wanna know more about the game, dammit!
  17. Bloody hell, that's amazing! Seriously, the sooner ScummVM supports Hi-Res packs, the better. Just...*chefs kiss* great work.
  18. I don't think this counts tbh 👕 I beat #Mojole #91 and all I got was this stupid t-shirt. 5/6 🖤💛🖤🖤🖤 🖤💚🖤🖤💛 🖤💚💚💚🖤 💚💚💚💚🖤 💚💚💚💚💚 https://funzone.mixnmojo.com/Mojole/
  19. Brilliant, couldn't have asked for better 😂
  20. Wow, a robot AND the reincarnation of LeChuck? What a twist 😂 Would you be kind enough to ask it to interpret how it keeps all the post-Gilbert games canon? I'd love to see how it stacks up against our theories
  21. I've attempted the PS2 version, and the biggest issue I can see is that depending on the graphics mode you use, certain transitions hang and there are some minor sound glitches (especially during the opening credits during all those fades between shots). As far as I'm aware, those issues disappear in Software rendering mode, but you're stuck with the original resolution of the game, wheras OpenGL and Direct3D options allow you to upscale the game so the 3d models are a lot more crisp, so it's a bit of a balancing act on what concessions you're willing to make for which features.
  22. Between this and fixing the iMuse transitions, you're doing the lords work
  23. Yeah that makes sense, MI:SE came out about a week after the first episode of Tales. I guess it was mostly just a happy accident that both were developed at the same time!
  24. From what I remember of back then, the story goes that Craig Derrick (who's still an executive producer at Lucasfilm and might have had some involvement in Return aswell) was secretly developing MI:SE without company knowledge, and when it was pitched and approved, the president of LucasArts at the time, Darrell Rodriguez, asked him to find someone to continue the series (Telltale), because he too was a fan of the old IP and wanted to bring them back, creating what was called the "heritage team". I'm sure I've not got all the details right, @Jake may or may not have further insight at least on how the people at Telltale found out about Tales, but this is what I can gather from piecing together interviews and statements from Craig Derrick over the years.
  25. Tomorrow marks 11 weeks exactly since the announcement. Tha'ts roughly 6 pages of discussion in this thread per week, or 1 page per day. You crazy bastards, I love ya! Please release a trailer soon Otherwise...
