  1. The baby felt way better yesterday, and slept like a... well, baby! Thanks for your comment. šŸ™‚ I finally got around to some more monkey business and I love what they're doing! The art style also really works for me. I thought I'd have more problems with stubby legs Guybrush, but I really like how it brings out the shortness of his stature, like it did in MI2! Still not a fan of the tween animation, but since it creates so much opportunity for detail I'm really not complaining! Also I love how the backgrounds have different layers and effects. It really brings out the depth in them. I'll might really start to miss those the next time I'll play MI 1 to 4. I have some more opinions. They're not really spoilers but I wouldn't like reading them here, so I'll save those for when I open the spoiler thread.
  2. Only had the chance to play one or two hours yesterday, (the baby was having tummy trouble), but I absolutely adore what I've played so far!
  3. Thanks, for the kind words, @BaronGrackle! I never really thought of this as Monkey 3a or the last in a trilogy, or the game that Ron wanted to make 30 years ago, so that's not what's eating me. I'm just a bit anxious that I've overexcited myself for the last couple of months. I want to play this and enjoy it, but I'm scared I might've overhyped it. We'll see, maybe my own fear of my expectations tampers my expectations so mucht that it'll surpass my every expectation? Or is that a paradox waiting to happen? If the universe explodes after release... Sorry, my bad!
  4. I have so many contradicting feelings about it! I'm actually a bit afraid to start playing the game tonight... I feel like this game is gonna be great, but can it really fulfil the excitement I've been feeling the last couple of months? ... I'm just so anxious....!!
  5. Iā€™m both excited and puzzled that weā€™re already there. Most of the time the games that Iā€™m really, really hyped about get announced more than 2 years before release. Iā€™ve been waiting for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom for more than 3 years now, and when itā€™s released itā€™ll be almost 4(!!), while this game has been announced, teased, revealed, trailered, teased some more and released in less than half a year! Somehow I feel that Iā€™ve skipped (or missed out on) some of the waiting process! Anyway, real excited! The only thing Iā€™m a bit anxious about is the recasting of LeChuck. I hope Jess Harnell can fill Earl Boenā€™s bootstraps, but itā€™s gonna be a tough act to follow.
  6. Youā€™re a braver man than Iā€™ll ever be. Just donā€™t fly to close to the sunā€¦
  7. Yes. KestrelPi is correct. I tried starting it today and got the message that it needed to connect to the internet to see if I could play itā€¦ I couldnā€™t. šŸ˜¢
  8. I'd love to have both games physical... But I also don't want the bells and whistles, my shelves are full enough already!
  9. Check what's cooking on my Switch, right now!! šŸ˜ƒ
  10. Ken's quite the character and it shows in his writing. He's got a very spartan like business approach. (You've got A employees, B employees and C employees. Get the best of the best and if you can't get the best, don't get in the game. That kind of attitude.) While I don't like that stance on business, he does have some fascinating insights in what the Sierra business philosophy was, and where he got his inspiration. I can still recommend the book, even though I don't think Ken's the kind of guy I could have a particularly nice chat with.
  11. I love Last Crusade! I just feel it leans a bit too much into comedy territory. Spielberg felt Temple of Doom got a bit too dark, thatā€™s why he was careful to not make the same ā€œmistakeā€ with Last Crusade. The choice definitely worksto me it just feels a bit too light and controlled because of it. Like Spielberg was holding himself in. Great movie though and a very worthy sequel. Iā€™m also not a fan of the return of the themes and desert backdrop from Raiders. What I like about Temple of Doom is that itā€™s the same Indy with a totally different mcguffin in a totally different environmentā€¦ and what an environment! The rope bridge is probably the most exciting climax of any of the movies!
  12. Okay, guys 'n girls! In one week we'll all be playing ReMI! Who here can't wait either?
  13. I recently rewatched them and discovered thatā€¦ unpopular opinion comingā€¦ Temple of Doom is my favourite! There, I said it! Now rip my heart out and throw me in the lava pit!
  14. I think it went downhill after the Russian camp. And the first half hour wasnā€™t that superbā€¦ I didnā€™t feel a thing when ā€œolā€™ buddy, olā€™ palā€ Mac betrayed Indy. Totally useless beginning of a totally useless arc.
  15. Happy to help! Let me know what you thought of it! Itā€™s a book Iā€™d love to discuss more, but I donā€™t know anyone else whoā€™s read it.
  16. The fridge scene is just as improbable as the jumping out of a plane in a lifeboatā€¦ and I love it! I also really like the image of that tired, grizzly Indiana Jones running through the pastel tinted , happy 50ā€™s neighbourhood! I actually think the beginning of the movie is pretty decent, even though it has itā€™s flaws. Itā€™s the end when it really getā€™s sloppy. I do have the tendency to skip this one when I do a rewatch of every Indy movie. I think that says enough.
  17. I love that poster! I had your previous version printed 2 meters tall and hung it in my office when I was working as a desktop publisher. That was more then 10 years agoā€¦ My boss never gave it back when I quit (honestly he printed it for me, so it was technically his), so it might still be hanging there today! Thank you so much for your continued work!
  18. Well, the weather for the whole area will continue much the same as the past few days. Temperatures 17 centigrade, that's 49 fahrenheit. Winds will freshen tonight to South West, force 6 or 7, and there will be showers, sometimes heavy in many-... OH, SOD IT! I didn't wanna do this, I don't wanna be a weather forecaster! I don't wanna rabid on all day about sunny periods and patches of rain spreading from the west! I wanted to be... A PIRATE!!
  19. I read it and I liked it! Itā€™s Kenā€™s perspective on the rise and fall of Sierra and how they operated. While I canā€™t shake off the feeling that his way of telling it is a little coloured, and he does admit in the book that his memory is a little foggy sometimes, itā€™s great to read about his experiences firsthand. I definitely recommend it if you like Sierra games and other nineties games! (BTW, I bought a printed copy through Amazon (when I still shopped there). Appearently itā€™s part of a program where they print every copy seperately after you buy it.)
  20. I think we should just stick to the weather in this thread.
  21. I am so with you on this. Iā€™ll be checking back with Mojo after my time with ReMI in my zombie bunker! (At least on the Monkey Island threads, Iā€™ll discuss The Dig with anyone anytime!)
  22. With numbers like 3 to 5 and even 14/15, it seems like the only TRUE Monkey Island games are Curse and Escape!
  23. What ifā€¦ the monkeys in the MI2 intro are actually a whole bunch of monkeys?! Every time they go off screen another pair emerges! šŸ¤Æ
  24. Mindā€¦ hasā€¦ beenā€¦ blown! (Still think itā€™s MI2 though.)
