Whoa! This is amazing! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I just booted up CMI in ScummVM for a playthrough yesterday, but now I kinda want to run it on DREAMM. Too bad I don't have a Windows PC. Can't wait for a mac version of your software, so I can run it too!

Whoa! That High Res version looks amazing! The sprites kinda stand out now though... Even so, this would be a really nice way to do a future playthrough! Too bad we don't have all the original art assets. Could you maybe put the Guybrush close up from the fisherman's dock in it, just for fun? I'm curious to how it will look.

This topic has been argued to death, but here’s my two cents. I actually really like the fact that MadMardi’s favourite game is EMI, even though it’s not my own. It’s an exciting new opinion! I don’t know who said it, and I’m too lazy to scroll back, but I agree to the fact that I don’t dislike EMI as much anymore as I did when it was the final part of the series. I would’ve hated the series to end this way, but now it’s just another chapter which got a little wonky. Even though I truly dislike the second part of the game with all the pop culture references, Herman backstory, and return to Monkey Island (there I did it), I’m actually pretty excited to play the game again in my MI playthrough’s! Also I’m curious about how I’ll feel about Monkey Kombat. I don’t really remember disliking it that much, but maybe I was too blown away by the Herman revelation to notice.

This. I wouldn’t get my hopes up too high either. I think that if they reveal the ‘secret’ they’ll probably make it a part of an even bigger secret that will leave us hanging for years to come, or it’ll be so ludicrous that we’ll all feel stupid for obsessing over it for so many years. Just don’t expect Ron to tie everything up with a bow and you’ll be fine.

Wow! These are really nicely done! I agree with what Thrik said about the borders, the way the characters pop out gives them a lot of depth! The only thing feedback I'd like to give, if it's welcome, is about the COMI cover. Guybrush is dangling a bit too much out of center in the bottom left. Maybe you can nudge the image a bit to the right? Or you could make the image a bit smaller and make the logo cover more of LeChuck's hat and sword (that information is less important then Guybrush.)

Good point! Maybe that's why it felt more stale the second time. I actually loved the 3rd chapter of MI1. I really felt like I was stranded on a strange island and like I was slowly going mad (like Herman). Also I think it helps that it wasn't structured like chapter 1. Of course there are less people to talk to, but I love that it gives you all those places and things to explore and toy around with. I was a bit dissapointed in my last playthrough about how short the sections after the four map pieces were. It felt kinda like the bulk of the game comprised of that chapter and after that you're already really close to the end. It just didn't feel as epic to me because of it. (Fun fact: after my last playthrough I've actually changed my favourite Monkey Island game to SOMI instead of MI2. Funny how time can still make me change my opinion on things.)

I'm really interested to how this game will be structured. I replayed both MI1 and MI2 last year, and upon replaying part 2 I felt the map collecting chapter wasn't as good as I remembered. I love the fact that the game really opens up at this point, but all in all it's pretty much a generic "complete an x number of chores to continue" chapter. Of course by now this is a common trope, (I recently replayed the TellTale Sam and Max games too, and boy is it overused,) but I felt MI1 makes a wise design choice by doing that in the first chapter, rather than the second. I love that Ron is constantly thinking of ways to improve and evolve the genre, so I'm really curious to how he'll structure this game.
