  1. I used Winamp back in the day. But I haven’t used it since the move to Apple hardware. I thought it was a great player though, I loved how easy to use and customisable it was!
  2. I love this idea! And it really fits in with the whole B horror esthetic that Maniac Mansion is build around. I’d love for it to have hammy acting with C grade actors as well. Phantasmagoria comes to mind! But the whole thing should be really polished, like we’ve come to expect from LucasArts/Film Games.
  3. I’d love for a Return to the Mansion to happen, but honestly, I’d rather have Ron make something new, like he did with Thimbleweed Park.
  4. So Craig Derrick just tweeted something interesting: https://twitter.com/craigderrick/status/1572142330609831937 Scroll down and you'll see that he tweeted: Apparently it got people so fired up that Eurogamer decided to call it newsworthy: https://www.eurogamer.net/fans-think-lucasfilm-games-is-teasing-a-maniac-mansion-return What do you guys think? After Monkey Island, do you think we'll get another Maniac Mansion game? Or maybe a remake? And do you think Ron Gilbert will be involved?
  5. No, that's not it. I remember it as a quote about SMI. They had to trim the dialogue to fit it on the disc, but Ron said that it's only good to cut dialogue or something like that? Maybe this was to Tim Shafer? I forget. I do remember Stephen King saying that when you finish a book, you should then cut at least 10% out to improve the pacing.
  6. Nope! You don't expect Limited Run to offer a product that has been quality checked, do you? 😉
  7. That's a great cover! It's so cool that you got to do that! I like it much more than the American one! (This one actually has art design...) 😉
  8. I've got it turned on, and I must admit, it does drag on a bit sometimes. I wonder how the dialogue is when turned off. I also think of this as a peculiar option from someone who said that (what was it?) 25% of the dialogue should be trimmed to make a good product? (I'm obviously paraphrasing. Someone care to help me out?)
  9. I’m really hoping for a soundtrack cd when the game becomes available physically!
  10. The baby felt way better yesterday, and slept like a... well, baby! Thanks for your comment. 🙂 I finally got around to some more monkey business and I love what they're doing! The art style also really works for me. I thought I'd have more problems with stubby legs Guybrush, but I really like how it brings out the shortness of his stature, like it did in MI2! Still not a fan of the tween animation, but since it creates so much opportunity for detail I'm really not complaining! Also I love how the backgrounds have different layers and effects. It really brings out the depth in them. I'll might really start to miss those the next time I'll play MI 1 to 4. I have some more opinions. They're not really spoilers but I wouldn't like reading them here, so I'll save those for when I open the spoiler thread.
  11. Only had the chance to play one or two hours yesterday, (the baby was having tummy trouble), but I absolutely adore what I've played so far!
  12. Thanks, for the kind words, @BaronGrackle! I never really thought of this as Monkey 3a or the last in a trilogy, or the game that Ron wanted to make 30 years ago, so that's not what's eating me. I'm just a bit anxious that I've overexcited myself for the last couple of months. I want to play this and enjoy it, but I'm scared I might've overhyped it. We'll see, maybe my own fear of my expectations tampers my expectations so mucht that it'll surpass my every expectation? Or is that a paradox waiting to happen? If the universe explodes after release... Sorry, my bad!
  13. I have so many contradicting feelings about it! I'm actually a bit afraid to start playing the game tonight... I feel like this game is gonna be great, but can it really fulfil the excitement I've been feeling the last couple of months? ... I'm just so anxious....!!
  14. I’m both excited and puzzled that we’re already there. Most of the time the games that I’m really, really hyped about get announced more than 2 years before release. I’ve been waiting for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom for more than 3 years now, and when it’s released it’ll be almost 4(!!), while this game has been announced, teased, revealed, trailered, teased some more and released in less than half a year! Somehow I feel that I’ve skipped (or missed out on) some of the waiting process! Anyway, real excited! The only thing I’m a bit anxious about is the recasting of LeChuck. I hope Jess Harnell can fill Earl Boen’s bootstraps, but it’s gonna be a tough act to follow.
  15. You’re a braver man than I’ll ever be. Just don’t fly to close to the sun…
  16. Yes. KestrelPi is correct. I tried starting it today and got the message that it needed to connect to the internet to see if I could play it… I couldn’t. 😢
  17. I'd love to have both games physical... But I also don't want the bells and whistles, my shelves are full enough already!
  18. Ken's quite the character and it shows in his writing. He's got a very spartan like business approach. (You've got A employees, B employees and C employees. Get the best of the best and if you can't get the best, don't get in the game. That kind of attitude.) While I don't like that stance on business, he does have some fascinating insights in what the Sierra business philosophy was, and where he got his inspiration. I can still recommend the book, even though I don't think Ken's the kind of guy I could have a particularly nice chat with.
  19. I love Last Crusade! I just feel it leans a bit too much into comedy territory. Spielberg felt Temple of Doom got a bit too dark, that’s why he was careful to not make the same “mistake” with Last Crusade. The choice definitely worksto me it just feels a bit too light and controlled because of it. Like Spielberg was holding himself in. Great movie though and a very worthy sequel. I’m also not a fan of the return of the themes and desert backdrop from Raiders. What I like about Temple of Doom is that it’s the same Indy with a totally different mcguffin in a totally different environment… and what an environment! The rope bridge is probably the most exciting climax of any of the movies!
  20. Okay, guys 'n girls! In one week we'll all be playing ReMI! Who here can't wait either?
  21. I recently rewatched them and discovered that… unpopular opinion coming… Temple of Doom is my favourite! There, I said it! Now rip my heart out and throw me in the lava pit!
  22. I think it went downhill after the Russian camp. And the first half hour wasn’t that superb… I didn’t feel a thing when “ol’ buddy, ol’ pal” Mac betrayed Indy. Totally useless beginning of a totally useless arc.
  23. Happy to help! Let me know what you thought of it! It’s a book I’d love to discuss more, but I don’t know anyone else who’s read it.
  24. The fridge scene is just as improbable as the jumping out of a plane in a lifeboat… and I love it! I also really like the image of that tired, grizzly Indiana Jones running through the pastel tinted , happy 50’s neighbourhood! I actually think the beginning of the movie is pretty decent, even though it has it’s flaws. It’s the end when it really get’s sloppy. I do have the tendency to skip this one when I do a rewatch of every Indy movie. I think that says enough.
