MasterSidious
Ya, ok i might be a rotten stupid teenager but this is how it goes with me since the day I was born, never has or never will change My parents say this: 1. CAN NOT GO ANYWHERE BY MYSELF 2. can not buy anything 3. have to go to horse shows about 30 - 40 weeks in a year 4. Have to get REALLY good grades (4.0) to not get screamed at Yeah, I'm not making this stuff up! This is my life! I know the world's scary but, I'll get over it! Seriously, am I over reactting or is this abunch of stupid **************************!
legameboy
Damn, I'm 12 and I have way more freedom than you. I can walk or ride my bike anywhere. I can buy what I want (just need approval ). I don't have to go to horse shows, and I don't exactly what you mean by good grades, but as long as I get A's my parents are proud. I feel sorry for you. MasterSidious
I know it's so gay! I mean I have WAY less freedom than a three year old! BTW, I don't mind the good grades I get because I know It'll help me later on in life, but the other stuff is just bs! Can you feel my pain? I hope you can't! amadeus
After I recently didn't hand in some homework, my parents have imposed a facist rule, but not as totalitarian as yours seems to be. My lord.

Acrylic
I need to get at least a 3.0 + GPA for my parents to be happy. But, I can go anywhere pretty much, but I have to tell my parent. And, I also have to say if I bought something, or about to. I guess we all have more freedom than you.
wassup
How old are you exactly, MS? If you are 11-12 then I would understand those rules, but if your above that age then yes, those restrictions are pretty harsh... Also, why do you have to go to horse shows? You in horse competitions or something?
BongoBob
My mom isn't that restraintful, but I can sort of understand. If I have my own money, I have to fight with her to let me buy things(like my most recent purchase, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II:D), and I am pushed to get good grades, but this time she'll understand about my 5 d's and 1 f, since I had been battling depression and have mnissed already around 25 days and around 4-5 of my classes are dependant on being there, plus my algebra teacher is a Gaylord M. Faulker and a PC(Prejudice Cracker). I now have two friends in my neighborhood and a bike so I can go over there but not often and my mom has to know who/what/where/when/why/how. TheJackal
My dad right now is getting on my nerves. I know its the typical thing everybody who is ready to move out lives through. But i dont think thats an excuse for everything. Since the age of 17 he knew exactly what he wanted to do in life. I'm now 19. I'm studying in Graphics Design and apparently he thinks thats in the High Tech sector. Just to clear out things, apparently my dad planed out my life. He planned that I would go in the High Tech Computer market. He planned for my brother to go into Language/Communications. Well since both of us didn't even GO into those. He's been riding our asses for ever. Just like Red Forman in That 70's show. My brother is studying to become a Paramedic and as for me I'm an artist. Both fields completely foreing to my dad. But I'm the luckiest between us because I managed to disillusion my dad into thinking Graphic Design is all computer related. Forget the fact that I do paintings, sketches and photography Right now its to the point where I dont say that I still live with at my parent's place. I say I'm just a tenant. I sleep here. do some homework. But that's it. If i go to a party, leave for nights, etc. I just say I'm going out. If they ask a question like: "what time did you get home. you weren't even here when i left for work" i just answear "sure"

GUNNER
Well since I have been out of the house for about 18 years.... And I am now a parent.. Anyways, did you ever stop to think that the rules they have set might be because they love you and want you to be the best person you can be? #1. what's wrong with that rule? Where do you want to go by yourself. Do you know how many kids are abducted a year? Do you think this rule might be for your of saftey? #2. Anything? Even a stick of gum. Maybe they want you to save your money so that some day you can buy a car, motor cycle, house etc. What is it you would want to buy if you could? #3.Don't even know what the hell that means... #4. What wrong with doing good in school. You want to spend your entire adult life being the shift manager at a fast food joint or would you rather do good in school, get a great education and then start your own company some day. There is nothing wrong with a good education. How hard is it to get good grades? Does it take up to much time? Is there something else you would rather be doing then studying? Is that the point right there. Most parents want the best for their kids. Can some be way over the top? yes , but it maybe they just want to see you succeed in life and make something of yourself. Just think, you could have parents that don't give a shiat what you do or where you go or who you hang out with. That my friend, is not living. I'll end with this. Just wait till you are a parent and you have had some time to see what this world is like through some different eyes. You will be enlightened. Trust me. leXX
Have you got a roof over your head? Do your parents love you? Do you have to search for food every day? Is your water contaminated? Do you live in a war torn country? I could go on and on. Try and put your life into perspective ffs!
The Truthful Liar
One problem I forsee with having such limited freedom is some/most people wouldn't know what to do with themselves when they're 18+ (or when they leave home, whichever happens first). Sam Fisher
Same here as legameboy, its cool, I can go anywhere in riding distance after 3:00pm, buy lots of candy(my money of course). Ya, Its ok. BTW, I just moved back into town:D
txa1265
My wife and I are fairly strict parents, but try to give our boys freedom within those boundaries. But they already know that with freedom of choice comes responsibility of action. Try to work with your parents in a positive fashion - most of us authoritarian fascists are fairly reasonable ... ... as for the overprotection thing, I truly agree. As a kid I knew others who basically exploded upon hitting college as it was their first taste of freedom (and decision making, and responsibility) and they just weren't up to handle it. Striking that balance is hard for parent's - even though you're a teen, you are still 'their baby'. Mike

There is one fact that no one really realizes about horses it really turns you gay, almost ALL of the judges/ riders that are boys are gay. It's just a fact. Just wait till you are a parent and you have had some time to see what this world is like through some different eyes. You will be enlightened. Trust me. Ok, here's the answers: 1. I'm over the abduction age (I would beat the **** out of them). Further more their reasons are just trying to protect me from "worldly things" (very religious) The purpose of this is to try and not get me to see/do ANYTHING possibly against their religious beliefs. 2.I would want to buy drugs (WTF?)No, I would want to just buy a few video games. lol 3.Don't even know what the hell that means. Well, I do it means that they do not want me to be by myself ever and want me to come with them no matter what (they tell me this exactly all the time so don't say I'm over reacting/making it up. 4. Dude, now to this you have no idea. I already have 2 grand+ in the bank and I WANT to go to college. I'm thinking about making a game engine with a few others (like the quake story). I WANT to go to college and have a life. I would be getting good grades even if my paretns begged me not to. And ya, I've seen what happens to you when you don't go to college i will succeed in life probably even more than you. But this is besides the point, lol. I just want some freedom, not much, just what my friends have.
