The Anti-Matrix

I hate the Matrix.

There, I said it. I hate the Matrix!

I've grown very, very tired with the whole thing. Matrix this, Matrix that. The first movie was ok, but the second two are very bland. The whole thing has become a twisted franchise. Websites, advertising, clothing, video games, comics... everything. The first one wasn't even that good. I couldn't stand to watch the FIRST one again (though I do have a high standard for second screenings..)

I feel that it's my duty to be the first one to really stand up and say:

**** you Neo, **** you Trinity, and **** you Wachowski Brothers.

There. Someone had to say it, at least to offset all the other "OMGZZZ TEH MATRIX IS L33T" threads.

Now who's with me? Come my children, come out of the woodwork, we shall rise and topple their empire! And I shall guide you!

You don't like action films? So... you don't like Star Wars, right?

Anyway, I hate only the first Matrix. I hate it because it stole 2 Oscars of Phantom Menance...

And so is the Matrix!

:p

I was prolly 12 when I saw the first film. And I thought it was awsome for the action. Then when I saw it for a second time when I was 15. It seemed to have alot more depth to it, and I loved it even more. The second movie brought even more depth to the series, with lots of twists that help you to realise things, and want you to see the final episode to tie up all the loose ends.

I haven't seen the third, but... aparently it doesn't tie up ALL the loose ends. But I put this down to people being ignorant, i.e. The people who hated the Zion rave scene in the second film (It wasn't pointless! It's full of some philosophic mumbo jumbo, that can add more depth than the average Joe knows about :D). People keep saying that the Matrix Revolutions is nothing new, with no new effects (like Bullet time, and the Freeway scene). But that is what I like about the idea. It's not trying to be anything more than it is. Who cares if some people don't like it. Alot of people LOVE the series. So it doesn't really matter what a few individual thinks. I'm not saying this thread is spam. I'm just saying that one or two people hating a film series doesn't change the views of others. And I know you weren't trying to do that with this thread, so I'll shut up now :p

not so much ignorance, just laziness. but you're right, revolutions will only tie up the loose ends if you're willing to work some stuff out for yourself. ultimately reloaded and revolutions were for the fans and it does not give the casual viewer an easy ride.

i loved the matrix and for me the sequels didn't disappoint.

While I like the Matrix, not love it like I love Star Wars, but like it anyway, I was muchly annoyed by Reloaded, for one with the whole rave/lovemaking scene which served no purpose at all, alot of plot could've been crammed in during all those lost minutes. Then Neo being the most insecure "hero" ever, he always has to utter "why..." whenever someone tells him something. Smith does a much better job of being a villain than Neo does of being a "hero". (Yes, for me the Matrix' main attraction is Agent Smith)

And what bugs me alot as well is the kissing back to life nonsense. Such things belong in a Disney movie, not in such a bitter place where people are caught in a fake reality. And if they used it just once I could've tried to live with it, but when Neo snogged Trinity back to life I was sorely disappointed.

That feeling of disappointment was further enhanced with the blatant marketing scheme ending. "Rah! Come and see the rest of it in November! Wachowskis want your moneeeeyyyyy..."

Anyways.. I'll probably go see Revolutions anyway to cheer Smithy (Smithies?) on XD

I enjoyed the first Matrix a ton, and i still do.

But when i watched Reloaded, i thought it was pure crap. And I also heard that Revolution would be even worse.

They just basically veered away from what made the Matrix popular, and that would be the actions that take place inside the Matrix, not on Zion or whatever that place it called.

Thing is, I don't HATE the Matrix. Like you said, I thought the first one was OK. I have both the first one and Reloaded on DVD. No matter how bad the third one is, I'm gonna get it on DVD, just to complete the collection. Anyways, back to the point. I'm with you. Its not as great as people hype it. Just like Halo, just like Star Wars, people treat these things like God, even though theyre not that great at all. :(

I liked the first once. It was fantasy type of movie. The story was great.

but the last two ruined everything.

i know the movies were influenced by manga/anime/whatever you call it. but MAN those last two were just TOO MUCH.

Stupid dragon ball z style of fighting. I yelled: WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT at the end of the 3rd movie. People laughed along with me, some jeered me. i just dont care.

the last two of this series just made me hate even more movies that spend too much into 3d animation.

i mean. the first star wars were great, same with matrix. the recent additions to both movies were disasters. they relied too much on computer graphics and using the excuse they "wanted to go where no movie has gone before" and blablabla. i mean. it got to the point where everything is artificial and the acting and plot comes 2nd to the effects.

I agree with you on that. I still like all of them, but the other two as semi-below average and the first one as above average.

the action is cool, but thats about all....no extreemly groundbreaking plots or acting in the movies at ALL. I laugh at that statement.

For me....the movies were just....blah...action was cool, but I didnt feel moved or anything.

I wouldnt say that too loud...........because they are fictional characters.....you might get some funny looks talkin to the screen......

I like the matrix.....

although The Matrix was banned in Egypt i think because they think its telling them their religion is wrong.....along with Bruce Almighty....I could understand if those were your reasons for hating it.....but not just hating it because its there
