wow, i'm glad to see ESDF is not a dying configuration.

esdf is superior for games where u need many buttons to the side of your movement keys. WADS is only better then if you have like 6 mouse buttons, but I prefer esdf because of more keys are closer to your fingers.

I've only used ESDF in a few games like Halo, JK2/JA and AA:O and AA:SF. Most first person shooters (esp "fantasy" shooters like quake) don't need ESDF since well, there aren't too many controls. Games like AA:O which are complex need ESDF for quicker access to different functions.

Hmm, while we're at the config stuff, why does my JA keep repeating ''cannot exec jampconfig.cfg'' in the console, and sometimes resets the whole cfg? everything changes, my settings, binds, all.

Strafe right - S middle finger

then you have Q and W for the most used things to use with your ring and middle finger, and you can reach RFCT all those with your index, you can use your thumb to hit spacebar and lower keys pinky is rested on Shift or ctrl

then setup i use my mouse4 and mouse 5 for other convienent commands....

 

right now my Q and W is push and pull

and I move with the arrow keys

 

it's so much easyer than anything else

I've a 5 button mouse too, but when I try to bind a command to button 4 and 5 the game always recognizes them as button 3. How did you resolve this?

If you install the Intellimouse or MouseWare software that comes with the mouse, it can disable those buttons in the game. Just remove that software and use the regular Windows driver.

Dam some of the most complicated key configurations I have seen. Below are the only things I ever use and everything except the Space bar is on the far Right side of the keyboard.

 

I use this basic configuration for every game I can. I always do well with it in MP games. I'm never looking for keys or getting lost on my key board.
