I see you're not familiar with the U.S. educational system. :p

Electives are classes that you choose to have, not forced. They're not basic classes like math, english, science, and social studies. They're stuff like art, shop, computer programming, home ecc, etc.

Yeah.. Here we get to pick 7 'electives' though. then 5 if you go on after you standard exams.

This year, the electives I've taken so far are American Music Theatre and History of Rock Music.

For the rest of the year, I took Physics and Pre-Calculus as an elective so I don't have to take it next year :X

Im taking shop

We have history of rock and roll but its one of those mini courses that only lasts for a week or so that freshman sophmores and seniors can take while the juniors study for the ACT I believe Its awesome I took it last year as a freshman

Ya know, just because you're homeschooled doesn't mean that you can't get a diploma. They have correspondence high schools that let you graduate with a diploma and you don't have to do a stinking GED. I took one out of Scranton, PA, got to work at my own pace, graduate a year before most kids, and I've got a diploma. Now, I realize that this doesn't help you much now, but there are enough homeschooled kids around here that it should really be mentioned. If anyone wants more info, just drop me a PM. :)

And about electives:

American Literature

PC Specialist

Catering/Gourmet Cooking

World Geography

English Communication

no. I'm not referring to the kids who are IN school. i'm talking about half the idiots who are just out of school who don't do a good job, and don't get reprimanded for slacking.

I did get the highest score in Iowa :(

That was no offense to you Rhett, I've just heard bad things about GEDs.

Congrats on the big score though! Right On! :D

EDIT: What about your brother? Did he do well on the GED?

I agree :D

even though I got a very pleasing tertiary entrance score and have a bachelors and masters degrees nowdays, I *hate* the whole ritual of school and academia...

but, its a necessary evil, either that, or join the glitterati on unemployment benefit, or the gifted minds that make up the armed forces :D

I pity da fool dat says **** da school!

Not really, I just thought that sounded cool. Anyway, I'm a senior in high school taking AP Computer Science (most likely going to take the AB exam) and Latin III. I've basically only taken languages and tech classes as electives in high school...Spanish II-IV, German I, Latin I-II (well, only one semester of each). And then Keyboarding and Intro to Tech IA if you count those as tech classes :D.
