First of all, I would choose Viridian/Green. Although, I might choose black if it existed.

Second,

@ Devon

There have been some Jedi who have wielded red lightsabers. For example, Ferus Olin, one of Anakin's rivals, wielded a red saber and he wasn't evil. Exar Kun, on the other hand, had a blue saber and he was a Sith Lord.

The moral of the story is never judge someone by his/her lightsaber color.

Hey thread editor mod guys, why isn't there a silver option, it was listed ingame, it was like "silver like the waterfalls in the room of a thousand fountains" or something similar, and everyone forgot

HotG MotF

I agree, but they did give an option for Orange (HotG), which is my favorite. I have about 3 different shades of orange in my game somehow or another (I can't keep up with all of the mods I have), but the HotG is the one I use most.

Of all of the mods I have seen, I would have to say that RedHawke's Weaponmaster saber color is the best. (blue w/ a green core).

Just my 2 cents...

I'd go with a white blade for a lightsaber color since I've had that in all games I've played that let you have a lightsaber.

Rather fitting for a Jedi in my opinion since white usually represents good and is rather lightside-ish.

I always use a orange blade, ever since the option was available in the games. To me it means, I'm not leaving the Jedi Council, but I will exercise the right to question their motives and decisions. Orange is a good color for exhibiting defience against blind devotion. Red(sith) is just devotion to power, that will in time destroy you, either by your master's hand or your own pupil's stab in the back.

You're forgetting Red is also the color of Love, Passion, Fire, Life and Blood.

I'm writing about the use of red in a saber by the Sith in the Star Wars universe, not the color red, and all of its meanings to our real world. Sorry if I miss wrote my post.

The Sith may like to use red to identify with those words you mention, but the Sith bases themselves towards the negative aspects of those words. Love without respect, Passion without Love, Fire for destruction, life for only the strong to control, Blood of the innocent to spill in war. I'm not sure about the color red actually standing for life itself, unless you meant life and blood together.

The following is not directed at you REDJOHNNYMIKE, comment if you wish to though.

We must remember, although many people say they want to play at being Sith, play RPGs as Sith. May even be jerks or bullies in real life. In the Star Wars universe the Sith are the personification of evil. Just saying your evil, and always picking the bad guys, doesn't make you evil, your actions dictate if you're evil.

Now to begin with about Jedi and Red saber... Adi Gallia doesn't she have a red saber?

My favorite color: Hard choice, maybe would stick to Orange, but I always use yellow in the Jk2 and jka when I played it, but in kotor its orange, rpgs orange :D so i guess its orange, (Main reason for yellow in jk is mostly coz when I started to use it v few had it.)

I thought the question is what color would I use if I was a Jedi, and I said red for the opposite reasons that you say the Sith do.

:)

I didn't mean that there was any sith connection, I just don't see it as evil, even in star wars.

P.S. When your talking to a Christian Redhead, you will never be able to convince him that RED is a color that stands for evil, no matter what you say:D

Well, since I only believe in 3 maybe 4 lightsaber colors (red, green, and blue and I guess purple for mace), I said Blue. GL himself says those are the only read lightsaber colors (I think anyways...).

Of course you don't really mean it. :D No one who slurs someone in a joke means it do they?

Is that a bit like referring to an African American in a joke by calling him/her the "N" word? BUT not meaning it?

You can take a class in college I guess; but are still only born with it ;)

Very poor joke dude.

SABERCOLOR VOTE: Yellow core green glow, or the standard blue

Darth Smaug, and everyone else:

I know that people say things in jest and are not trying to be derogatory, but the fact is comments like the one for the pink option of the poll are derogatory, and there are going to be some people who are offended. Since we all want the KOTOR section of Lucasforums to be as welcoming as possible, please refrain from using stereotypical, racial, and bigited comments. It is just better to avoid them all together.

jedigoku, please do not call other posters' comments stupid. You know that it will not be tolerated. It is fine to disagree, but please be respectful about it. Lightsaber colours are nothing to get upset about. ;)

This is the public warning.

And everyone knows that blue is the best. :D

I picked blue :saberb: because that's the one I like today. Other days I prefer green :saberg:. The viridian also piqued my interest. I've got to try out one of the saber mods that has viridian as a color so I can see what that looks like.

-steps up on soapbox-

I've always thought that a saber's color should reflect the disposition of its wielder. To me the lightsaber is an extension of the Jedi/Sith/bearer the saber belongs to.

The whitened blue and bright green saber colors used in the SW movies are colors that many associate with life, e.g. bright blue sky, the ocean, or the green fauna of forests and grasslands. The bright red saber color used in the movies evinces a lust for power and dominating control while just the color red doesn't necessarily reflect that in everyday life. That's the meaning I've given to the saber colors used in the movies. When Mace Windu showed up with the only violet (fuchsia, lavender, or whatever color you call it) lightsaber around I interpreted that as a sign of vanity. Mace definitely adhered to the Jedi code but why did he choose a completely unique lightsaber color? To me his saber speaks of a desire to set himself apart from the rest of the Jedi. I understand that it was really Samuel Jackson who wanted his character's lightsaber color to be different but that still says vanity to me.

The great thing about playing a Star Wars game like KoTOR is that we can choose to follow the SW canon OR choose to play it more to our own tastes and desires. KoTOR allows us to personalize to a greater degree than the movies do. That's why I like games like KoTOR so much because they allow for modding. So I can try out black, green-blue, orange, viridian, cyan, and whatever other saber colors KoTOR modders come up with.

In short, play the game how you want because it's your world baby!
