Aleggy
Well if you've got the avatar save as a picture on your pc you could just put into a programm like microsoft paint and resize it, you may have to experiment a bit as some pictures look distorted when made bigger
Darth333
It's always easier to take a bigger pic and resize it down. If you pick a small pic and make it bigger it will be blurry... and for pics, try google image search: http://www.google.ca/imghp?hl=en&tab=wi&q=
Aleggy
lol yes well i was refferring to if they wanted to make their current avatar bigger but in general i do what you suggested Darth333 but i have also gotten pictures via google then altered them slightly using paint then resized them down to avatar size thats how i got certain jedi/sith wearing santa hats for my xmas avatar lol
ChAiNz.2da
@Aleggy your current avatar reminds me of well... me and how I feel currently... hehehe (Garfield rocks!) except my bunny slippers are blue @warchild75 Yah, like Darth333 suggested, Google Image Search is a great resource. Also, if you go into the advanced search options, you can choose a range of options to determine size, quality, filetype and such that can help limit the results to what you "really" want
Bob Lion54
You may also want to try yahoo as well. Alot of the pictures will be the same, but there will also be alot that don't come up on google. Yahoo seemes to find more images, too. If you really want to take the time to find that "perfect" avatar, try both.

Char Ell
Speaking of avatars, is it just me or did Darth333 give her avatar a haircut? I can tell she has already taken advantage of the bigger 120x120 so we can now see more of her avatar but methinks that the hair is different now for some reason... Aash Li
I think its just that the background that she used... the other one was alot darker if I remember correctly.

Sabretooth
I thought of resizing my already resized Grievous, but dropped the idea. I found a much sharper, better Grievous.
Commas
if you use photoshop you can preserve the sharpness of photos when reducing size by choosing bicubic sharper from the resample image menu in the image size box thing. it works wonders on making things smaller. it also goes the other way, to make things bigger try bicubic smoother, the results aren't as good as shrinking, but it will look less blurry than a plain old relarging in ms paint. also when resizing an image, try to only resize once or things start to get even blurrier, if it didn't come out right the first time undo untill you're back to normal or start over with a fresh file. hope that helped someone. Darth333
Speaking of avatars, is it just me or did Darth333 give her avatar a haircut? I can tell she has already taken advantage of the bigger 120x120 so we can now see more of her avatar but methinks that the hair is different now for some reason... Yes, I photoshoped it a bit. In fact this one is closer to the original: the hair was more modified in the previous one as the allowed size was insufficient. I also changed the background (and took the time to make one with a Death Star background too for when I'm feeling evil ) . To add to what Commas said, Photoshop is the best but don't get this to make avatars only because it's $$$ (they have a 30-day free trial). However, you can try the GIMP, which is also very good and free: http://www.gimp.org/
Hallucination
Hey d333 are those claws coming out of your avy's head or are you just happy to see me? Seriously your keeping me busy making all these beards that I'll pos in a week or so.
Char Ell
OK, all together now........ Oooooo...ahhhhh...ohhhhhh... When will we be privileged to see the evilness of Darth333's Death Star background for her avatar? Upon some poor unfortunate soul's ejection from the forums? shock1 (not me though. I'm not volunteering or anything...) BTW you do have a very cool avatar. I'm sure I'm not the first person who has commented on it but it is rather striking. And now that you've lightened the background up your avatar's features stand out all the more. Hmmm... I think it's time to start fiddling around with Photoshop... EDIT: Hehe, well so much for the suspense. The death star background does make your avatar's hair look different though... but it still doesn't compare to my bantha fodder avatar  *lets out big sigh after all the laughter* Sometimes I'm so stupid I just crack myself up. Prime
I just like that the file size allowance is so much bigger. That way I can spook you all with animated gifs!!
Bob Lion54
^^^^^^^ I like my Ninjai avatar, but it would be awsome if he were swinging his sword. Not to go off topic, but seeing as this is a tread about size; Does anyone think my sig is too large? Or, rather, being that it's fairly bight, does it bother anyone? I didn't relize how much it stood out untill I uploaded it.
MdKnightR
It is pretty gawdy IMO, but not overly distracting. By the way, how do you add an image to your signature?
Smilodon
Upload your image somewhere, then use [img.]-URL of your image-[/img.] (without the dots in the brackets) in the signature box of your user cp.
