JediKnight707 Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 As the name suggests, why do you like Star Wars? I like lightsabers Plus I like how in ESB the bad guys one once.
El Sitherino Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Wookiees and lightsabers. And the introduction of the slave girl outfit. :>
shaded6 Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 the Jedi and the Sith, because they are part of the ways of the force.... wookies are alright but they never show the physical strength Han Solo spoke of, chewbacca should have ripped C3P0's arm off even though i really felt for the droid. yes! princess leia was, hmmmm, very hot...too bad off screen she became addicted to cocaine and other drugs. seth
spinkle Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I love the Force and its place separating Good from Evil in an epic and never-ending struggle for balance. George Lucas obviously learned a lot from reading Joseph Campbell and isn't just paying him lip-service. (this is a positive statement, not a jab) Also I do really love lightsabers, how can you not?
RC-1162 Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 nothing but the force-battles and lightsaber duels. they rock!!!!
Jeff Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 To many reasons to name... Word. I can't think of too many things that I don't like about it, I like most things about it.
Tysyacha Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 For me, the epic struggle between good and evil, and the fact that even Darth Vader, the second-most-powerful Sith Lord, is redeemed in the end. That, and the lightsabers and the Force are awesome!
Tysyacha Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 My favorite is a saber-staff with the double blade, only mine would be silver.
Darth InSidious Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Too many reasons to name... As usual you hit the nail on the head. Personally, I usually miss and hit my thumb... Anyway, mainly, amongst the myriad of reasons, I like ancient stories of derring-do It's what got me interested in egyptology originally
Astrotoy7 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 SW is testimony to sticking to a creative vision, and backing up your belief in it by risking your entire livelihood on it. Thats what GL did, and in the process he revolutionised the whole media of film and the film making process. I find that part of GLs story quite inspiring. But Sw is special to me for many reasons, but most of all, the films, cartoons books games etc are FUN mtfbwya

Commander Obi-Wan Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 To many reasons to name... Ditto. But, I'll name one. Entertainment.
Sabretooth Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 BTW, what does "mtfbwya" stand for? may the force be with you all I like SW for it's lightsabres, coolness and flexibility. That, and it has an unexplainable factor that draws your inner soul to the emotions on screen.
Darth InSidious Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Ahh, that makes sense...I was worried it might be someone's initials...
Jae Onasi Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I like it because there's the classic good/evil struggle with non-stop action. The good guys win against impossible odds and do so with a certain amount of humor (like when Han's in the detention block in SW and tries to out talk the guy on the intercom, then shoots the speaker, saying it was a dumb conversation anyway). I also like lightsabers and the Force, and in the movies, the great special effects and music.
Vladimir-Vlada Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Too many reasons to name. But one is enough: Entertainment. Terros is it just me or that Twi'Lek is naked?
Darth_Terros Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Terros is it just me or that Twi'Lek is naked? Yeah i think it was drawn by one of the Star wars comics artists for some one at a convention but i cant remember where i found it.
Hallucination Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Why do I like the SW universe? KOTOR. Lightsabers. Space ships. Other stuff.
REDJOHNNYMIKE Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 All the standard stuff, but mostly I find it interesting that the universe was conceived with a good bit of openendedness in mind, you can apply pretty much any philosophy to it depending on how you see it (obi says so:xp: ), although one setback to that quality which I didn't appreciate was the whole trivialization of the force (midifreakinchlorians) @Vlad, not really, it's actually a new style of jedi robe which includes large, thick, juicy breastplates to cushion the blows of all those big sith staffsabers, there isn't actually any nudity it's just that the new robe design is more form-fitting for greater dexterity in saber duels...............and that's not a lightsaber:naughty: get your brain out of the gutter, she's just doing karaoke:D
RobQel-Droma Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 Because it just is. As Prime said, too many reasons. It is just an amazing and complex universe to explore, watch, and play in.
Vladimir-Vlada Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 and that's not a lightsaber I was afraid you were going to say that. get your brain out of the gutter, she's just doing karaoke Phew.
Astrotoy7 Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 This is also true BTW, what does "mtfbwya" stand for? what sabre hsa said is mostly true juts the "a" = always. Many of us pre 2000 TFNers used it, and it's stuck since then mtfbwya
