IG-64
Eh, i've always thought anime is just a passing fad. Not that I don't like it, some of it is pretty good. But I think it'll drop in popularity over time. One thing I don't like about anime is that no matter what anime it is, it'll always have that one character, or episode, ect. that's just weird, doesn't make any sense, and leaves you saying "wtf?". TiE23
I have a few rules on my anime viewing: If it has purple hair on any character, it sucks. If it has single frames that last for more then 20 seconds, it sucks. If it lacks funny expressions, it sucks. If it has big robots that look really unefficient and over all flashy and not at all logical in it's design, it sucks. If it has laser beams, it sucks. If it's main animation attraction is how much the breasts of female characters bounce, it sucks. I like my **** with action, comedy, or story. (Samurai Champloo/Cowboy Bebop; Azumanga Daioh; Fullmetal Alchemist) ..desu.. Why do you say that?
BongoBob
I love most anime, plain and simple A couple that come to mind are FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and the two that really got me into anime, DBZ and Gundam Wing. I have found memories of watching DBZ, and Gundam Wing is even better now that I watch it again I don't care what people say, I love most anime No limewire speak yo ~ET

toms
Anime used to be good, then it got sucky. Stargate is what I watch. I'm not sure ayone who can stomach stargate without vomiting is allowed an opinion on TV or popular culture in general I'm guessing anime is big in the US right now? Its not that huge in the UK at all - though i guess its influence is felt in a lot of western art forms these days: like western animation, movies, computer games etc.. Anime is like any art form: some of it is great, some is good, a lot is average, some is bad and some is terrible. "Anime" is pretty much a western concept anyway. In japan cartoons are just seen as a part of the tv medium - so they make action, comedy, romance, drama, horror and so on - just like they do with tv in the west. Saying you like or dislike a medium like animation is like saying you like or dislike ALL tv or ALL movies, or ALL music rather than that you like or dislike certain genres within the medium. The initial article doesn't seem to amount to much more than a local politician making a statement to get a local audience to like him. Disney animation is absolute garbage these days - they have basically self destructed by releasing terrible cartoon movies for the last 15 years. And in the process they have near enough killed off 2d animation as a viable movie art form in the west.

CapNColostomy
I'm sorry, but did this dumbass say "highly detailed anime" or something like that? Because most of it looks like minimalistic ****. In fact, being stabbed in the eye with a frozen piece of **** > anime.
Lathain Valtiel
It depends on the anime show. Either way, it's drawn in Korea usually. As are American animation shows these days. Chew on that one. Heh.
TiE23
Could any animephiles point out like, the smoothest or the most detailed anime out there? Like fluid stuff, movies and TV series. I haven't seen very much so far.
TK-8252
If it's main animation attraction is how much the breasts of female characters bounce, it sucks. That's the best part. Pie™
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is a very detailed anime movie. Hellsing is also pretty good, but not as good-looking. But those are the only 2 animes I've ever liked. :/
toms
I tend not to like the overly detailed ones - in trying to make it look realistic they tend to just rob it of any character or charm. I usually like the ones that have a distinctive art style or try and do something new or different.

TiE23
A friend of mine was showing me some of that, looks kinda cool. I tend not to like the overly detailed ones - in trying to make it look realistic they tend to just rob it of any character or charm. I usually like the ones that have a distinctive art style or try and do something new or different. I've only seen the first couple episodes of Samurai Champloo, but so far the art has been pretty unique. And the lanky-ness of some of the characters shows like in Cowboy Bebop.
