What opinions do anybody have on this topic if the Jedi really existed on Earth? I believe the Jedi roles will possibly be; detectives in world law inforcement soldiers in the world's goverments wars, negotiators in world conflicts or the similar roles like the ancient Japanese samurai warriors played in ancient Japan. They'll be afraid of the Jedi's powers and want to be prepared for a counterattack, so they'll experiment with their own soldiers to try and get them the super powers the Jedi have. They've give their soldiers midichlorian injections to try and give them the abilities the Jedi have. Some will survive the process, others will die. then it'll be an all out wall between the Jedi and the government in the fight for survival. Hmmm..sounds just like "The 4400."! Alegis Posted September 1, 2006 Share Posted September 1, 2006 I don't see them as diplomats or negotiaters because people would fear them for their force powers (mind tricks) and rather feel attacked if someone sends one to them. You don't send mechwarriors with several assault rifles to negotiate something on a friendly level. They're excellent warriors, they'd get used like that. On the other hand, they could become wealthly cheating the casinos of the world and the stock market (until they were found out) and winning Randi's million dollar challenge. Until the inevitable. The powerful leaders and groups would be desperate to find out how their powers worked (and if they could gain that power on their side or wipe it out to eliminate a possible threat). They've got Mind Trick and all, so they'll be about as valuable as a nuke. Think about it - both nukes and Jedi can bring about either absolute peace in this world, or well, war. Otherwise, they would have been a global organization of peacekeeping, both international and local. They would be something like supercops, IMO - who take on both terrorists and petty criminals. If Jedis were among us since the beginning of mankind, they would slowly gain power until they collected power amongst themselves with their greater fitness; the normal people could not fight their enhanced abilities, and would therefore be subjugated and enslaved. The degree to which would depend on the numerous factions that the Jedi would split into, as they would have as many different beliefs as we do. Some factions would be benevolent authoritarian, some would be horrible dicatorships, and everything in between. I couldn't see any with regular humans running the show, though. If Jedis suddenly appeared today, they would be largely killed out of fear and some more modern countries, like the United States, would use them as governmental weapons of diplomacy and war. I gotta say that in our world, if they just started appearing now then i think it would be like x-men.. with them feared and hiding. If they had been around for millenia then i'd see them as dictators, or at least some form of samurai style nobility while we all worked as their peons. I can't see it lasting as an organised religion, as its based on illogical rubbish and it has a horrendous track record of about 50% drop out to become sith.
