Commander Obi-Wan
It was the inevitable, IMHO. Only time will tell if it is no longer "inevitable".
HerbieZ
Bwahahaha, i remember the rampant cheering for this movie and now it's all gone to poo. Bwahahaha. Honestly, the only decent game move i ever saw was Doom, and that was'nt too great. Game films just don't do well in the end. I can only laugh, LAUGH OUT LOUD I TELLS YA! Ztalker
Personally, I don't think a movie would do the Halo franchise any good. It would ruin your bond with the character. Although I don't question PJ's abilities, I do think he shouldn't put this through. The odds aren't in his favor...
xmovingpicturesx
Honestly, the only decent game move i ever saw was Doom, and that was'nt too great. Mortal Kombat pwns Doom Quite frankly i'm actually looking forward to the halo movie, no matter who's attched to the project. I tend not to worry about that. You can attach the greatest directors/actors/producers of all-time to any franchise and the films will still come out sh*t. ST: TOS movies, Episode I, Batman Begins, Superman II. It's happened millions of times. I don't want hype, I want film. Until the actual product is released, i'm forcing myself not too expect much. That way it's always better than i think it's gonna be.

CSI
I just cross my finger that it will come out not too late. That's all we can do. I believe Universal and Fox are doing their best, so...Pray.
Negative Sun
Silent Hill was good IMO, very good atmosphere to the movie that is the exact same as in the games... Never was a big Halo fan, but I might watch it on DVD someday probably.

Aurora Merlow
I was very much looking forward to it. At first i was scepticle but when i found out PJ was involved i knew he wouldn't let out a rubbish film based on a game, but make a great movie about a good story. Lets hope it gets back on track, and then it makes hundreds of millions of dollars so Fox and Universal miss out
stingerhs
from what i've been reading, Peter Jackson and the other writers from the LOTR trilogy are doing the majority of the writing for the Halo movie, of course with Bungie looking over their shoulders. if they can write up this movie as well as the LOTR trilogy, its going to be at least better than past video game based movies. something else to keep in mind is that this isn't the first time the studios have pulled out from a Peter Jackson project. the LOTR trilogy was originally going to be two movies until Fox pulled out. then, New Line stepped in, and the movie was approved to be split into three. Well this doesn't really surprise me. I don't really care if it gets made or not, I have little interest in it.
Vaelastraz
Hm, Peter Jackson is definitly a very skilled Director, but Lotr is written not by him but by Tolkien. I doubt a Halo movie has a good plot.. Anyway, there are some quite good movies based on games. I'm looking forward to Dead or Alive, and if it is for the 4 hot actresses. I liked Tolkien's stuff, but I was frustrated when I saw the movie. Sure it had great FX and all, but the screenplay was really lacking. They had cut out so much and changes so much, just so that it looks hollywood. I bet those guys would have messed up Halo as well. They would have had Master Chief have an affair with Cortana, or something.

Jeff
Indeed. More like "based on the novels by JRR Tolkien."

The Tolkien "purists" whine a lot, but frankly, a direct paper-to-screen adaptation would have churned out a horrible product. As for Halo, it'll have the same fate if it gets made. I'm sorry, the story of Halo is quite good, but you can't have Halo 1 movie version and hope it makes sense in 2 hours. There has to be serious changes. Q
I agree that Peter Jackson did a good job with those films, and while some parts were changed, it was nothing major and he still managed to capture the essence of the novels quite well, which I'm sure was a challenge. @Topic: I think that Splinter Cell has better film-making potential than Halo, but that's just my opinion. Sam Fisher rocks!

St. Jimmy
I heard that they're not gonna have the same storyline as the game does. Is that true? I actually think it would be a wise decision. If they used the original storyline they risk having alot of dissapointed hard-core HALO fans.
