Diego Varen
Today, I was wondering which you Forumites prefer. A Prequel or a Sequel. I have no idea which I prefer, since a Prequel sometimes gives a backstory to it's predecessor and a Sequel continues the previous story. So vote here. Vaelastraz
That really depends on the content. All I can say is, that I personally prefer Pre-Kotor stories. Stories that take place before Kotor I are rare, but they are very interesting imo. Therefore I'll vote prequel, but that only counts for the Kotor era. SilentScope001
Prequels are nice, but for the most part, I prefer sequels to continue a story. In K2, we already got ourselves a prequel in the Hidden Tomb, so my desire to learn more about the Mandalorian Wars has been sastified. If you really need to tell "new things", do them via flashbacks. Besides, let learn what happens next in a story, rather than go back and find out "new things". Alkonium
Well, prequels are a nice way to tie up loose ends, but there's a limit to how many you can do (ie. it was never possible for George Lucas to make more than three prequel films, for obivous reasons.), but on the other hand, sequels tend to go on way longer than they should. Prime
I take it on a case by case basis...
CSI
Eh, I agree with Prime above...So I don't vote.
Emperor Devon
It depends greatly on the content. Prequels are at a slight disadvantage in how there's less room for the story to develop (with the future already being set in stone), though that's irrelevant if it's done well enough. Darth InSidious
I take it on a case by case basis... QFE, although given what GL did with the Prequel Trilogy I'm not generally well-disposed to them.
Commander Obi-Wan
I like 'em both. So, I, too, agree with Prime.
Reclaimer
I prefer Sequels. Id like to see the storyline finish, then go back to the beginings to see how it all started, or the events leading to the start.
Jeff
I have liked both before, so I can't really make such a broad generalization.
Taos
Yeah I like them both, but to chose one over the other...would depend upon the subject/story that we're dealing with.
Titanius Anglesmith
The content of whatever story is being told decides which one is better IMO. Each case is different, so I would go with both.
DarthMuffin
I would go with the sequel, since a prequel would either a) be dull because we already know the future (think about Palpatine in RotS; it wasn't a big storyline twist when he turned out to be evil) b) create a lot of lore retcon. Of course, if they choose to go way back in time it would be fine. But I do think that a sequel would be a lot easier to make interesting.
Rabish Bini
Usually sequals. Note I say usually.
