Ztalker
Ah, you mean subtle jokes...like the 'Look, I have your fodder' and 'It's an Alderaan!' jokes in the original Kotor? Seems better then over-the-top jokes, imo.
Silveredge9
Roosh’s Datapad 8-0-12 1-4-19-19-4-17 19-7-4-13 24-14-20 That’s the access code, the access code that will allow me to finally claim the fortune and glory that fate has constantly denied me. Around 50 years ago – At the height of the series of conflicts that is commonly referred to as “The Great Sith War”, the Jedi Planet Ossus - an important Jedi site for apparently over twenty-five millennia, which served as both a repository of knowledge and a center for learning – Was destroyed by another group of Jedi called the Sith. The Sith somehow ravaged the planet into a toxic wasteland – Destroying thousands upon thousands of years worth of Jedi knowledge in the process. Alone, it’s an interesting tale, one which I had managed to piece together from numerous sources. However, what isn’t common knowledge is that shortly before Ossus’ destruction – The Sith invaded the planet, trying to claim the Jedi’s trinkets and treasures for themselves before they destroyed the planet. They somewhat succeeded, apparently claiming many valuable Jedi artifacts, trinkets and treasures for themselves. After the war was won and the Sith were defeated – The Jedi managed to reclaim these stolen items from the planets the Sith had used to store them, planets such as Korriban. 50 years ago, the Jedi left Korriban - confident they had reclaimed their lost treasures… But they were wrong, a Sith named Reto Saar, one of few survivors of the Jedi onslaught had managed to escape death, taking with her some of the treasures that they themselves originally stole from Ossus – She and a few other Sith then vanished into the Korriban wastelands, never to be seen again. I consider myself an intelligent man, and usually I wouldn’t care for these local fairy-tales – But, by pure chance I have managed to acquire genuine historical proof which details the last recorded sighting of Reto Saar and her companions by another fleeing Sith, an account which proves the story is true! An account which proves that Jedi treasure still remains on Korriban! The account describes the then likely destination of Reto Saar, a small cave – hidden deep within an expansive inhospitable area of the planet named the Korriban Wastes! The problem was, how do you find a single cave in a region as expansive as the Korriban Wastes? Especially when that region is restricted to essentially all but the Sith themselves. I have solved both problems, firstly – Apparently it’s possible to reach the Korriban Wastes undetected by moving through Czerka’s mining tunnels, a route which I will no doubt take. And secondly; a few years ago, when Czerka were first contracted by the Sith to develop Dreshdae into something more then a back water colony – They, unbeknownst to the Sith – sent out scout teams to survey the surrounding area, which included the outlining regions of the Korriban Wastes. They’re report, which itself is contained in Czerka’s mainframe, and which I have now acquired the access codes too – detailed the exact location of a cave structure they had found, which – to someone such as myself, who is familiar with Reto Saar’s tale, matches the description of the cave as per detailed in the account. So, I have within my reach both the location of the Reto Saar’s cave and a means to reach Reto Saar’s cave – But the main problem is, I need to have unrestricted access to Czerka’s Compound, or more specifically Czerka’s Maintenance Level; which houses the mainframe and would allow me to reach the Korriban Wastes through the Mining Tunnels. I think I’ve found a solution, If I can convince this Czerka Official named Thongar to give me an entertainment contract, I should have all the necessary authorization I need to access the Maintenance Level – and by extension the lost Jedi Treasure. I’m so close I can taste it! Which is why I’ve chosen to only create a single copy of this datapad, so nobody else will ever learn about my plans. I just hope I don’t loose it. Above is the text featured in a datapad which will serve as an introduction to one of the sidequests featured in the mod. All areas mentioned in the text (Czerka's Compound, Korriban Wastes, Mining Tunnels, Maintenance Level) are all actual areas which you as a player will enter at one point or another. I had just read the old Tales of the Jedi comics, so I figured I'd do a TOTJ themed side quest. Also, a few random screenshots of another sidequest. - Entertainment Contract - Cathar* - Disco Boogie! - Czerka Guy *The skin, or more specifically the body skin is still in development - Which why the head and body don't seem to match at the neck area. Ferc Kast
I found a typo in your datapad: They’re report What it should be is: Their report But, other than that, it looks undeniably cool. Wait....That was Maltida in there, wasn't it?

I'm sure there are plenty of typos, but as previously mentioned - They will all be ironed out before release. So don't worry about it.

kotorcrazyguy
how much longer, this is getting to be so exciting, I wanna download so bad, the old one is fun but it just is getting to be a bit older than old, so I want something new for once. No offense to it though.

Your first BOS mod excelled in story and dialog and I'm expecting the same thing with this one. Thanks for the kind words. The original BoS was pretty much a learning experience in not just KOTOR modding, but storytelling in general - Right now, I'm using what I learned from that period and applying it to BoS:SR, so hopefully you will enjoy that more. From a personal stand point, I see BoS as my Star Wars, and Solomon's Revenge as my Empire Strikes Back - So that should be enough to indicate the differing level of quality between the two mods. I love news of this mod, You have to play with normal party, Matilda as PC, PC and Matilda or normal party with Matilda? The main quest, and some of the side quests require that you have Matilda in your party. It doesn' really matter who the 3rd party member is. Does that mean that the lightsaber duels will actually look as if people are trying to kill each other? (Hey the Vader Vs.Obi-wan wasn't very good) Hey Silver, just a question, will Solomon be a character that you encounter several times over the course of the mod, or will you encounter him once at the end of the mod? Papership
Perfect! I'm glad you're keeping your secrets! Then I can keep reading this thread and getting hype-crazy without being spoiled! That data pad had me in stitches by the way. Super. The original BoS was pretty much a learning experience... [snip] ...hopefully you will enjoy that more... Darth InSidious
Silver, I'm a bit concerned by the datapad...from the perspective of plot development, it seems rather like you're loading half your eggs in one basket - rather like the old TV sci-fi method of having one character stand around in the third quarter of the story and vomit plot detail over another until the entire thing was laid bare for all to see... I'd suggest first of all cutting down the amount of information in the datapad, and putting some inthe mouths of other characters. My other suggestion would be to actually lace the datapad with inaccuracies, and put about a lot of misinformation - maybe have a couple of characters flat-out lie to the PC, to keep things a little challenging. Silveredge9
P.S. Nice to meet someone else who calls all their files "blabla" with some random affixed number. Yeah, it's just a habit I have. I usually can't be bothered to name stuff properly - The same can be said for most of the files within BoS itself, there's lots of scripts named "blawarp" and "blarun". Hehe, we've already had this discussion in msn - But I'll repeat the main point of what we talked about here for the masses. - I think the core of the issue relates to peoples preferances concerning information in RPG's - In that should all information within the game have a genuine use for the player in relation to quests? Or is it acceptable for information to be used to add depth for the sake of depth? Such as the hundreds of books available for the player to read in the Elder Scrolls games. Personally, I prefer the later - Although any documents in the mod will be related to the mod in someway in terms of adding depth to what the player will see or experiance during the main quest. Gregthegen
I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the First Brotherhood of Shadow, all the way from Meeting Daemon to The last battle with The Shadow. I was just wondering a couple of things, I know this is an expansion to the first, but is it a "after you defeat the shadow and before you meet bastila" expansion, or sandwiched in between your arrival on the Orion and before you are almost airlocked? Secondly, will Matilda converse at all with T3? (Just to give the unusually silent droid some dialogue.) Lastly, thanks for giving this Sith a chance to grow even more powerful Muah Ha Ha Ha... ahem. Thanks, Have a happy memorial day. From: The Sith.

Thanks, Have a happy memorial day. From: The Sith. The expansion pack starts after you finish the main BoS quest and have finished all the dialogue/memories with Matilda on the Ebon Hawk. Then basically all you have to do to start the whole chain of events into order is to exit the Ebon Hawk whilst on Korriban with Matilda in your party. And theirs no real reason for Matilda to talk to any of the other party members, so no. ---------------- Anyways, I've beem working on some sidequests recently - One collection of missions I've enjoyed working on so far are the assassination missions. The assassination missions basically have you killing specific targets on the whim of another in exchange for items/credits - Similiar to the Genoharadan quests in the original game. However, unlike the Genoharadan quests - I've implemented different ways in which you can dispatch the target. Generally a "straightforward" way, and a "stealthy" way. For example, one of the missions requires you to kill a Mandalorian who trains by himself in his apartment. You can just run into his apartment and kill him, which is how most of the Genoharadan missions generally play out. Or, if you want to be discreet about the assassination - You can visit one of Czerka's equipment guys (Which I like to nickname Q ), and get mission specific equipment from him - Which in this mission is a small bomb and it's detonator. Now, you have to find some way of actually getting the bomb to the guy without him noticing that it's you - So what you can do is find a deactivated droid that's positioned within the area, reactivate it, attach the bomb to it's frame, and then program it to move to the Mandalorians position. Now it's up to you as a player to equip the detonator (Which is essentially an armband), and determine when is the right time to set off the bomb. Set if off too early, and you've just wasted the explosive, but set it off at the right time - And the Mandalorian explodes along with the droid. This is just one of the missions, different missions have different ways of dispatching the targets.
DarthRevan243
I disagree. Matilda should talk to the party members. Here's why: She is worried that the other Party Members will turn on Revan. She needs to observe their background for a weakness if/when they turn on Revan. She talks to T3-M4 and programmes him to observe the others..... ...and I also think that T3 should be given SOME attention in K1

Though I tend to agree with Silver, even if Matilda wants to observe the other party member's you don't learn anything about a person's intentions from what they say; you judge on action; why would she need T3 to observe? T3 isn't force sensetive, so what could he really tell Matilda? @ Topic, Assination Missions sounds good Keep up the good work, I look foward to release! If I could get the original actors to record dialogue, I'd probably do something - But until then, don't expect anything.
DarthRevan243
Alright. If you don't like this following idea then I'll just leave quietly... T3 doesn't need a voice actor because he's a droid that beeps and boops. So really you now have no reason not to do it. I just want to see what happens when Matilda and T3 start plotting an Evil plan against the others...
