Commander Obi-Wan Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 [copied/pasted from the Swamp] So, the name for "Bond 22" has been revealed! IVER HEATH, England (AFP) — "Quantum of Solace" was unveiled Thursday as the title of the next James Bond film at the launch of the superspy's latest adventure. The name for the movie, directed by Marc Forster, and until now provisionally titled "Bond 22", was revealed at Pinewood Studios, west of London, where filming is already underway. "Quantum of Solace" was the name of a short story in Bond creator Ian Fleming's 1960 anthology "For Your Eyes Only". Daniel Craig is reprising his role as 007, following his 2006 debut in "Casino Royale". The new movie will also star Ukrainian model and actress Olga Kurylenko as the new Bond girl, with French actor Mathieu Amalric -- currently starring in "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" -- cast as the main villian. "Quantum of Solace" is set to be released later this year. Interesting name, no doubt. I can't wait for the movie, though. And the new bond girls!
Jeff Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Pretty cool name I guess. Glad its an official Fleming name. This is one of the top movies of 08 for me so I can't wait for it.
90SK Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Yeah, ditto. It's cool that they came up with something from the original source.
HerbieZ Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 It sounds like something QVC would try to sell on their Dimonique hours. Does look killer tho.
Rogue Nine Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Title sounds like it should be a pathetic-looking sculpture at the Met that tries to pass itself off as (modern) 'art'. New Bond girls look decidedly unremarkable in comparison to past beauties. It better have a good story/balls-out action to overcome these deficiencies.
El Sitherino Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Title is rather meh, hopefully this doesn't reflect on the story. I'm confident in Craig's return to his role.
Ctrl Alt Del Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Bond fear no man, no woman, nothing except getting old. New Bond girls look decidedly unremarkable in comparison to past beauties. QFE. Well, I hope to see Craig back and his unique nuke style.
Sabretooth Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 This is probably the only decent title from Bond I've heard so far, except maybe a few. Most sound pretty camp. I still have to watch Casino Royale (shame on me) so I think I'll keep out of this one.
Corinthian Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Quantum of Solace sounds like an episode of Star Trek: Voyager. And not in a positive way.
Darth InSidious Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 It sounds like a Lawrence Miles novel.
El Sitherino Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Ooh, I got one. It sounds like a movie with George Clooney.
HerbieZ Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 It sounds like me naked lying on a bed of straw. I had a look at the latest bond girls and they are somewhat doggish in appearance.
mimartin Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 The movie title made me think that that Scott Bakula was the new Bond.
igyman Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I never liked Bond, that is until Casino Royale came out, so I'm looking forward to the next one. Hopefully it will continue down the path Casino Royale started. I do agree the title sounds a bit sci-fi-ish, but I'm not going to speculate until I see the actual movie.
JoeDoe 2.0 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Well, it seems it's a year full of good movies. I like Bond movies with Sean Connery and Pierce Brossman as 007 (the best portrayers IMO) Casino Royale was good and I hope this new one will be the same
Ctrl Alt Del Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Pierce Brossman as 007 (the best portrayers IMO) Brosnan had a nice haircut, and that's all. Even that was screwed on him after he done the lame El Matador.
