Rogue Nine
Answering the topic: No, we'll never have world peace. Not as long as there are Israelis and Palestinians fighting over the same piece of stupid land, just as they have been for the past thousand years. Ctrl Alt Del
You don't call it stupid. Your home will be burned to the ground or something. EDIT: Hello Nine, I was kidding here.

Jae Onasi
*Jae yanks on the thread and whistles loudly* "Hey--the topic is back over here--you know, world peace!" That is all.
Tommycat
See we can't even have a thread where everyone agrees without a battle breaking out... Jeez I think that's proof enough that there will never be world peace.
Ray Jones
Differences, disagreement and discussion do not equal war.
Corinthian
At least the combat is turn-based.
Tommycat
Did I say war? I don't believe I did... And a battle of wits is still a battle:D And if we cannot even have a thread with no battle of wits going on even on something we are universally in agreement with, how are we ever expected to keep from escalating when there are issues we disagree on? Let alone if we disagree on where to draw the line on the map.
Jae Onasi
At least the combat is turn-based. *Jae falls off chair laughing* The only way we could get complete agreement on everything to achieve world peace would be if everyone was exactly the same. That's never going to happen.

Quanon
Would be painfully boring if we did. Was about to say that ! Now I feel like a slow idiot ! *Takes loaded AK-47* Uh... If there should be world peace "enforced" I would prefer something like the Matrix. Though I don't want it designed by Microsoft, nor by Nintendo, ... Mario music all the time On the other hand I don't know who I'dd like to design such a big system. But it won't insure "peace" it would be a digitale war then, with spawn points. And some crazy booming voice yelling "head-shot" while your in the trenches blasting away.( + some epic melody ) Strange but looking at the forum it seems everyone agrees there is not such thing possible as "world" peace. Let alone that someone is with peace with himself / herself. What about that ? Anyone wants a Mad Max world ? It has buggys and V8's ?

You're going to feel slow again: Let the machines control the world while we feed their batteries inside cryo tubes with our perfect, false and virtual lives each... Quanon
I call the V8 Interceptor with the blower and HUGE fuel tanks:D I want that insane buggy, with the 'laugh'-gas tank or that big truck looked fun aswell Though I'd give you the insane pirates/ road thugs to you to handle. Iiittsss Thhheeee NIIIGHHTT RIIIDEERRRR ! @Ctrl: I've read your post. But run the world by machines could also be something like the TERMINATOR, we don't that now do we. I then prefer the machines of the Matrix.
Ctrl Alt Del
But run the world by machines could also be something like the TERMINATOR, we don't that now do we. True. Quanon
True. But I think I should have added the "Time" word to make it look like Terminator. Actually I kinda like the TX. Quanon
Perhaps, if suicide's your concept of a good idea. Maybe Skynet is a bit drastic, what if we changed its programming to be less agresive. That might be the best thing to do, let machines do the goverment tasks. And if we do that in every country around the world , who knows what might happen. Perhaps the baddest scenario would be that like of I robot. Humies getting locked up to preserve them of doing something stupid and hurt themselfs or others. Totenkopf
Well, only problem with programming is that if the machine becomes self-aware, it will probably exceed its programming. If that happens.....let's hope they view Asimov as a kind of god. I still think that a good way to rock the rest of the world back on its heels would be to export all our excess lawyers to gum up their systems. Quanon
I still think that a good way to rock the rest of the world back on its heels would be to export all our excess lawyers to gum up their systems. Hmm, makes me think about this, though I've no idea where I seen or read this story about a 'world'; where when people are in such argument and close to fighting they get thrown out to fight it out in a sort of an arena. Its kinda a funny idea that could actually work really well. Like when you get these nasty trouble with elections ( I'm thinking of Africa not the USA )and other sometimes heated discussion things ( religion and such ) you throw in the hotheads who like to fight for that kind of thing into an arena and let them rip them each other apart in there, instead of blasting and shooting up citys / countrys / world. Might have been Mad Max, ... ThunderDome ?
