Indy 4 Trailer

Yes, truly epic. They are even letting Indiana show his age in the movie. :) Instead of like in James Bond, where Im still not sure if its really different guys and James Bond is just a code name, or if they are trying to get us to believe its the same guy through all the movies... >.>

Hmmm..did you guys read the first post of that form board?

And then (spoiler warning) Lucas gets a little more (spoiler alert) specific: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will apparently nudge our hero away from his usual milieu of spooky archaeology and into the realm of (spoiler Code Red) science fiction. “What it is that made it perfect was the fact that the MacGuffin I wanted to use and the idea that Harrison would be 20 years older would fit,” Lucas says. “So that put it in the mid-50s, and the MacGuffin I was looking at was perfect for the mid-50s. I looked around and I said, ‘Well, maybe we shouldn’t do a 30s serial, because now we’re in the 50s. What is the same kind of cheesy-entertainment action movie, what was the secret B movie, of the 50s?’ So instead of doing a 30s Republic serial, we’re doing a B science-fiction movie from the 50s. The ones I’m talking about are, like, The Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Blob, The Thing. So by putting it in that context, it gave me a way of approaching the whole thing.”

I personally don't think sci-fi would be good for such an adventure. I really like the 'realistic' feel of the series. Or course, there has been mystery and humor. But still...

@Below:

It's a simple repost from a statement of George Lucas. I only pointed out I (personally) don't like a combination of Sci-Fi and adventure in this form.

I never said any of those 50's movies were bad or anything, hell, I've never seen them. But I''ll go and edit.

And yes, I'm still alive.

Rhettski, you always get immensely excited by trailers ;)

I remember we had to get the LFN subcontracted cleaners in after you saw the trailer for ROTS :D

I just hope it turns out to be actually OK and not one of those "it looked great in the trailer" deals

I think I'm the only one not really excited for it. I was at first, but after watching the trailer, not anymore.

To me it seems that CGI and animation has really cursed directors to make cheesy movies. Examples: Star Wars Prequels, and in Pirates of the Caribbean (all the ones after the Black Pearl).

To me it seems that's exactly what they're doing with this Indiana Jones movie. All of the previous movies were amazing, and now they are tryng to appeal to younger audiences by making it have cheesy lines, an unreal plot (at least the other movies at a more realistic mythology appeal to them), and lets face it Harrison is too old. When he hits the drivers in the Geep it just looked very forced..

I don't know.. I hope I'm wrong when it comes out.

I have to say, Im with you.. it if wasnt Indy and Lucas/Spielberg, we'd all be watching that trailer and groaning afterwards... ADMIT IT!

The SW TV series are far more tantalising IMO.
