Quanon Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 10 years ago today, I graduated from college. Euhm... congrats ! Not sure what you're aiming on, but my guess would be you're feeling somewhat "down" ?
MdKnightR Posted May 9, 2008 Author Posted May 9, 2008 That would be a good guess. I don't know. I feel like I've lost 10 years somehow. I have a degree that I no longer have a use for. Of course, it was a conscious decision on my part to leave teaching. It just seems like I've lost my way.
Quanon Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 That would be a good guess. I don't know. I feel like I've lost 10 years somehow. The feeling you've been going in circles and progressed in anyway ? These last 2 years have been like that for me as I just kept restarting college things. So far the only thing I got know is the feeling I'm pro loser quiter guy... not that great. I have a degree that I no longer have a use for. Of course, it was a conscious decision on my part to leave teaching. It just seems like I've lost my way. There's got to be something you've reached, a certain goal or its that you've just lost ? Though if its already been 10 years, perhaps its a sort of midlife crisis cropping up, with the dazzeling feel what should I be doing now for next 20 years, then just work. My mom and dad went through a samesort of thing, but since my sister has a kid they kind like resurrected. I'm not sure what to say, as I'm just youngster compared to you...
adamqd Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 It's been ten years since I dropped out of an Architecture degree in the first year, then thought it would be good to do recreational drugs for 5 years while holding a variety of minimum wage laboring jobs down to support the debauchery... At least you got your degree It's all good now though, although I could do with some women love lately , I guess what I'm trying to say is, things don't always turn out the way you envisioned but as long as you've got your health and your eager to do something at least, then it ain't that bad.
Jason Skywalker Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Ten years ago i still wasn't on school. Those were magical times. I also feel like this school year passed on so fast, it seems like i didn't get to enjoy it.
Rev7 Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Me, I have a really long way to go until I am done with school.
Samuel Dravis Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Ten years ago I was on a farm raising animals, herding sheeps and competing in 4-H competitions while reading Lord of the Rings out in the one hundred acre field my parents had. I fought my brother furiously with stick-lightsabers and I only listened to classical music at the time. ...ya that's me.
Ctrl Alt Del Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Ten years ago I had no worries. Man, I'm feeling down now.
90SK Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 That would be a good guess. I don't know. I feel like I've lost 10 years somehow. I have a degree that I no longer have a use for. Of course, it was a conscious decision on my part to leave teaching. It just seems like I've lost my way. I don't remember what I was doing ten years ago. Probably starting first grade. I really don't know what to say about your woes with time... it's hard to relate; I guess I feel like I wanted my grade-school years to last forever, so I'd never have to leave my friends and take on the responsibilities of being an adult. What I need to learn is acceptance... that'd probably help you too. Isolate what it is that's bringing you down, and do your best to try and remedy it. I mean... that's not very helpful advice. If you feel like you've lost your way, it goes without saying that you need to try and find a way to get back on track, assuming that's what you need to be happy. If the only track you can get back on is only going to make it worse, though, than don't worry about it. You'll just drift aimlessly until you find something to do for the rest of your life... purpose isn't as elusive as people think. At least, I think so.
Totenkopf Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 ~10 years ago I made my 2nd trip to Europe (Germany, Belgium, France, Austria, Hungary, Denmark and the Czech Republic).
Bee Hoon Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Ten years' ago, I skipped Standard 4 and went straight to Standard 5. It still doesn't feel all that long ago... For some strange reason, even secondary school feels less recent.
Gurges-Ahter Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 My son turns 4 in 8 days. It feels like I was 4 not too long ago. Even worse, my wife turns 29 this year (in October). That's the first birthday of my mother that I remember from my childhood - when she turned 29. That's really strange to me.

MdKnightR Posted May 10, 2008 Author Posted May 10, 2008 Man, sometimes I forget that I am surrounded by pups here in these forums. Well, let me give them some advice....Don't be in a hurry to grow up! Savor your childhood while it lasts. After high school, the world kicks into high gear.
Det. Bart Lasiter Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Eleven years ago I left the army.rayston were you a black ops secret agent guy who traveled the world assassinating uppity politicians?
Bee Hoon Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 So you were above average at being standard? Nay, just that Malaysia is above average at retaining those strange Brit systems, and mangling it in the process. *shakes head sorrowfully* See, I knew I should have used the word "grade" instead
Totenkopf Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 I hate this thread. Surely you haven't been sitting in a cave all this time, have you?
