Laserschwert Posted July 21, 2009 Author Posted July 21, 2009 Yeah, I probably need to get some fresh diapers.
Lagomorph01 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 I thought the same thing. I can smell you all the way here in The Netherlands!
MadMattUK Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 <chants>we want loom, we want loom, we want loom</chants>
Scummbuddy Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 You were right to get pissy. First Purple Tentacle posts "His" new poster. It wasn't until his double-posting did he mention that he didn't make it. But again, never did he link people to the larger version or give credit to the person who made it, which would be Javier Burgos. The point of this thread is to create new, or large versions of LucasArts (or similar) posters. Posting a 200X300 pixel image really wouldn't look good made poster-size.
Longcat Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 Yeah, give credit where due. Finders keepers... pffft.
Laserschwert Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 I'm torn between moderating this thread and being nice to newbies...
Ergonpandilus Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I got now Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge clean poster, without the title, now in my wall printed to 70x50cm and it looks great. Thanks for the scan.

He never claimed it was his own poster... he just posted a small picture of a cool Monkey Island poster someone made, where's the harm in that? You seem to be aware of the fact that the things you're picking on are invalid (you made it seem like you thought he was claiming to have made the poster, but then made it clear that you didn't actually think that, and I'm sure you don't seriously think that he was intending for us to print the thumbnail off and put it on our walls). Don't create problems where there are none, it just creates unnecessary tension and bad feelings in the forum.

Snugglecakes Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I reckon it's time this thread got back onto Laserschwert's awesome posters
Fealiks Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Where is the harm in writing the artists name under his work? Where's the harm in not? I'm not at all saying that he shouldn't have written the artist's name under the image, but the fact that he didn't doesn't warrant all this moaning. Seriously, I've never seen so much uproar over something that barely qualifies as an event.
Laserschwert Posted July 27, 2009 Author Posted July 27, 2009 But filling this thread with eventless posts (including discussions about them, like you do right now) isn't really helping to keep the thread on track. And this thread should be about poster creation, reference material for them, techniques to make them and so forth... and I WOULD have understood if purple-tentacle had posted that poster with a question about it, or the idea to turn it into a big poster. But simply posting it without any idea behind it is technically spamming. I don't want this thread to turn into a "post anything that's remotely related to LucasArts and posters"-thread. Let's be a little more productive.
Fealiks Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I think he probably misunderstood the purpose of the thread. Anyway, I do see what you mean. We could purge the thread - maybe create a seperate topic for all these crappy posts (or just delete them)
Longcat Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 purple_tentacle: I can't speak for anyone else here, but I for one am getting pretty fed up by your crap. You never listen to any of the advice you are given and keep ranting on like a child. You should apologize to Laserschwert. And yes, stop that god darn double posting!
Laserschwert Posted July 27, 2009 Author Posted July 27, 2009 *sigh* Any chance a mod can help me clean up the mess this thread has become?
MadMattUK Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Good the original thread poster confirm if a Loom poster is in the works?
Laserschwert Posted July 27, 2009 Author Posted July 27, 2009 I am planning to do it, of course... but I'm still in need of a 600 dpi box scan of an undamaged box...
MadMattUK Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 For goodness sake, give the man what he needs gawd damnit!
Longcat Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 MadMattUK: I suggest you buy a mint copy and have it scanned then. They're probably only 40-80 bucks on ebay. I have a box but it's a bit scuffed and has a sticker. Don't know if it would help much:(

Snugglecakes Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Be careful with the ebay offers, I've seen a few that show the box art but in the fine print it says you only get the CD and jewel case.
MadMattUK Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 i dont plan on buying the game, just gonna check if any of the sellers will be willing to scan in their box for free (or for a reasonably small fee). I have the game already, acquired using more er.... 21st century means.
SyntheticGerbil Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Be careful with the ebay offers, I've seen a few that show the box art but in the fine print it says you only get the CD and jewel case. I hate this ******** so much! I just want to gut everyone on Ebay that advertises a game as new and sends you a loose CD! ARRRGGGHHH!
Apple24 Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Hey Laserschwert, any chance you could do a poster of this? If so, would we have to email Bill for permission?
