Sith'ari Darth Bane
Nudity is not equal to sex. If you can only link nude to sex, well... is rather poor. Poor? You try being around several nude people while you yourself are nude and refrain from having any sexual thoughts. It's just not going to happen. Unless you are a naturalist. For some men it is hard to control their "appendages", when this happens in a nude public environment what do you think is going to happen? Public nudity not only leads to sex but can lead to jealousy, embarrassment, as well as have an effect on ones self esteem.

swphreak
Since I work in the datacenter, I'd have to go with no. I'd get way too cold. Plus, too many old people.

It's just not going to happen. Unless you are a naturalist. Then I guess I'm a naturalist because I most definitely have no sexual thoughts when I'm around a group of naked people. For some men it is hard to control their "appendages", when this happens in a nude public environment what do you think is going to happen? Those men should learn some self-control and stop viewing other people as sexual objects. Public nudity not only leads to sex but can lead to jealousy, embarrassment, as well as have an effect on ones self esteem. People who are ashamed of their own body should work on the issue, as it's not healthy to feel uncomfortable in your own skin.

True_Avery
Work in the nude? I don't even wear shorts at all. Not that I'm uncomfortable with my skin, but that I just feel awkward. Not embarrassed awkward, but I don't even sleep without pajama pants on. I just don't like the feeling of air on my legs. Topless I could do. Poor? Growing up in a house with nude artwork everywhere, and a mother that would frequently be comfortable in her own home I can say with some certainty that nudity doesn't really bother me
Darth_Yuthura
Those men should learn some self-control and stop viewing other people as sexual objects. Viewing and thinking are one thing; they're instinctual. It doesn't mean that I would want naked people around to provoke those animal instincts. Would you claim the same thing about an obese person on a diet salivating over chocolate cake? People who are ashamed of their own body should work on the issue, as it's not healthy to feel uncomfortable in your own skin. I may not look like Atlas, but that doesn't mean I'm ashamed of my physical condition. And even if I did, that doesn't mean I would choose to do so just because I am that fit. I'm fit enough that if I would not hesitate to go swimming for a social event.

mur'phon
No, because I work as a carer for mentaly impaired children. Otherwise I'd have no problem with it. Even if someone got a rise, wouldn't that just be a compliment to the cause of said rise?
Boba Rhett
What if you went somewhere nude with your hot sister and someone looked at her and got a rise, would you be obliged to defend her honor? Too many questions.
mur'phon
Nope because A I don't have a sister B: how is it my business who others find arousing and C if someone did they'd present a rather nice target for her should she feel like defending the honor herself:D
Quanon
Poor? You try being around several nude people while you yourself are nude and refrain from having any sexual thoughts. It's just not going to happen. Unless you are a naturalist. Again, its a mind set, I did art classes I had to draw severale nude models. Some of them where women and some of those where nice and well hot I can't say it didn't cross me for a few minutes, "oooh sex, drool drool' after that it was back to drawing and getting that figure right on paper. I don't see it differant on a office work floor, you might wonder of a bit, but then you need to do your work and shift your focus. My points remains; if you can only link nude to just sex... For some men it is hard to control their "appendages", when this happens in a nude public environment what do you think is going to happen? And? Is that so bad? Humiliating? Perhaps, but your body is a 100% naturale, give or take some medicale addons. Its something you don't need to be ashamed for. Its only a dang shame western society has grown this akward on the subject. Thanks to religion and its weird social rules, morale stuff from ages past. Public nudity not only leads to sex but can lead to jealousy, embarrassment, as well as have an effect on ones self esteem. So can a big house, a sport car, rich, wealthy, there are tons of things that envoce the same feelings. Sex is a positive thing, as its the means to procreate and its infact gives us the power to create new life. How can that be bad. Besides premitive cultures could survive with being more naked, why couldn't our own "oh so highly evolved" one do it. I do know clothes have protective function to say the least. But don't get so warped on this...
SpaceAlex
Viewing and thinking are one thing; they're instinctual. It doesn't mean that I would want naked people around to provoke those animal instincts. I will say that in our current society it would be nearly impossible to go running around naked and feel totally comfortable. Not only are people full of prejudices; it's also not warm enough to be naked most of the time. Now, if I was somewhere in Africa where it's normal to be naked, I would be. That said, I don't want people to drop all their clothes off and start running around naked. All I wish is for them is to start accepting nudity and not view it as something evil and something to be ashamed of. Would you claim the same thing about an obese person on a diet salivating over chocolate cake? Well, actually, yes. They also have issues to work out. I may not look like Atlas, but that doesn't mean I'm ashamed of my physical condition. And even if I did, that doesn't mean I would choose to do so just because I am that fit. I'm fit enough that if I would not hesitate to go swimming for a social event. Yes, but if you were to drop your clothes off, would it lead you to embarrassment and affected your self esteem, as Deker's post suggested? If it would, then I believe you have convinced yourself that being nude is improper and should be avoided when in a public place full of strangers. I won't say that you should change or anything (it's your life, after all), but I personally feel better when I'm not carrying any burden (in my head) with me. Totenkopf
Frankly, depending on your line of work or type of work place, it's flat out unsanitary. If you work at home or the porno industry that's one thing. In an office setting....I'm w/Phreak and mimartin on this.....too many unsightly people that I don't want to see naked and too many things to catch your junk if your not careful. Just think of the new ergonomic rules OSHA would come up with too. Also, while the lust factor may abate over time, it's hardwired into human nature. Of course, just think how much less awkward those "trips to the supply room" will be.

Darth_Yuthura
Well when I'm asked the question, I take reality into consideration and know that it would be most unpleasant, not because of the modesty issue, but because of other people generating what I dislike about the subject.
