Those people probably have at least 1000 posts, you get a title with that count. ;) There are a few mods that have below 1000 though.

how do you get to become a MOD

I'd like to know how some here became a mod. I'm still surprises that types like Eets and DarthFergie became mods ... spammers of old.

I guess they make a list of the heavy posters and than pick random.

Losing a mod status is pretty hard too it seems. You can leave the forum for months and still stay a mod, post 50 posts and then leave again for some months ... without doing anything 'mod'-ulair.

mods also have the powers to attach files. A power they only use for their personal entertainment, never for modding purposses. (I've already stated once that they should drop that from mods too ... they wouldn't listen).

In short: Spam a lot and you can become mod, attach a few files to your post and then drop by once in a while.

In very short: You should just hate mods.

Absolute short: ;)

What type of personality does it take to become a mod? Becuase it seems pretty fun dealing with trolls and getting admired at.......

Well atleast people seem to admire you! ;)

Well I admire you, you seem like pretty cool guys moderating these forums for no cash at all.... [Nudges administrator with elbow] :D

Shouldn't there be moderators for some of the JKII.net forums?

The Technical Help and Dedicated server forums seem to have the same mod listed. Unless the super uber global mods can mod in all forums...

There's quite a few threads that arise in the Technical section relating to 'cracked' software which are left open for quite some time or are even still left open. :(

A lot of mods are also staff members on various network & hosted community sites (hint: This is another way that people get mod consideration on LucasForums, but usually being helpful and constructive on forums is the best route), so it's useful for them to attatch a design layout, screenshot, text file, or whatnot for other users to grab. Attatchments are more heavily used in the staff & private forums so that staffers can share files with other staffers without having to upload somewhere.

Well one example is that we often take a printscreen of forum trollers and then post it in the Private Mod Section. I hope that helps. Personally I don't believe I have ever seen a mod or admin abuse the file attachment function.

groovy, not nice with the attachment
